Before I gave this show a chance, I used to think that it was not the show for me. Firstly - I was not all that into basketball; second - the genre tags did not interest me one bit. If you were like me and grew up watching shows like "Shakugan no Shana", or "Angel Beats", you would probably share my opinion. Right now, I am up to episode 6. It is 2AM and I have my first day back of school tomorrow, but I simply can't stop watching. Here is why:
Many Animes tend to make the main character overpowered, and exaggerate their brute strength
...
(or miraculously give them the power to 'believe', as to magically give them a boost of strength so they can overcome their struggles) so they can gain admiration from the show's viewers. This is not the case in "Kuroko no Basket". The main character - Kuroko - in contrast, is extremely weak compared to the other characters in the series (arguably the weakest). However, that does not make him useless. Instead of making the main character a complete powerhouse, Kuroko is more of an accessory - a utility - which in this case really makes this Anime shine. This simple detail makes us realise what the concept of 'teamwork' really means in Basketball (and other sports, as well).
Being only 1/4 my way through the series, I do not have too much to write - i might add more later on. However, I believe that you should give Kuroko no Basket a shot (no pun intended), even if you think it's not for you. I, myself, got hooked on the first episode.

What makes this particular series so enjoyable is... well, to be honest, not many people can explain WHY they love 'Spice and Wolf', or the songs used in it. I found myself downloading MP3 versions of both Openings only to listen to them over and over again on repeat. I find it strange because I wouldn't usually like this kind of music.
I will try my best to explain in words why I have come to fall in love with Spice and Wolf.
The story is of a merchant named Kraft (Craft?) Lawrence who unexpectedly comes across a wolf harvest deity named Holo.
"Okay, typical boy-meets-girl romcom" -
...
uh, no.
I would first like to ask you think of the word "Intimacy". What does it mean to be intimate? Certainly, if a couple is ready to 'do' eachother in bed, they are considered 'intimate'. But what is TRUE intimacy? Can two people be close and share a bond so strong that nothing could pull them apart, even though they've never shared a kiss, or swore an oath? That is what most Anime series are lacking. They do not attempt to build and weave a bond so unseparable that even God himself can't tear them apart - instead, they get right to the sex-scenes or kissing scenes, etc etc. Spice and Wolf is clean, innocent, and very emotional.
Holo - the main female protagonist of the series - is depicted as a Lone Wolf (literrally) at first, who rarely makes interaction with humans. After having met Lawrence - the main male protagonist - well, things changed. For better or for worse? Well, who knows?
The music really complements the series nicely. Again, I wouldn't usually like songs like these, but I just couldn't help myself. The atmosphere portrayed by the songs and the Anime itself is strong enough to make you shed tears. "Romantic, vintage, classy, and sweet" are the words that come to mind, but you cannot really explain it. It's just that inseparable bond... I guarantee you will cry at least once watching this!

How could a gynophobe - a person with an irrational fear of women - ever come to fall for a girl?
How could an overprotective, anti-social (and cross-dressing) girl that has never in her life made one friend get intimate with a guy?
This is a Love Story about an unlikely couple - a Wavering Butler, and a 'Chicken' who finds love and comfort in one another. That is, after several embarrassing scenes, events, and misunderstandings.
I really liked the artwork, music, and voice-acting here - the artwork had a 'light' and 'happy' feel to it, and the music supplemented that atmosphere. The voice-acting was awesome. It was
...
lively, and realistic. When a character cried - they cried. When someone laughs - they laugh. When someone blushes - they blush. When someone gets hit by a car - they scream.
Honestly - the voice-acting is phenomenal. It really gives life to the whole anime and I loved every part of it.
Why don't you see for yourself?

I am going to be completely unbiased - this is an outstanding anime so far with an original plot. ** It is unfair to judge this anime based on the character's hairstyle, and give it a low rating just because it has some ecchi scenes. I certainly will not be doing that. **
For starters, the character names. They fit really well with the characters themselves. First up - Kubrick Fear. As stated in the synopsis, she is basically a torture machine in the form of a girl; Fear. Her actual form, and primary weapon would be the 'cube'. Kubrick being 'Cube' and 'Brick'.. get it?
...
Get it?! :D
'Yachi Haruaki', the main male protagonist in the story. "Yachi" in Japanese means fortune, or good luck. I'd have to concur, as Haruaki claims that curses do NOT affect him whatsoever.
The plot is fantastic and original. Materializing 'torture' machines to do away with your opponents. And the way they are summoned and the incantation (in my opinion) is way cool! It is not your typical 'Swordfight' anime or 'Trigger-happy' anime. It gives a medieval feel, because torture machines were created way back when they were necessary for interrogations.
I always thought Muramasa Konoha (I never noticed her surname, 'Muramasa' until now) was only going to be the typical USELESS (emphasis on useless) 'big-breasted' friend who would always try to steal the main character away from the female protagonist (references to Yoshida from 'Shakugan no Shana', and Siesta from 'Zero no Tsukaima'). I was horribly mistaken... SHE CAN TRANSFORM INTO A FREAKING SWORD! I should have seen that coming, though; her last name is 'Muramasa'.
The Opening song is pleasant to the ears. It kind of reminds me of something out of CLANNAD, or Touhou. I found Fear's dance really cute and charming.
I said I was going to be unbiased, but that was a lie. I have a fetish for tsunderes (although, you know who you tsundere-fans are!), and Fear is an ADORABLE one. Her actions, her expressions, her love for food. Wow. 10/10
On top of the vocal/musical masterpieces, we have visual artwork. I really like how the eyes were done in this Anime, and also I like how Fear's hair shines rainbow. It's very appealing to the eyes, in my humble opinion.
Character development is a big one. Unlike other animes, where they pour all this information on you (most of the information being irrelevant or useless), Cube x Cursed x Curious slowly thickens the plot, and distributes background information on each character at a nice pace. Right now, we know very crucial details about Fear, Haruaki, and Konoha that help us digest the story a lot easier.
Overall, I give this anime 10/10!
