Story: 5
Although sharing a lot of similarities with other well-known tearjerking anime out there, I felt as if this one had barely any impact. I feel like it could've been dragged out longer for us to get closer to the characters and actually have some sympathy for them, or even let us experience different kinds of retrieval, maybe a bit more action? a bit more drama? In my opinion, any of them would've worked, but it was cut short at 13 episodes. I also feel like giving away the meaning of the show at the very first episode and making us realize how the MC is going to be hurt was another bad move. I couldn't really enjoy any of the normal, slices of life moments in the anime, because the thought that it's gonna end was always on my mind, even then I somewhat knew what was gonna happen and tried not to dig myself deeper. The ending was also sort of underwhelming, I'm not sure what kind of expectations I had before I saw it, but I feel like they could've made it sadder somehow, besides that they did an alright job wrapping it up.

The anime had very good animation, it's probably one of the stronger points in the anime, the characters had solid movement when needed, the backgrounds were staggering, and the amusement park itself (but in this case I suppose I'm mainly talking about the Ferris wheel) was also very beautiful. It was actually one of the better animations I've seen in anime like this that I really liked, it was wholesome, it was fluid, and it did a very good job overall.
Sound: 8
I've stated in a previous review that I barely focus on the soundtrack unless there were one or two songs that I enjoyed hearing and wanted to hear more, but the more I think about it, sad animes almost always have a good soundtrack, it's a given at this point. I will probably check out the soundtrack right after I'm done writing this and listen some more to make me feel better about this anime.
Character: 4
Oh boy, this was kind of a no-brainer, to be honest. Almost every character had their personalities and attitudes laid out from the beginning, yet at some points, it still felt overused, in this case, I'd have to use Kazuki as a prime example, or even Michiru, but both of them count at the end of the day. Their backstories or flashbacks (mainly those two characters cause those were the only important ones besides the main cast) were fine I guess? It didn't really make me think any less or more of them, they did a decent job of adding material to the story itself and providing more information.
Enjoyment: 5
Yeah, even before going halfway it was blatantly obvious how it was gonna play out, boy falls in love with robot, their relationship is rocky at first, robot has barely any time to live, the boy insists on being with the robot until the very end, robot resets, boy cries, the end. It seemed too predictable yet it actually played out close to what I had imagined, even from the concept that the AI have to be retrieved it was plain to see it was going to happen to Isla as well. All in all, I think it was just a second-rate Angel Beats from my perspective, overly kind but dense MC, emotionless at first but later cute white-haired loli heroine, but at least this time only one person kinda died.

At first, I thought it was going to be a teacher-student thing only (I was partly right) but I really wasn't prepared for how the whole thing was going to play out, cause what I've seen is surprisingly bad.
The story is, I guess mediocre? Although there are like 2 unexpected turns in the story, besides that it's really just the minimum that you would expect, I'm not saying that's a bad thing but it doesn't ultimately qualify as a good thing either.
The art was nice, same thing with the story but I kind of enjoyed it more, it had nice angles here and there, ALTHOUGH

in some portions when they're actually fucking each other, the movement looks unnatural, but even then that didn't happen too often for me to point it out that much.
The sound was what really turned me off, I'm not sure if its supposed to make you feel bad or guilty or whatever, because it was just ominous or sad as far as I remember, each time and in each scene it really threw me off.
Characters were good, the tsundere was rough at the beginning but naturally she changed, along with the kind older sister, didn't have any problems at all with them to be fair.
Enjoyment was poor, the first-time scenes and the music really don't go well together, at least for me. It made me sad and guilty rather than horny which was an unfortunate process I had to endure for both episodes.
Overall it's a 4 for me. Definitely not my cup of tea, but I can see how it can be for some people. Not the worst but not entirely good either, oh I just remembered how the perfume or whatever it was didn't even make that much sense cause at first it was supposed to be a narcotic or something, and then it changed colour and didn't work at all on the older sister. Maybe there was something I missed but I was confused about that aswell.

