A group of friends, school setting, slice of life elements, cute art, romance with some back story which affects the present, love triangle and similar feeling. Refreshing main females and cool type of main males. Though the male in Sora to Kimi to has a simpler and easy to get along with personality, unlike the one in Ao Haru Ride.

Lots of love drama between handsome men around our main lady who is unable to choose one. Peach Girl pace is slightly lighter than 100% Perfect Girl but the bittersweet drama is still always there. Main female attracts attention for good or bad reasons. Same feeling, structure, jealousy and misunderstandings.

Kyou no Kira-kun
|
Demographics and premises in both mangas are kind of different but the way the story between the main characters is developed is actually very similar. Main girl and boy are neighbors and under certain circumstances they start a friendship which slowly turns into a romance. This point of the story is very well managed by these two series. Kyou no Kira-kun and Bonnouji manage to capture your attention from the very first chapter. Bonnouji's characters are simpler and more grown up than Kyou no Kira-kun's, and the latter has more drama and a heartbreaking fact of one of the characters going on. Warm fuzzy feeling, cute art and realistic aspects are a plus.

It's hard not to compare this horror titles once you've read both. These stories are very grotesque, bizarre and perfectly displays a lot of horror factors at once. Art in both mangas is as good as it's scary, and they represent a dark and enigmatic atmosphere very well. Importance is given not only to one character but actually a few. Fourteen is a long twenty volumes manga while Litchi Hikari consists of only one.

Kyou wa Kaisha Yasumimasu.

Although Flower Garden it's a really short story, and KKY is a longer drama, the story is incredibly similar with an older woman that after a night of drinking, finds herself in the morning sharing the same bed with a younger guy and can't remember anything about what happened, at all. Flower Garden has a strange art, and cliches that Kyou wa Kaisha Yasumimasu doesn't, afortunately. But in general, these are the stories of older women, and their daily problems and worries in their brand new love-life with a very young, but mature guy.

These two stories deal with an older woman and her encounters with a younger guy. Both stories represent very well their respective demographic. Toshiue no Hito is a lot more mature, and involves more mature situations (aka, sex scenes), the relationship between the main characters is a lot more sexual than you can expect it to be, and Kyou wa Kaisha deals more with romance and drama, the older woman and her worries regarding love-life.

Fantasy and mystery as one of the main subjects in both series.

Despite being two different sports, cycling and tennis, this series share some interesting similarities. Somehow, our main guy ends up relating himself with a girl who helps him to get to enter the cyclism /tennis world. The relationship development between main girl and guy it's as important as the sport itself. Noririn plays with older characters and has a more mature tone, while Baby Steps gives off a very relaxed environment, yet when it comes to matches, deals a lot with strategies and concentration. If you like interesting male characters, competitive environment and romance subplot, go and read this two titles.

Helping others to survive and fight against dangerous species (man-eating creatures at Eden no Ori, purple murderous orbs "cells" at Afterschool Wars Activities) at the risk of their own life. That's what you will get while reading Afterschool War Activities and Eden no Ori. The real human nature in front of a life or death situation, the terrifying 'fight if you want to live' line, thrilling action and romantic subplot. A couple of differences would be that AWA doesn't focus in what they're trying to fight, but the reason why are they fighting, boys and girls adapting to survival and strengthening relationships. They're also trained by militaries so the enigma scenario is supervised. In Eden no Ori instead, highschool students are marooned on a strange island and have to fiddle around alone, unaided. Disastrous events, harsh environment and an eternal struggle to maintain sanity, take these two series to become absolutely recommended for those who seek for action, survival and lots of despair.
