This is an early review and based only on the episodes already released, I warn you that there will be spoilers.

Being very direct and succinct: this anime does not pretend to be the next naruto, fairy tail, whatever or an anime version of Harry Potter, in fact, it fits more into the category of "anime with an overpowered character without being isekai".

Right from the start, you can point out - even if you're not potterhead, the countless similarities and references to the Harry Potter universe, as well as you can also relate to Asta from Black Clover. A character without magic who stands out for ... his physical skills or a character who has a connection to some magical world but doesn't know it very well, and needs to adapt to keep living in peace.

However, are not these aspects or the very basic premise that make the anime feel shallow or bland. The anime has a very high level of entertainment, I mean, you won't get bored because the situations are funny and the plot also allows the story to move in a more linear way. What, in my point of view, spoils the anime is the excess expectations that are placed on those who are watching.

Mash is a guy who doesn't show feelings or expressions, so anything he says will be ultra fun and unusual and therefore it will be something funny within the situation and the characters will be surprised by what is happening because is the situation is completely out of the ordinary. That's funny like two or three times only but they put it in literally every scene.

Why does everything have to be funny or out of the ordinary to make it seem like the character isn't like the others if it's already totally clear and obvious that he is like that? The whole thing seems so forced, it's almost disappointing.

I'll keep watching the anime because I have free time and I like it, i do not intend to be a hater or something.

I'm going to give a pretty straightforward review and I don't care.

The animation is very beautiful, the character design is great, it's a feature in Makoto Shinkai movies to have so much music in the middle of the "chapters", which makes the scenes a little dragged and kinda overwhealming, and in the end, it's an enjoyable movie however is one hundred percent predictable in every single way, after all, it's a Makoto Shinkai movie.

Nonetheless, if you're reading this, expecting to read something that make you wanna watch this movie, yearning to see the amazing, forget it. This movie is LITERALLY a reimagined version of Studio ... Ghibli's Ponyo, and I think that's enough to explain the plot.
