I fully expected this to be a half assed commercial for a trash, buggy game in a desperate attempt to get some more sales.
It turned out to be a 10/10 experience, however. Made me reinstall the game, but to be fair, I uninstalled after 2 hours cuz its really trash lol. I'll keep this review shallow so you can fully experience the anime on your own. Anyway....
Story, 9:
Completely unrelated to the game, so you don't need to know anything.
17 year old school drop out, dead mom, eager to make some cash. Makes friends with gangsters. Falls in love. Deals with life threatening situations, and at
...
the same time, fights his own cyber induced psychosis, while trying to save the one he loves. Simple, yet it works.
Characters, 10:
Simple tropes, but all of them work perfectly. It's a 10 episode anime without a dull moment. "Teacher" leader, love interest with a dream she can't reach because she's stuck in a shithole, funny loli and her retarded brother, quiet and serious hacker, and leaders funny second hand. MC is a believable 17 year old, which is really hard to come by in this dog water medium today. Bit brash, dumb, yet full of love.
Art/Music, 10:
It's Trigger.
Enjoyment, 10:
It was supposed to be a forgettable video game commercial, yet it made me cry at the end. I'd honestly say it sits in the top 10 of all anime ever produced, not just because it's actual quality - they managed to keep it 10 episodes long, quite literally perfect length. Never drawn out, never boring, never overstaying its welcome. Every second made worth it. Good job, Trigger and CDPR.

A work of art. Simple as.
Have you ever seen one of those cartel torture videos, where they tie the guy up, and the tear of his face with a machete, then tear his heart out and eat it while he's still conscious? An absolute atrocity, but for some reason, you can't stop?
Welcome to Kanojo, Okarishimasu, where, for the last 250 chapters (Sept 2022), we had NOTHING happen. Yup. And yet, I can't stop reading it. I always need that sweet crack cocaine fix that comes every Monday, even though I can predict the chapter with 95% accuracy.
Characters:
The main character is described as a lonely incel,
...
yet for some reason, he has four 10/10 girls wetting themselves over him. He spends thousands of $Y to rent out a prostitute he can't even physically engage, which sums up his character pretty well. The main love interest, the female mc, is what you'd call a prostitute - 100 men, maybe more. She goes on rental dates with male MC for EZ money. She lost all her family. And she has to pretend she's not a rental GF. Girl #2, the ex-gf, is a complete psycho, and we're all secretly hoping she sets other characters on fire. Girl #3 loves MC, but MC doesn't love her. She's annoying. Girl #4 is a gift from God and best girl. Other characters are just there to fill in the empty backgrounds.
Art:
Idk, ok?
Sound:
Lol this is a manga, there's no music.
Story:
Hm. So the incel male MC falls in love with the rental prostitute during their gf-rent schemes. This becomes a problem, as their families get involved, and everyone is convinced they're for real. Been that way for 245 chapters. Now finally, we have some sort of a semi confession, and when EVERYONE hoped the story would go on, nope. Female MC needs to think about her feelings, which is authors subtle way of saying the manga will go on for 600 more chapters. I mean, if he could pull off 250 chapters with absolutely NOTHING happening, this current situation will easily surpass One Piece chapter count.
"Uhhh, why the hell did you rate it a 10 then?"
I feel that the integral part of any work is the impact and legacy they leave on you. The author managed to make me come back to this absolute dull dumpster fire for years now, so that has to count for something. Unironically, BRAVO. Can't wait till the eventual confession drops in the special chapter #1000.

After a series of 10's, I decided the public deserves a review by someone who is over the age of 14.
Story (3/10)
The beautiful thing about this manga is that the 95% of it can be explained in the following paragraph.
Me main character. Me like boobs. Me use chainsaw to kill demons. Vroom Vroom. Me have other friends who help me kill demons.
That's it. The ending throws an expected twist that really added nothing to the story, which is a shame considering the Gun Demon and Hell Arc are 1000 times better than that ending.