The story about a juvenile former-gang leader becoming a teacher, dealing with his key students, and with massive luck solving almost every problem possible. GTO is a really good anime in my opinion, maybe even a 9/10 but I still felt as though they could've done more with some characters (Murai's admirer, Teshigawara sensei, and Hidemi Oota). Besides those small problems that could've had a better explanation or a better end to them, GTO really is a great anime. Although after a while you somewhat expect everything to work out since that's the whole theme of the series, I was always surprisingly intrigued to see

how the problems are going to be solved, it could either end with a life lesson or end with violence, peace, fleeing, and more, basically, I really enjoy how it doesn't try to be as simplistic as possible. The characters also -even if easily hated at the beginning- have their redeeming qualities shown near the end and make a great cast in my eyes. I was a bit disappointed when I saw how different the manga and the anime handled its ending, but at the same time, I wouldn't say that that reason alone destroyed my enjoyment of the show. The comedy itself, although sometimes repetitive, did make me laugh a lot of times while watching it, so that also made it more enjoyable for me. Overall I give it an 8/10 but quite close to a 9/10.

Story: 4
I will admit, even if it seemed cheesy, the whole introduction to the kiss note and the power it contains didn't seem that bad to begin with, but unfortunately, even that key item was burned, then replaced with a cellphone, and then it basically gets left out for most of the story. What I actually found interesting that at first, it wasn't actually a super lewd anime like To Love Ru or Infinite Stratos, and it actually had me surprised when they showed intimacy in the show without actually including the main character (I'm talking about the class pres and the

teacher here). I also feel like they could've done more and explained what Stolas is, why he is a penguin, and why he is particularly interested in Akua, or explain how Shikimi has those powers, what her branch family is like, and how she hasn't already taken over everything. I get that it's supposed to be a comedy and not meant to be taken too seriously, but for me, I could really only find joy in speculating the things that weren't really explained in the end. (References were decent, the comedy was not my cup of tea, but it did have moments when it was funny)

I actually didn't find anything wrong with the art at first, or how the characters looked, but sometimes you can find things at certain times which makes you question if the animators really paid attention or not, for example, episode 10 on 10:27 Seiji's legs are somehow inverted and the shadows are unusual as well, this one really caught my attention, besides that I could only complain about how sometimes the characters' eyes were sometimes a bit too high but that's easier to miss, so now I'm just venting.
Sound: 4
It mainly just used cheesy soundtracks so that didn't really get me anywhere, there was one song near the end of episode 6 that was decent but I couldn't really find anything about it, because the only song that the anime actually has is its opening...
Character: 3
Quite poor, even if they're literal representations of their own tropes, I don't think they were likable at all, or at least at first, the only interesting character development we ever got was Akane actually noticing Yuzu's existence and Akua kicking Stolas I guess? Besides that we've got :
Yuzu starting to fall in love with Seiji (It's a harem anime, what do you expect?), and Guri trying to understand love, then trusting the same girl that once tied her friends up in front of her and tried to kill them. (I'm sorry if I come off rude, but Guri really was a nuisance at the beginning of the show, I saw no redeeming qualities later, but I guess we were meant to feel bad because she didn't get any attention? And that she actually trusted that kleptomaniac??? It's gotta be her own fault for being this oblivious I swear.)
Enjoyment: 4
There were definitely times where I stopped to think if this anime is going to better or not, and most of the times I was proven wrong, it rarely made me laugh, more-or-less actually annoyed at times (Comedy is subjective, forgive my shitty humor and me not enjoying this show) but the ending wasn't bad nor really good at all, it was a convenient way of ending the show, but in the end, it didn't make me hate it as much as I did, maybe the 12 episodes were enough to make the characters bearable at the very least from my perspective. (Except Shikimi)
Overall: 4
At most I would give it a 6 but with the plotholes, and some other minor mistakes I decided I would give it either a 4 or 5, then rated each piece of the anime (by that I mean story, art, etc.) and decided on a 4. Maybe the choice of including other types of romances was somewhat redeeming, cause we don't actually see that that much (Yuri, Yaoi, whatever, basically anything other than the harem).

Blood Lad is the type of anime that you would enjoy if it was your first anime, reminisce, rewatch it, and then begin doubting your tastes overall. While bearing -at the very least- an interesting concept of a story, it sadly went mediocre for me in the first hour or less of watching it.

