This manga was very bittersweet. At times it was very sweet and cute but at others it was heart wrenching. I was not expecting the story to turn out the way it did. It was completely different from what I was expecting, but in a good way.
I believe that the personalities of the characters were all quite realistic and it really displayed the issues at the time in a way in which people can understand and see the implications and atrocities of war. As well as the sadness and sorrow that follows war. I highly recommend this manga, it really just hit different.

The story itself I do not think is mind blowing or original as of now. Maybe the next few episodes will help in originality but as of now it's really quite cliché. However, that's not to say I did not enjoy the show.

Story: 6/10

The story isn't bad but it's not particularly amazing either. It pretty much feels like a normal shounen sports anime nothing out of the ordinary really. The most original part about the story is of course the skateboarding aspect. I don't think I have ever seen any other animes about skateboarding, so that in itself was really quite intriguing.

Art: ... 9/10

I thought the art was absolutely amazing! Everything from the character designs to the backgrounds to the animations of the skating. I won't go into details but essentially the art was just very up there and fantastic. That's all I have to say.

Sound: 7/10

The music choice was pretty good. When listening to the background music that played while they skated, I felt like I was taken back to the 90s and early 2000s skating vibe because the song they chose had the classic skater vibe, with the guitar, bass and drums that reminded me of something along the lines of pop punk rock music.

Characters: 5/10

The characters were not particularly dislikeable but their personalities weren't exactly original and anyone can pretty much guess what kind of common trope each of the characters are. Although the characters weren't that unique, I did appreciate the relationship between Reki and Langa. I liked how their friendship was not that complicated and the fact that it did not take a long time to develop because knowing full well that there are only going to be 12 episodes, it would suck if it took a whole 12 episodes to advance their friendship by a miniscule level , when the show is supposed to be about skating. Of course, that is just a personal preference though.

Enjoyment: 9/10

Although the story of as now is quite cliché, I enjoyed it mainly because the aesthetics were very pleasing to the eye and the fact that I was able to watch skateboarding in anime was pretty amazing in itself, since I have never seen any other anime on skateboarding. The whole atmosphere of the show is pretty light and not very heavy and drama filled, so that was what made it very enjoyable to me.

Overall: 7/10

I personally really enjoyed this show. The art was amazing the soundtrack was amazing and not only that but the story telling was extremely well done. Although most people will tend to avoid this show because it contains BL. I really think that people who usually avoid BL, can actually watch this because the story is so amazing and you can somewhat ignore the aspect of it being BL and pass it more as bromance. So whether you are into BL or not I think this donghua was very well made and I really enjoyed it(literally got me obsessed lol).
