Please note that the original Love Live! School Idol Project will be referred as Love Live/ original and Love Live Sunshine will just be called Sunshine in this review.
I'm sorry to say but this was garbage compared to Love Live! School Idol Project.
Let's start with the story: The show is about a girl who decided to become a school idol in order to stop her school from closing down. Sounds familiar? Well yes, it's the same fucking plot of the original
There was absolutely nothing new. They tried to create drama and tension when Riko's piano recital coincidentally happened to be on the same
...
day of the Love Live Qualifiers but even that did nothing to splash some excitement. They even tossed in a lesbian fanservice "suki suki moe moe daisuki" that did absolutely nothing for the anime.
This show is trying so hard to become Love Live and they are not even trying to hide it.
The story doesn't grip you. I remember on the original, when Muse first had their live and no one showed up and when all of them sang Start Dash together for the first time. There were goosebumps, there was joy. And when their classmates helped them get in time for their performance in the middle of a snow storm so they can can sing Snow Halation. I felt a lot of emotions unlike while I'm watching Sunshine.
Also, what the FUCK was that cringey monologue at the end? If you were going to monologue the entire story on the last episode then I shouldn't have bothered wasting my time on episodes 1-12!
Moving on to characters, like the fucking story it was a copy cat. The character designer could have made characters with more original features. Chika is Honoka, You looks like Hanayo, Riko is obviously Maki, Mari is Alice chan and Eli, Dia is a mix of Umi and Eli's personality. Aside from that, the characters failed to make the viewer (ME) give a shit about them. There was no emotional attachment to these characters what so ever. They were very dull and unrelatable. Overall the characters are flat flat flat!
Lastly, the music. Now, I'll be honest, I'm not really musically inclined. But, Sunshine's soundtrack didn't really stay with me unlike Love Live. The lyrics were not very good and it felt like it didn't fit with the melody. Speaking of melody, their music was not catchy at all. I didn't find myself repeating the songs in my head. I was so disappointed because the music was one of my favorite part about Love Live.
Overall, Sunshine was a pathetic copy cat of the original that was made to milk in more money from the die hard Love Live fans.

I finished the entire season in order to give the show a chance but it's just not good.
The Story:
It's about a shit ton of girls trying to become an idol. There's really not much to go on except for that.
The Characters:
Probably the majority of the reason why I didn't like the show was because of the poor characters. Seriously, a big cast like that and all of them are very one dimensional. These girls had poor personality, unmemorable and over all not relatable. The problem with a 12-episode show with a huge cast is that not everyone will be developed by the end
...
of the season. I mean what are their motivations? They want to become an idol but why? And why is Rin so fucking emo?
The Music:
The music was okay. Like the characters, it wasn't memorable but it was decent none the less.
Finally, this was being compared to Love Live? Yeah I don't think so. Not even close to Love Live. (Don't get me wrong. Im not part of the fandom. I'm just observing and being honest. )

This is probably one of the most random anime I've ever seen. Admittedly, I understood none of it. It doesn't mean that I didn't enjoy the anime, I did. I just had a hard time grasping what it's all about. I even googled it and still came up with zero explanation.
Towards the end I gained more questions rather than answers. Some of the things that I am sure of is that, the soundtrack is awesome and that Furi Kuri has a quirky contemporary charm about it.
That's all I really have to say but MAL is forcing me to write a longer review so
...
I'll just pretend to write "quality content" by typing in whatever until it lets me post my short review regarding FLCL.

I was a child when I first saw Evangelion, I didn't remember much of the story, I didn't understand much either. And after re watching it, I found out that, this really isn't for kids.
First, music was AMAZING! Opening song was hands down one of the most iconic one ever. It gets the viewers pumped up for the anime.
The story was good, there wasn't much development but over all it was gripping. The only problem was that the pacing and the execution of the episodes were messy and all over the place. There's nothing spectacular about the art style and animation, they
...
were both old fashioned since the anime came out in 1995.
The main reason why I decided to watch it again is because of the hear-say about the production of this anime, I'm not sure if it was the director, Hideaki Anno, that was said to have suffered depression during the making of this anime. Now, that I am an adult, I was able to notice and absorb the anime more compared to just watching it back when I was a kid.
Half way through the series, everything was all over the place. It felt so unorganized and messy. The crisis that the production was experiencing reflected on the anime. Black screens with text, still frames with voice overs. There was literally 45 seconds of still frames towards the last few episodes. No sounds, no dialogues. Just one frame of a scene for 45 seconds.
I felt that the internal monologue of Shinji somewhat reflects the directors psyche while battling depression.
Finally, WHAT THE FUCK WAS THE ENDING ALL ABOUT? I didn't get a single thing about that ending.

