So I just finished rewatching FMAB an hour ago and haven't stopped crying since. There is something almost magical about this series. It lights up a fire inside my heart. I adore it for all it is and what it did to me.
Being on the older side, you can expect animation that is not as great as the newer ones, but honestly that doesn't apply for this one. I'm very focused on how the anime looks before anything else. FMAB surprised me. I appreciate that the production decided to use CGI very minimally (although the only thing I hated about it was Envy's true form
...
animations). It gave a traditional vibe, but not the type that would annoy me personally.
Story-wise, I liked that the focus wasn't ONLY on the Elric brothers. You get bits of stories, motivations, goals, thoughts etc. from various supporting characters. That, for me, deepened my attachment to this series. The entire plot was very well arranged. Nothing was rushed or too slow. Everything was explained clearly at exactly the moment you needed to know that information. Another plus, the plot twists. Although the end can be easily predicted, the journey in itself until there is getting slightly more complicated every episode. It was fun to see Ed and Al's adventures, hardships that they've gone through, everything they learned, and their trust in each other.
As for character development, LET ME TELL YOU. I got towards the end loving characters I used to dislike or even hate (primary example: my baby Greed, I love him). Every participant in the brothers' journey got their truth spelled out, figuring out their objectives, setting new ones, forming relationships, changing their ways, finding out who they really are etc. It's spectacular to watch every character grow.
For the last point, something that I personally love seeing in anime: the tint of romance. I liked that they made it as a sub-subplot ahahah. For some of the characters, it was clear as day, but for others, it was so subtle and thoughtful.
Overall, FMAB is a masterpiece. Bonus points because the OST is so good. 10/10

Ummm... Where do I start?
AOT is my endgame. I've never ever felt what this anime made me feel. Even after re-watching the entire series for a number of times. Even after knowing every scene by heart... I still cry (sob my eyes out), I still jump out of my chair in happiness, I still scream at the most frustrating parts of it. I’ve grown personal with this anime.
People who know me say that I'm crazy for loving an anime this much, but they didn't watch AOT to know better. I understand that not everyone likes AOT, but I encourage you to at least try
...
it out. So now, I want to point out WHY you should watch this anime and share some of my experiences.
1. The story itself. When I first started aot, confused is a small word to compare to what I felt. The mangaka did a very good job. Everything was thought out until the very end... Every scene, every character, every line a character says, every small detail and every foreshadowing, everything was very well placed to keep you hooked. Yes, it had boring moments. Yes, sometimes it was frustrating. But if you take a second to see the bigger picture, even that boring enlistment episodes had a big contribution to the series and how it progressed. The story is complex (very), it will take you a while to process everything (especially when you get to season 4 and check if you're really watching the right show), but, in my opinion, it is all worth it. Every arc is well-organized and gives you just the right amount of new information to make you go crazy and want to watch more. Also, it’s that kind of plot that has a lot (and i mean, A LOT) of twists. You might say too many plot-twists ruin the balance, but I think AOT had just the right amount of them.
2. The characters. You might not see it, but every character in AOT has a purpose. Everyone somehow contributed to this story. I am going to focus more on the main and side characters in this paragraph. The level of detail used to empower all of them is fascinating. Everyone had something, be it physical skill, great intellect, sense of leadership, responsibility, or even craziness and a little dumbness. Not a single character was neglected and was developed in rich detail and never rushed. And when you reach their end, you can see the difference, the growth, the circumstance in which they developed. For me personally, it was amazing to see my favorite characters grow into strong people with very fixed motivations. Of course, everyone warned me to NOT get deeply attached with any AOT character, but I didn’t listen, and while it sometimes destroyed me, it was also amazing and emotional.
3. Detail. This has to have its own section, because man… When I finished season 3 and had to wait for more episodes because season 4 was still in production, AOT started to appear a lot on my social media. I was shocked at how many small details I missed that foreshadowed the upcoming events. It was even more shocking after I finished the entire series 20 days ago. How many, MANY small things that either reappeared later in the series or told me exactly what is going to happen next… The worst, I only realized the entirety of them after I cried for 3 days straight after watching the finale. And trust me, when I say small things, I mean needle-in-a-haystack small. Worth of re-mentioning in this section is the rich detailing in the characters and the story as a whole.
4. Art. While I might say season 4 part 1 wasn’t extraordinary in this regard, the rest of the anime compensated for that rushed bit. They changed studios, pandemic was all over us, so you can excuse them for wanting to stop keeping us waiting for what’s coming. Anyways, overall, the art was AMAZING (at least). Now that I’ve watched AOT a number of times and know every bit of the story, when I re-watch, I like to pause sometimes and watch the scenery, the level of detail in the animation, faces of characters that are well-defined and it's just… magical. At least for me. Animation is really important for me. I like definition and rich detail (you probably noticed that). And if it’s important for you too, this anime is for you.
5. Music. Last but clearly not least. Evidently, you might know a good part of the AOT soundtracks, because they’re pretty popular. But pair them with the scenes, and you get extraordinary. The way a song can be so well-paired with certain scenes, it made me cry like a million times, even if I re-watched those scenes a hundred times.
So, in conclusion, I’m obsessed with Attack on Titan and I recommend it to you. It surely is not for every watcher, but would it hurt you to try?

