Looking for another masterpiece for the mature guys where the story is filled with unpredictable twists and you just get amazed by what's going to happen next? Want brilliant character design, depth and development like some of those great shows? The plot might not be as complex as in AoT as you'd see later, but the character complexity outweighs it by a far edge. (ermm idk the perfect idiom but-- you just get what im trying to tell, okay?) The same studios which animated AoT- Wit studio and Mappa bring you another thought-provoking story with the same quality, compelling you to dive into your ideals, with two protagonists who keep struggling to live in a harsh and cruel world, for a similar reason, only to AVENGE. For those super analytical people who like to learn about human characters and beliefs, these two shows are if not, then one of THE best examples, hell, I'd even say perfect. Ngl, not jumping onto the next episode was difficult, the same feeling as in AoT, so if you have good willpower, DO NOT binge watch it. Especially, towards the end of the season, I'd prefer that you keep thinking about how this show gives us the one of the best messages delivered in all of anime. Eren and Thorfinn, the two protagonists who may look similar at first glance, may choose different paths later ahead on in life, making a great example of comparing and contrasting. A bunch of questions which arose in my mind after watching them, you MAY NOT want to read them, if you want to explore the depths of your mind on your own-- Who are the enemies and why are we fighting them? Are there even enemies out there? Is what we are doing all our life really worth it, does it make our life meaningful? How bad can people get? How good can people get? Now, I don't want to spoil the whole story, because this is just a little less than what I'd heard about Vinland Saga before I started, and I gotta give kudos to it because it has taught me one of the best things in my life. Personally, I love how the mangaka presented the story to get the message delivered, making it even better in the anime. Your opinion might or might not be different, so if you care about finding what a purpose in life means, you'd definitely love to give it a try. Vinland Saga might be slow in the first few (3 or so) episodes, but after that, the story just gets Breathtaking. I wish you a good journey as you are about to change yourself for the greater good. Remember the wise words that you'll hear in the 1st or 2nd episode- "You have no enemies" because this is where AoT and Vinland Saga split on crossways. Good luck. Signing off, a random person on the internet who wants to help.