(and probably did) criticize and deem the plot as shaky at some times, which I wouldn't really disagree with, but the mundane storytelling got me so bummed, all I could churn out was the obvious point, that it was really nothing special. Maybe the references could be viewed as surprisingly enjoyable but for me, it didn't really change anything, maybe its comedy was the only bearable thing and changed the story from a 4 to a 5 for me I guess.
Art: 6
I will say, the art is pretty good even when there aren't that many fight scenes in the anime itself, it gives off an optimistic aura on the viewer that helps them to keep watching and enduring the show, its portrayal of the comedy it showed was also decently done, and I'm the type of person that doesn't mind, actually appreciates the "well-versed" art styles that they gave to the female characters, as horrible as I may sound.
Sound: 6
I rarely pay attention to sounds in animes unless it really catches my attention and I end up liking them and listening to them until I get sick of them, in this anime I didn't find any that I personally enjoyed, but at the same time there were none that I disliked for any reason. Therefore it gets a neutral score from me
Character: 3
Even before meeting any characters, most of the time you can easily tell what kind of person they could be and what they would do or not do to affect to story, in this instance, most of the characters are pretty stale and that alone made it a bit unenjoyable to get attached. I'm guessing the spotlight mainly shines on our main character, Staz, which is understandable, in a way he can be considered the most interesting character as of now, besides that you've got your usual tropes.
Wolf - best friend with an inferiority complex
Fuyumi - basically Hinata but nerfed and quieter
Bell - the other girl in a love triangle that's the fan-favorite to win but usually loses
Enjoyment: 4
My previous points stand firm and also apply here, also ending the anime on a cliffhanger is just adding insult to injury at this point...
Boy was it disappointing, yet I would still watch an unlikely continuation just to see how worse it gets. (just kidding, I'd only watch it to see more of Bell or what happened with Akimu near the end)
Overall: 4
More suited to new anime viewers in my opinion, and the reverse for older ones I would assume, if you're just wanting to finish a short 10 episode anime then I wouldn't stop you from watching it, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if you weren't satisfied with how it ended.

Compared to other reviews which compare the anime to its original material, I have not read any of Ito Junji's mangas and watched this anime with no expectations presented beforehand.
For me personally, I mainly enjoyed the second part of the anime (7-12 episodes), the ones prior either didn't seem that intriguing or all that enjoyable to indulge in, of course, I'm not saying that the stories were particularly bad, some of them were enjoyable, but most of them weren't that interesting.
The animation sometimes felt underwhelming especially in scenes where they were supposed to be crucial (i.e. Honored Ancestors and Supernatural Transfer Student for
...
example).
There were stories which I really enjoyed, such as Painter (ep 9), Smashed (ep 12), Used Record (ep 7), and Town of No Roads (ep 7). Souichi's tales were also surprisingly amusing and enjoyable at times.
Overall I would give it a 6, some stories were very intriguing and some others were either not well done (animation-wise), or didn't seem that good from my perspective, but that is only my opinion.

Momoko is one of those hentais that I found surprisingly enjoyable not for its erotic action, but for its laid-back slice of life feel to it despite being hentai. While the art sometimes seems wacky, thus not really giving any charm to the erotic scenes, for me personally the elegant music that played with it was soothing enough for me to look past it. The story itself may seem a bit rushed (For example in the second episode with the chief suddenly being horny), but I enjoyed the characters and the chemistry they had (Well, in this case only

I'm guessing this was made to encourage shut-in viewers that physically let go of themselves over time. While at most this seemed to be a decent idea as inspiration for those people, over time I came to witness the unrelenting persistence and unwavering passion to lose weight that Hinako had possessed. going made me rethink everything I ever thought about my body weight and mindset. The ED was kind of confusing and seemed unrelated to the OVA as a whole.
At the very least this OVA is a revelation, and if needed, could motivate with your exercise if you desire to do so, although previous preparation and stamina training would be highly recommended from me.

Besides mainly being known and hated for its CGI, I think this anime does, at most a decent job of portraying the plot. Sure, sometimes the sound quality is bad and the animation itself switches from 2D to 3D for some reason, but over time I just became used to it and didn't focus on it that much. The addition of the new characters wasn't good nor bad as well, some were bearable, others were probably meant to be hated and created for that reason. I haven't read the manga so this review might seem a little kindhearted compared to other ones, but I think

storywise it did a decent job. I'd recommend this for the people who really enjoyed the previous adaptations of Berserk (both the 90's series and movies included) and wanted to see more of the story. The opening and the soundtrack were also enjoyable, but mostly the stiff and sometimes bizarre CGI brings it down to a 4 for me.