Art (8/10)
I'd say it was really good. Couple of panels were
...
really messy, it was hard to tell what was what. But other than that, important moments are done well.
Character (1/10)
Easily the worst part of it. As I said, main guy likes tits and sweets, and that's the end of his depth. Supporting cast was done weak and shallow. Makima is a poor mans Aizen. And I mean, really poor mans.
Overall (5/10)
This manga is essentially the same as Kimetsu no Yaiba. Are you 14, is this your first manga, and do you think tits, blood and characters screaming and transforming is the coolest thing ever? You'll like it. No? Then you won't.

--The review contains spoilers--
I had to completely redo my review, and went from the score of 1 to 10. I've actually reread the entire manga in a single night, and came to a different conclusion. This review is 100% spoilers and an attempt at explaining the divisive ending, so don't read it if you're just starting. If it helps, know that I've spent 11 years reading it, and reread it many times so I could form this opinion, meaning that my rating holds weight, and you won't be making a mistake if you choose to read this manga.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
While I do understand the anger of the
...
fandom, there's one really big problem with the arguments you guys put out. It seems that literally none of you understand who and what Eren Yeager is.
Now, I'll be honest with you. I was also an "Erenchad", I also rooted for genocide. 139 hit me like a truck, I was pissed for hours. Why would he end it like this? He effectively backtracks on all his beliefs. A complete 180. Then I calmed down, and started thinking.
Did Isayama mess up the ending, or did I not understand Eren at all?
Let's start at the beginning. Eren Yeager was born as the most unfortunate piece of shit on the planet. There's a reason he says "I'm not really sure why I did it". Look at his baby eyes in 139. The moment Ymir made contact with that parasite, Eren Yeager was destined for doom. It's quite silly when you think about it - the man who represented freedom - was the one farthest away from it. Him saving Mikasa in the cabin, getting her to follow him, and everything after it - wasn't Erens doing. The poor guy was acting on reflexes of a long dead demigod, who needed Mikasa for some reason to be free.
Now we come to 2 Erens that make this story - pre future memories, and post future memories Eren. Pre future, as you can probably guess, is Eren before getting his memories when he kissed Historias hand. Ymirs grasp over him wasn't that strong at the time. However, contact with royal blood allowed Ymir to wake up inside him. At that precise moment, Eren Yeager died, and was no more. He was nothing more than a complete vessel for Ymir. And that perfectly explains every action of his from now on then. Imagine if you knew you were going to die in 4 years, while killing 80% of the population. You also find out that it was YOU who killed your own mother. Erens entire persona was based on avenging his mom. IMAGINE what all those revelations do to the psyche of a then 15 - now 19 year old boy. A kid.
1) You are solely responsible for the deaths of your closest friends
2) You killed your own father and mother
3) You will force your own friends to kill you later on
4) No matter what happens, you leave the world blind, and you won't know if Eldians will actually survive
>Hur dur explain his sudden love for Mikasa
Well, it was always there. Back then, the world was surrounded with human eating monsters, his mother has died, and he just found out he's one of the monsters - do you think he can afford a relationship with Mikasa? He swept all his personal feelings under the carpet. Despite not showing it well, he was extremely glad he had Armin and Mikasa in his life. You could also make an argument that his love and attachment to Mikasa was all Ymirs doing - we will never know.
You simply have to understand Eren Yeager after he got future memories. He died, then and there. What took over was a persona that knew of his doom, and the suffering he would cause to everyone around him, the fact he killed his own mother, as well. And on top of that, he had to play pretend as a sinister lunatic, force Yeagerists into a plan that will kill them all, for essentially nothing, break his bonds with Mikasa and Armin - and this is especially important, as the last 2 people on the planet that trusted him back then - were those 2. He knew there was no way out. He had to go to Liberio and kill innocent people. A big hint of all of this is his talk with Ramzi - that turkish boy. That's where real Eren peeked out for a second. Literally, what's the point in saving the kid? I'm forced into killing him later, anyway. For a resolution I'm not sure of. To "free" a creature I know nothing of. Eren Yeager, who represented freedom, knew he was the biggest slave in all of existence - from the moment he was born. A slave to some primordial power he did not understand.
