They have a similar sort of mystery/action thing going for them, though the pacing is quicker in Canaan, and the mystery is more... well, mysterious for Darker than Black.

Girls and guns, Yuki Kajiura, same studio, similar plot line, same slow pacing.

Both have dark/creepy subject matter, violence, and tend to start episodes happy so they can fake you out for the batshit crazy ending. Basically if you\'ve seen Higurashi, you\'ll probably like Elfen Lied more than that. It doesn\'t quite work in reverse though, because Elfen Lied\'s plot is more cohesive than Higurashi\'s, so if you saw Elfen Lied first, Higurashi might not be your thing. Both are very enjoyable in their own ways though.

Both have badass female leads, young male companions, forsaken heroes, awesome action sequences, and historical/fantasy setting. Good character development too, so the fights have more tension because you really care about the characters doing the fighting.

El Cazador de la Bruja

Both have girls and guns, Yuki Kajiura, same studio, similar plot line, and the same slow pacing. However, Noir is more serious than El Cazador tonally, and the episodic format can drag a little because it doesn\'t have El Cazador\'s sense of humor.
