After a few months of reading reviews and understanding how helpful many are here I have decided to write my own. This is my first I hope everyone finds these as helpful as the ones I have read on here.
Today I have decided to write about Elfen Lied. Let me start off by saying that this one series that just isn't not for everyone. It has high gore, nudity, and violence. Personally I am one type of person who enjoys that kind of content.
It starts off by one of the most memorable moments in anime history. A female Diclonius named Lucy, what seems as

a break out, walking naked just massacring everyone soldier. Lucy in this story is the female protagonist. She is a cold hearted killer, cruel and shows little mercy. She almost escapes but she doesn't make it without getting shot in the back of the head. She falls into the lake and this is where the story starts. This is where you meet the other two mains of the show Kouta and Yuka who are cousins find this girl who has washed up on the shore. However she isn't the same cold-hearted killer. Someone who is innocence and kind but can only say "nyu" Kouta is the male protagonist. They for some reason take her in to their house to care for her. Then this is where things go crazy. That is all I am going to leave with you all.
Story:10
The story while short and a bit rushed is amazing and stunning. It has elements that bring the story to a maximum like anxiety, and adrenaline pumping moments.
Art:10
I love the art it is beautiful, and characters are drawn very well. Although, I am usually a type that rates this section a bit higher then others. The backgrounds are nice and add to the suspence of the story.
Sound:9
The opening gives a nice touch to the type of anime this will turn out to be. It also plays an important role in the show that you maybe pick up on. The ending I love. The song puts a twist on the series with its upbeat-pop like sound which sounds amazing. The Background sound are sometimes nonexistent but when they are it fits it nicely.
Characters:9
Lucy/Nyu is one of my favorite characters of all time. She is absolutely stunning and awesome. Kouta is decent along with Yuka. Yuka got annoying at times and complains and cries but she is important and has some awesome moments. Kouta is the typical male lead. You meet another character diclonius names Nana which again is one the best characters. These two plus the director make the show amazing.
Enjoyment:10
I loved this show and all it gave. Again I am into violence, gore, and nudity so of course I will enjoy this series. It ends kind of abruptly and is a bit open ended but that helped towards the enjoyment.
Overall:10
Throwing some other factors in, I gave this show a perfect 10. It had everything I wanted in a mature show. Again, this show is not for everyone. Many will love it and equally many will hate it. Its up to you to decide. I hope this helps.
