The manga is much better than the anime. What the anime adapts I think of as the prologue to Kei's character arc and as a result it only shows him at his worst. If you at least liked the action and overall style I think it's worth reading the manga because the battles continuously get crazier and gorier, and the final arc begins with one of the biggest "holy shit" moments I've encountered.
I am really not well-versed when it comes to comedies. My go-to recommendation would be WATAMOTE, but that one I see you have already watched. I actually enjoyed "Aggretsuko" a lot. Haven't watched it past season 1, but that definitely had some good laughs and charming characters in it.
Yup, but that's a bait and they played with it with how they made people believe it was a remake at 1st, but it actually has a totally different plot at some point. Yes, it's like mix between slice of life and space adventure, especially how it's more focused on the characters' development which is a really good thing, and the whole "space" ambiance is something you don't often get in anime and that's why it was so great for me
