I am pulled IN by this manhwa. I haven't read much of it yet, but the chapters are considerably long. I love the art a LOT. It's very detailed, although because it is in black and white it is hard to distinguish some images or what is going on.

The manhwa, centered around a boy and a girl trapped in the aftermath of an apocalypse is very dark indeed. There are cannibals, rabid dogs and mud falling from the sky. Including maggots. Do NOT read if you are queasy to maggots and bugs.

Also, there are many translations available on Webtoon, spanning from English to ... Arabic.

I'm assuming that many of the people who have written reviews for this anime are people who regularly watch harem/ecchi anime. I am not of the sort.

The only reason I actually started this anime was because of that one video that went around last year from the second season's dub, where Sena had to say something funnily incestuous.
The first episode seemed a little boring, but the opening song was too catchy so I couldn't resist. It began to flow as more characters were introduced, each with their own unique personality:

The quiet but snarky girl, the princess, the fujoshi, the younger sister with the brother ... complex, the loli nun (people may get angry at me for saying this but come on. they sexualize her so subtly yet so noticeable), the trap maid who wants to be a samurai, and the MC. The rumored yankee-delinquent.

Even though there were so many tropes, and some lines said gave me second-hand embarrassment or were cringy, I still was able to laugh at the stupidness of some of the characters or the witty jokes or even Sena running out of the room (or wherever they were) yelling: "Stupid Yozora!!"

For some reason I would smile while watching it. Each episode was a new club activity where they would go to a new place and do some fun things, and most of the time the two main female protagonists bickering with each other. It was easy to find a favorite character- mine was the nun girl lmao. I always laugh because her mannerisms are so funny and she just tells everyone they're poop. Not a redeeming quality on her part or on mine but her voice just adds to it.

The art was mediocre, but the eyes are very well drawn. Each character had their own style (some wore the same outfit a lot) and their own features, making them easily distinguishable.

Don't watch around parents. Please.

Yes, the premises and the subject of this anime are basic. It's not supposed to be realistic. Yes, her voice totally changed after she lost weight and she became the definition of y/n (you'll know what I mean if you go on wattpad/ao3).

However, even though I haven't finished it yet, I'm really enjoying this anime. The theme song is fun, the boys' personalities vary, and there are lots of laughs. Each boy has a different personality and characteristics: one is rowdy and thinks highly of himself, one is quiet and respectful, one is a bishonen tsundere, and one is... basically prince aladdin? I think ... you're supposed to relate to the main girl (Kae), as she's an otaku and likes hot guys, but:

Even after all the comedy and cuteness, I find that the anime is promoting unhealthy beauty standards. Lots of girls are uncomfortable with their body shape, no matter what it looks like. I bet lots of girls wish they could wake up after a week and look completely different and have boys/girls gushing all over them. Younger girls might think that if they do this, they will have this too. Now, that's a very small possibility that girls would think that but this anime IS putting that idea out there.

Lastly, the idea of fujoshis is taken very far. In a way, it's kind of taken to a level where it becomes pervertish. Different fujoshis act differently, and don't all act the same way. Before I started this anime, I thought that Kae was the type of girl who'd just read yaoi manga and shipped characters and such, but that was not the case. She ships the boys in her school, which I feel isn't a bad thing unless they know about the ship, if that makes sense? It's just that she gets all gross about it when any sort of homoerotic thing happens, and instead of acting normal and just fangirling in her head, she gets all drooly and NOBODY SEEMS TO NOTICE.

That's what irks me about this anime, but its' pros outweigh the cons. I guess I mostly wrote about the cons, but whatever. Please watch this anime!

"SLIGHT SPOILERS AHEAD!*

This was sad, in a way. Considering the condition of the boy, it really was sad. I personally didn't like the story all that much because the ending was confusing, plus I didn't understand the time-skip very well. The art was very good though.

Overall, this was a compelling story, and the situation the boy was in was unfortunate. I'm looking forward to reading more works by this mangaka, as their art is really good. I heard they do write a lot of shota though.

What's interesting, is that this author is a gay man himself, which interests me because most yaoi (non-bara) mangaka ... are female. But yeah, this man has a good imagination, however it's not entirely original. In the comments of the website I read, there are definite sides taken so this does spark some debates.

This anime had a unique art style.. similar to Japan Sinks 2020, so if you liked the art style there then you'll like this one.

I think some things didn't make sense. I guess it is up for the viewer's imagination/look at the implications and assume, but even at the end some things were unexplained and some characters' actions were just weird/did not align with the character's morals and did not have an explanation.

I did not expect this to be a sexual anime, as I had only heard this being talked about from friends and I watched it blindly. It had sexual content almost every ... episode--it being very explicit. There was a normal amount of gore for a psychological/thriller anime, so I wasn't too disturbed by that.

The story was very good however, and I really liked the character Ryo. He also made some good facial expressions lmao

I really like the art of this anime. Most animes produced in 2010-2011 have an interesting art style similar to the ones of the 2000s. Most are low budget, but I think since this was probably successful as a light novel they put lots of work into this. I'm watching in dub, although I did watch a few episodes in sub. The storyline is good so far, and there are still a lot of unexplained things but it's reasonable since I've only watched 10 episodes. Some characters I genuinely don't like, but hopefully I will get to like them in the future.
