I watched this because I had some time on my hands. I had never heard of it before and had no clue what is was about, I just saw it and hit play. By the end of watching it I felt truly disappointed and wasted two hours. In a few months I will definitely forget about this anime and gladly at that. At no point in time in this anime was I ever truly invested and the whole time watching it I just kept thinking, it might get better, it might be worth it, and by the time I realized it was not going to, ... I did not have time to start anything new and kept telling myself that there wasn't much left and that I should just finish it (leaving things unfinished generally bothers me.) Honestly I wish I had just stopped watching it.
Pros: the animation was really pleasant and cute, I enjoyed the sound. The plot COULD BE enjoyable to SOME.
Cons: While the animation was cute and I really liked the design of the main characters, both of the mains (especially the girl) had cringy and unbearable personalities, the plot had almost no depth (even though they clearly tried to be deep) which left me with a disappointed almost empty feeling, the fairy tale aspect of it was really obnoxious and I could not see this appealing to anyone but very young children, and the only reason a young child would enjoy this is because it has singing and brightly colored animation, which I do not think that was the audience they were trying to appeal.
Overall I would just suggest everyone to just skip out on this movie, you wont miss anything don't worry.

I had seen this anime pop up here and there and when I finally sat down to watch it, I was (for lack of a better word) excited to watch this. I am constantly looking for good shoujo ai/yuri anime and when I noticed Citrus seemed to be a bit more popular than other shoujo ai I mistakenly thought "ah then it can't be that bad." But I was wrong.
Despite what I have heard some saying, the sexual assault in this anime did not add any deeper meaning or lessons. It just happened and there seemed to be no consequences. Not only that but the ... relationship between the two characters is not in anyway cute. It is (again at a lack of a better word) very toxic, and I am fine with media portraying a toxic relationship to show how bad they can be and how they can be hard for everyone involved and spread a positive message with the story. But Citrus did not spread any message at all, it just (IN MY OPINION) casually threw in some sexual assault, in what was the main relationship that you supposed to root for, and then just made the relationship toxic and hard to watch. Anyone who would want to be in this sort of relationship or think anything they did would be okay or cute to do, should get themselves mentally checked.

Yes, I know that some people are into cheating or enjoy watching things that involve cheating, but that is not even the reason this anime sucks. Overall I think it is portraying very bad and uncomfortable behavior in an almost lighthearted way and I was not prepared for that. almost every scene made me feel uneasy and the thought that someone could watch some scenes in this show and not get uncomfortable/think it is normal or okay makes me very ehhh feeling. Go ahead and watch it if you do not think you will be bothered by the scenes in this, but I wish I ... did a bit more research and read reviews before watching this because at the time I did not know what I was getting myself into.

(NO SPOLIERS) I have given overall a rating of 5. I am having a hard time rating this anime though, because honestly it is not good. The characters are poorly developed, the singing parts seemed to come out of nowhere at times, I felt as if there was not much closure at the end, and really the plot is not anything note worthy. Despite all that, I thoroughly enjoyed it. It made me laugh, I was invested, and I have watched it twice. The thing is, I could not tell you why I enjoyed it so much, so honestly if you have not seen it, ... give it a go. I am still giving this an overall average score, because as much as I loved it, from an anime standpoint it was not anything that would or should stand out too much, and does not have the qualities that GOOD anime has. Keep in mind, I really enjoy typically stupid, trash anime.