What can one 19 year old kid do against such odds? He can only break down, and suffer, as he did, until the end.
Eren Yeager isn't "based", "genocidal" or "evil", he's an extremely tragic character that wanted one thing he could never have - freedom.

Hm. I usually drop these kind of shows 3 episodes in. However, this show just barely managed to pull through. I gave it an 8, but honestly I don't know how to rate it. I'll just keep watching it till the end, for the following reasons.
Style. That 3 star review is spot on - this show is definitely style over substance. We all saw this story - depressed girls fighting in a magical world trying to develop their characters and reach a nice conclusion. Same old. But damn, the style is really good. I think they're using rotoscoping and CGI, though I'm not 100% sure.
...
I really like the MC's voice - sounds like an actual teen girl, instead of the eardrum shattering squeaks you usually hear. Yeah, the 4 main girls are full of before seen tropes, but its ok. The art is lovely, the show is very fluid and somewhat realistic, for example they're using real life art locations in the opening for the most part. No fanservice as well, which is pretty good.
This show kind of reminds me of Flip Flappers. IMO, FF is a lot better than this, but it is similar. Is it worth a watch? Hell yes. It's better than most things this season anyway. Will it be remembered for the time to come? No.

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS
Every once in a while, once in a century, once in a millenia, once in an eon, humanity gets a shining star. A star that reshapes humanity for times ahead, a star, that, despite being a mortal human, remains immortal in history. Jesus Christ, Caesar, Da Vinci, Tesla, Einstein, Newton, Aristotle, and many others. All of them died thinking they accomplished barely anything, or nothing at all. It is only years, CENTURIES later, that we begin to understand what they did for humanity. As such, Shingeki no Kyojin can not be appreciated by any of us, since we have many decades, or
...
centuries yet, to reach Hajime Isayama. What these men did on the fields of technology and etcetera, Isayama did for the culture and arts, forever immortalizing Eren Yeagers true patriotism, revenge AND FREEDOM. There is not a single doubt in my mind that Shingeki no Kyojin will stand the test of time, hanging in Louvre, and be studied in schools for centuries to come. Callling Shingeki no Kyojin an anime or a manga is an insult to it, as Shingeki no Kyojin is an ETERNAL, IMMORTAL PIECE OF ART. I was actually in doubt for a long time if I should even leave a review on “MyAnimeList”, as this is a general purpose “anime/manga” website. SnK is the La Gioconda of the 21st century. In other words, KINO beyond human understanding.
ART 10
I had my doubts with the studio change, as WiT wasn't perfect, but was more than enough. However, despite having CGI Titans and some funky rotoscope, Mappa proved they can, and will, provide nothing short of what Isayama intended, which is pure and perfect kinematographique. The scenes flow beautifully, they don't seem to be rushing anything important, minus the Annie scene from the invasion in manga, the colors are beautiful and actually fit with the manga, as WiT was a bit too colorful. Nothing more to say. I gave WiT a 10, and since they had its flaws, it’s only fair Mappa gets a 10 too.
SOUND 10
This is self explanatory, we have the same audio team as before, which was perfection. Sawano's name speaks for itself. That's all. Opening is amazing, ending is amazing. Easily the best opening song we got so far. Unfortunately, some casuals like to ruin art by shoehorning lyrics that are not there. The very noise of “My War” represents suffering in audio form, which needs no human lyrics. It is also very likely the OP is going to evolve, as experienced enjoyers can notice some subtle manga hints in the backgrounds of the opening.
