Expectations
I watched this series thanks to a recommendation to me by a friend and if I'm being honest I didn't have insane expectations for it.
Story
It's very simple and honestly doesn't have much complexity outside of explaining how the pets work but despite it's simple nature it was able to catch my attention.

Eien no With is a bittersweet story of a girl raising a service dog and reuniting with him a couple of years later when he's much older. The story focuses on Hitomi's relationship with Eye and her friends and family so we're able to see how her growth and her acceptance regarding Eye and his age. The art can look a little wonky sometimes but it has that same charm that Nana's art has. A very quick read of a collection of stories that you can read in a day! Most of these stories are a slice of life and with a bit of whimsy thrown in them which makes the story engaging both visually and storytelling-wise! Most of them deal with relationships, both familial and romantic but they're all very cute to read through. None of the stories have a connection but some have enough substance to be a stand-alone manga or be a collection of OVAs (personally I would loved to see Shadow of Stars animated)! I've been a fan of Saint Seiya for about 5 years and let me tell you that this is the most unfaithful, irrelevant, and uncreative spin-off this franchise has ever had.
Every spin-off has its interesting take on its protagonist and yes they may seem repetitive (the protagonist has to save or find someone dear to them while also dealing with the heavy burden of being a saint). It's simple stuff and Dark Wing isn't a stranger to this.
