Both are mystery series but what I am more interested about these animes is because their 'mystery cases' revolves about urban legends and rumors. The lead male and female are also super cute, always together with unbreakable bonds.

If you liked Shingeki no Kyojin add

...then you might like Koutetsujou no Kabaneri add

I just thought they are quite similar, in kabaneri their enemies are like the smoller version of titans. AOT has a much more complicated plot than kabaneri though. The animations especially in fighting scenes on both are really great for me as well. Although kabaneri is underrated, it's worth a watch too.

Both are psychological series and having to save a special friend no matter what while uncovering the truths of who are behind the mysteries they have been facing throughout their lives. Each episode makes you really think and be excite to what happens next and its twists.

If you are a big fan of Psychological animes then these are my two big recommendations that go well. Both have that "return by death" element in the series, and saving the people you care about, but what's more shocking is these people actually have sides you would never expect until a certain event happens. The gore and horror scenes are also pretty great for both.