CHARACTERS 11
Rating this just a 10 is a shame, since characters are what makes this anime great. Young warriors, especially Gabi, lack so much on so many fronts, and definitely bring a weird and unsavory taste in the later parts of manga. You will fairly soon realize that leaving Armin alive was a mistake, and for some reason, everyone except one character loses half of their IQ. So why did I give this section an 11? Because we still have this one man. One man who started as a victim of a senseless war he wanted no part of. Ever since that day, he swore revenge. And in Liberio, humanity got reminded. They lived in fear of the Usurper, and slowly awaited their massacre. Bravo Isayama. We also have Floch, who started out as a literally who, only to end up the best character of the manga, short of Eren. Every scene of his made me get up from my chair, and kneel to his patriotism. Floch-dono, you will NOT be forgotten. They have to keep moving forward, until their enemies are destroyed. Even if they die. Even after they die. Long live Eldia.
ENJOYMENT 10
I've been reading the manga since 2009. That's 11 years and 3 months I've spent most of my days studying and appreciating this masterpiece. From the first panel where Eren had a strange dream and posed some strange questions, I understood I was in for a far more wilder ride than I could ever think of. But I honestly can't advise everyone to watch/read it. As I said, this isn't an anime, nor a manga. This is art. And as some people will look at La Gioconda and only see a plain woman, most of the so called "AoT fans” fall in that category. Unironically, Shingeki no Kyojin takes a very fine taste and high IQ to understand, so if you're an academic, a scholar with a fine taste, hop in and enjoy. It just might awaken something in you.
OVERALL 10
There's nothing else to mention. All I can say is, praise the patriots, and hang the traitors. LONG LIVE THE GLORIOUS ELDIAN EMPIRE AND DEATH TO ITS ENEMIES.

Holy mother of kino. I completely expected a soulless cashgrabbing garbage to fund Bleach 2021, but I was absolutely surprised. Burn the Witch is the only anime I didn't drop at episode 1 in 2020, and not because other shows this year were absolutely horrible, they were, but Burn the Witch is so god damn good.
Let's get this out of the way. I am a fan of Bleach, been one for some 12 years now. But these 3 episodes, or should I say, 1 movie, took me in way faster than anything Bleach EVER did.
Interesting characters? Check.
Amazing power system? Check.
Amazing animation? Check.
Bleach references? Check.
Kubo once
...
again showed why he is a master of character design, if not story telling at least. But BTW GENUINELY has a great premise. The series fully deserves to be completely adapted, and I can easily see it overcoming Bleach, in both quality and popularity.
To keep this short, it's an amazing watch, doesn't even matter if you saw/read Bleach or not. This movie is absolute quality of the highest standard, and it is surprising it comes from a hack like Kubo, who butchered the ending of Bleach. Give it a watch, for sure.

Kino. Pure, undiluted, unsatured, unconfined kinomatographique. Shingeki no Kyojin, or Shingeki no Kino as I like to call it, is what comes up when you combine kino art, with kino story, with kino music. This anime feels like it's been the work of Spielberg, Eastwood, Nolan and Tarantino combined.
Story 10/10
As I've already caught up with chapter 117, I'm not gonna spoil this a lot. This season is about Erwin, Eren and Armin, really. Erwin coming to terms with his fate, Eren pushing forward, and Armin, well, you'll see. Eren continues his eternal quest for freedom and revenge, through ending his enemies, titan or human. You
...
can not stop this testosterone fueled beast, this Titan of Freedom. He can not be stopped even if you'd like to stop him. That man sees one goal and one goal only, freedom, and no one is about to stop his from achieving it. A bit closer to freedom by every minute, chapter and episode.
Art 10/10
WiT Studio gathered the best of the industry and told them "I want kino on screens. Nothing but pure kino, perfect lines and perfect colors. I want to fear for my life when I watch Shingeki no Kino."
And they delivered.