I don't understand those people who are so critical about rating/ reviewing an OVA. It's an omake, of course there's not gonna be a whole lot of action and excitement in it.
I think Road to Hero is an awesome OVA. We get to a little bit of Saitama before he became the strongest man in the universe (presumably). There's not much back story on Saitama in the original series so seeing him interact with another person before he became this overpowered hero is a nice little bonus. We get to see how his iconic yellow jump suit came to be.
The humor was
...
still there, it's one of the main reason why I loved the show. It's a fuck it show on overpowered beings but it's so filled with great humor you'll forget that there isn't real that much plot in the series.
The old man was so sweet. I can't help but wonder what happened to him or where he is now that Saitama is a licensed hero.
Finally, it made me want to see more of the show. I want more One Punch! I want more of the bald guy who is a hero as a hobby (and profit). This shit better get a season 2.

I'm so glad I didn't give up on this series.
It's been getting some great reviews so I thought I should see what the fuss was about. At first I didn't understand what all the hype was about. I watched the first couple episodes and got bored with it. I stopped watching it for weeks. Every once in a while I would watch another episode just to try and get the feel of the story.
I was supposed to give up on this show entirely but I decided to give it another chance. I had a Nagi no Asukara marathon from episode four. I have
...
to say, it's one of the most beautiful stories out there. Sure there are a lot of angst and the characters can be quite annoying. But as a whole, it's a beautiful beautiful story.
From different kinds of people being able to put their differences aside and get along to showing how to give love to someone unconditionally.
It's about community, family, friendship and romance.
All of the characters have depth, even the supporting ones. The people in the community all feel so present. Usually in anime they are there to serve as a background for the main characters. Not in here. In Nagi no Asukara they play a huge part in the story.
Even though the relationship of the main characters is like a tangled web somehow it worked out in the end. Somehow, it made sense and it felt right in the last episode. None of it felt forced.
Let me just say that the Sea God and Ojoshi-sama's story is really heart breaking. I felt sad for Uroko-sama.
Finally, I don't know any more. I wanted to cry after I finished the last episode. I'm glad that the anime had a proper ending. I'm glad that I pushed through with it or else I might have missed a really amazing anime. All 26 episodes are full of emotions and it draws the viewers in and make them empathize with the characters. I can't remember how many times I cried while watching. Actually, I'm writing this review because I have so much emotions right now and I can't really express it.

I like the musical concept of the anime, the music and melody are mediocre but it's unique nonetheless. Sure there are shows that's focused on singing and music but I don't think I've seen a "Disney Style" musical anime. Some of the song numbers are so cringey it's hilarious. I watched all 12 episodes just for the fuck of it to be honest. I didn't expect to enjoy it.
The story has already been done before, there's not much originality with the plot. But then again, it's the same for most harem and reverse harem anime.
I'm just glad that the main protagonist, Ritsuka is
...
not the air head, one dimensional girl that everyone magically falls in love with even though she has no personality whatsoever. (I AM LOOKING AT YOU HEROINE OF AMNESIA). Ritsuka doesn't have the I'll kill you with my kindness and sweetness personality but she's pretty decent. True she can be really dumb sometimes but that's sort of one of the cliches for reverse harem (Except for Haruhi) no offense.
Finally, the ending. Like every other goddamn 12 episode anime, this one is open ended with a tiny cliff hanger. Will it have a season 2? I don't know. Do I want it to have a season 2? Probably not. They should've given this a proper closure.