sheesh. they should add the romance tag on the genre listing.
i feel that this movie is wrong-titled. it is not a sequel, more like a side-story. its contribution to the main plotline is irrelevant, almost useless. but let's say, it has somewhat of a relevance.
we've got to taste more of the romance, the good in a world full of anger, sadness and fear. it was to detach our heads from the bad and see the beauty of the path (very poetic don't you say). the producers tried to get outside the norm, outside the typical post-apocalyptic stories, but i'm just sad for those people
...
who waited between the 1st season release and the movie release, because they've waited for... nothing. no answers, no continuing the plot. just a wrong-titled side-story.
but, skipping all that, i liked it. it made me giggle. it was wholesome. romance is my soft spot, so don't judge me. (i gotta mention, that little smooch was soooo cute)
6/10. good romance, not a good continuation for this series.

i admit, i started watching this show because it has many similarities with attack on titan. but along the way, i feel like it detached from this angle.
yes, we can discern many characteristics seen in aot such as: main character’s family member dies by the hand of monsters, he gets the power they possess, vows to kill all of them and protect his loved ones. you even have the strong female character who has an attraction to the protagonist, the walls, some sort of “scouts”, so on and so forth. everyone gets it, koutetsujou no kabaneri follows the exact same basic storyline as aot. but
...
many details are unique to this series, and they’re very obvious.
now, i’ll list some of the things that i liked/disliked about this series and why i have mixed feelings about it:
1. side characters aren’t well-detailed. i finished this first season and i don’t remember a thing about ANY of the side characters. nothing they did was memorable. the producers focused more on the mains, but not even that is entirely well-made.
2. i feel like they wanted to slow down the story, but not to the extreme. nothing was too long or too short. it was well-placed and followed a good succession of events.(unlike many series that i've watched)
3. personally, i think animation is key in a series. and this one served. it wasn’t rushed. i like that. the flow in-between the frames was really well made.
4. it was somewhat predictable. i could have seen the ending since early in the 9th episode. it was clear who will turn evil, who is bluffing, who will survive and who will die. that is a minus in this series. i hope the next season will be better in this aspect.
overall, it was a good binge. i enjoyed it, but it had flaws that i can’t move on from. i like the concept, while it might not be the most original one, and the thrill was there. so 7/10.

i've been having a looong existential crisis since i started this anime, and also a great thirst to watch continuously... let me explain why i consider this close to a masterpiece (but has yet to become one):
firstly, the story is bound to have a somehow the steadiest unsteady flow. when i finished watching the first season + the "frozen bond" prequel, it left me with a sour taste in my mouth, i can say. it left me with literal thousands of unanswered questions and theories left unproven. starting season two, after every (and i mean EVERY) episode something unexpected happened, adding more questions and mysteries
...
to scrabble and think about, but it did indeed answered some other mysteries (though incompletely in most cases). i personally think the element of surprise, the calculation of the events and their meaning is a great deal found only in the best of the best anime. it gives the watcher a restless sensation, wanting to see more and find out more about the lore and the mystery surrounding it. (i also believe that once more seasons will launch, this series will gain a great amount of watchers)
secondly, the fact that sometimes they let out the opening/ending to include more story is amazing. also the 25 minutes+ episodes... you can clearly see here that they prioritize THE STORY over the plain boring repetitive aesthetic seen in almost every anime. i like this unsteady way of putting the scrap down in an episode.
lastly, i expect this series to have at least another 3-4 seasons, so the fact that it isn't rushed up until now (and i hope they'll keep it this way) just makes it better, but sometimes they dragged it out too long:)
overall, this series is a must-watch. i believe it is close to becoming one of the greatest anime to be created, but we'll see how it goes from now.

well, this anime was not my type. but even though it wasnt my type, i still liked a few things about it. (mini spoilers ahead)
one of them being the fact that the plot is slightly similar with darling in the franxx. the way it was portrayed really reminded me of all the emotions i felt when i watched darling. the finale as well (made me cry like crazy) was really surprising and better in some way. (not gonna spoil anything, but satan deserved that tbh)
another thing i liked about this anime is the sound. yes. in some moments i just was listening to the background
...
music. lol.
another thing i liked would be the surprise that gave me almost every episode. if you gonna watch this ONA, prepare for some big surprises and plot-twists.
even though there were plenty of other things besides the ones enumerated that i liked about this anime, there were a lot of other things that i didnt like.
first, the intense sexuality. this anime would have been better with a bare minimum of sexuality in my opinion.
second, the plot was rushed. i didnt read the manga but the way the story goes is very "compressed". the character development was a total fail as well. (except satan that was very good portrayed and developped imo)
third, the animation sucked. well maybe this was the way they thought would work with the whole plot, but i dont like it.
i wanted to say more things, but its late and my mind doesnt work well, so ill give my conclusion:
not my type, poor character development, too short, rushed, but slightly enjoyable from another points of view.
story: 5
art: 4
sound: 8
character: 3
enjoyment: 7
overall: 5:/