Sound 10/10
Hiroyuki "The Sound of Kino" Sawano is the man behind the greatness of this show, alongside Kaji and Isayama. YouSeeBigGirl, Call of Silence, and so many others elevate amazing moments to new heights. Linked Horizon is doing openings again. While the opinion is split on the newest opening, I have a firm one. Only an individual who read the manga, boasting an IQ of 130 and above can understand it's greatness. From the subtle hints of Marley, to the Shingashina Return spoilers, to the bits from every single opening depicting revenge, wings of freedom and fight, it's absolutely amazing. Voice Actors wise, we have Eren's VA, Kaji at the helm, which is so good, the writer of the manga based the character on him.
Character 10/10
My favorite part. It's just believable. Kid lost a mother, friends and everything else because of titans. What's he gonna do? Make friends and use power of friendship? Understand the other side and create peace? Nope. The only solution is pure, 100% genocide. No kiddy shit, there is only one real choice. We watch this cast through perils, and rarely, happy moments. No cringy stuff like romance, so if you're looking for that, stick with whatever seasonal trash is airing currently.
Enjoyment 10/10
It's hype. Pure hype. Unexpected, amazing, twists make sense. I don't want to spoil stuff, but man, you REALLY should be looking forward to the end of this arc, because this 10/10 anime turns into an 11/10 anime by the end. I for one welcome our new free overlord.
Overall kino/kino
Nothing else to say. It's the peak of the medium and nothing else in the history of story writing every came close to it.

A masterpiece that can not be put into words
As a long time JJBA fan (read the manga way before season 1 aired), I had my hopes of a faithful adaptation, but I understood it is very hard, considering JJBA is very hard. Nonetheless, DavidPro did an amazing job!
Story 10/10
Set in Italy in 2001, we meet Giorno. Your average thug at first sight, he does not mind ripping people off. If its money, it is hardly a problem. He does not associate with gangsters tho, because he does not do contract killings and is especially anti drugs, seeing that Italy and its kids
...
are ravaged by addiction. So this young man, who just happens to be son of Dio Brando himself, goes on a path leading to the death of the most prolific gang in Italy and its boss. He joins the gang itself in an attempt to overthrow the boss and clear the streets of Italy, with the help of Bruno, Narancia, Mista, Trish, Abbachio and Fugo, his own team, led by Bruno himself. His travels take him all over Italy, showing beautiful scenery, having amazing Stand fights, objectively, the best Stand fights in the entire JJBA franchise. DP added its own touch to the story which makes this a 10/10.
Art 10/10
I would say DP doesn't disappoint, but that's taking it easy. The art is absolutely AMAZING! 1:1 adaptation to manga, this is the truest we've ever seen to Araki's art. The animation is fluid and has weight to it. YOU FEEL THOSE PUNCHES. Color changes mid scene, flashes, special effects, it is ART.
Sound 10/10
DP back at it again with its sound effects, amazing opening sang by Coda (Bloody Storm, JJBA Battle Tendency) and an ending by Jodeci (Freekn' you). The sound effects make Stands stand out more than ever before in the series, I myself was caught off guard by sheer perfection of sound effects they used compared to other parts which were good on their own.
Character 10/10 If DP didn't add subtle touches, I would put it a 9/10, but they made Giorno into an actual character (in the manga he was lacking expression most of the time, being too stoic). Giorno feels very much real and I have no doubt that the rest of the crew is going to shine. This is the only time I can say that anime studio did not make a mistake by changing some things from the manga.
Enjoyment 10/10
This is JoJo. The title alone says it all. Over the top fights, amazing music, cool characters and designs, it has it all. It is absolutely amazing and eye catching, every frame along the way. I enjoy this part way more than the others, and the others were nothing short of a perfect score.
Overall 10/10
This is a passion work of DavidPro. Other parts were an adaptation, this is a passion work. Vento Aureo is what happens when perfect music, meets perfect setting, meets perfect characters, meets perfect studio.