I'm going to say it now, Gakkougurashi has only been popular because it's not something that you would expect from a moe looking show. The strong contrast between the character design and the world building is what helped gain its popularity.
In terms of story and it's development, there isn't much to go along. It is very restricted to a "slice of life" theme. Although I am going to admit that I was surprised by a few plot twists/ revelations. I am hoping that there will be a second season because like most 12-episode long anime, this one is open-ended.
Now, onto the characters. I
...
found myself not liking the main protagonist, Yuki. I get it, she has a psychological condition and she's the sunshine amidst their storm but she is the most unreliable idiot ever. I know! She's written like that. It's supposed to be cute and endearing. Well it's not. I feel sorry for Kurumi, Rii and Miki for always ALWAYS keeping her ass out of danger. I don't really mind the other characters but for some reason they remind me of K-On! Yuki is the more annoying version of Yui; Rii for Mugi; Kurumi for Ritsu and Miki is a mix of Azusa and Mio. I don't know.
Next let's talk about the animation and art style. Scratching the rage inducing Yuki, I think the art is garbage on this one. I just don't know if I got the censored version but would it kill the creators to do a proper zombie instead of just animating a dark aura around them? Too me it's a little (LOT) lazy. Most of the scene where there are a lot of zombies are also blurry/ out of focus. Come on! I think I can handle a little gore.
Lastly, is the anime good? The answer is both yes and no. Yes, because I admit that some of the scenes are very heartbreaking to watch. I didn't expect to bawl my eyes out in the last two episodes but I did. No, because of the lazy animation, lack of character and story development.
If you watch Gakkougurashi without knowing that it is a deconstructed slice of life then the anime might blow you away. But since I knew from the start that it is not what it seems I kind of raised my expectations a little higher and got disappointed. (So yeah, I might have spoiled myself the enjoyment of this anime)

There are hundreds of slice of life rom-com anime out there. What stood out about Ore Monogatari is that the story is so light but for some reason it puts you at the edge of your seat because of the anticipation of seeing how relationships would develop over the next episodes.
The "gorilla-like" character has been a staple at mangas and anime in order to create a comic relief or to emphasize how attractive the main character is by creating a contrast. Ore Monogatari is different. The "gorilla-like" character was the main focus of the story which is such a breath of fresh air.
...
His appearance was always being brought up but honestly, I didn't care that he looked so out of place as a main character because I was so hooked at the entire show as a whole.
Aside from the twist on the regular prince type protagonist, the story was pretty much straight forward. It's about Gouda Takeo's love story and his daily interaction with the people around him. I also ADORED how the anime didn't only focus on the romantic aspect love, half of it was about friendship too. Speaking of friendship, can we all take a moment t appreciate Suna and Takeo's bromance? I was so affected by their friendship, it just felt so sincere (yes, I'm aware, it's an anime).
The show was filled with endearing characters, all of them have their own quirks which makes them so interesting. In my opinion, Takeo was the one with the most character development, he started as a gentle giant of a push over and ended up being more reliable and confident. Next up was Suna, I thought for sure he would be made into a 1-dimensional uninteresting eye candy but I was wrong. He was still the prince type. Intelligent, cool headed, quiet, perceptive and kind. The fact that Suna, the conventional protagonist type, didn't overshadow Gouda, the "gorilla-like" side character type was praise worthy. The one who stayed consistent throughout the show (in a good way) was Yamato, she's the cookie-cutter heroine, kind, cheerful, positive, smart, good at baking but she's not the pure clueless type (in you know what I mean). To sum up her character, she's very relatable.
Final thoughts?! God damn, the hype about this anime is well deserved. It's a feel-good hilarious show. I wish there will be a second season, and I want it to be about Suna. Suna's Love Story to be exact. I think it'd be interesting to watch Suna fumbling around trying to figure out love and relationship. Now if you'll excuse me, I'll go look for the manga now.

Jesus Christ, I've never been so uncomfortable while watching anime. I consider myself a fairly open-minded person. People have been raving about how dreadful this anime is and I wanted to see for myself and come up with my own conclusions.
Watching this just feels, wrong. Not because it's hentai-ish, believe me I've seen hentai but I got through those just fine. Pico was obviously designed to be a "trap" character. A little boy who looks like a cute little girl. Wtf. Sometimes I am baffled because he looked like he has boobies. My mind is utterly confused all throughout.
Besides that, pedophilia. But but
...
but, lolicons can be considered pedophilia too so why hate on Boku no Pico? #Doublestandards! Well, that is because I felt that Pico was taken advantage of by Mokkun.
I...I have been scarred. My eyeballs felt dirty after watching this. I'm going to re-evaluate my life choices now.
