this movie delivers everything i would hope for in terms of visuals and soundtrack and overall it was on pace to be an 8 or a 9.... until the ending.
i get that violet loves the major more than anything and i get she values him over basically anything, but i just feel it was such a stupid decision to have her stay on the island with him. she says hearing his voice and knowing he is ok was good enough for her, but that clearly wasn't the case. (also, how tf did she hear him yell for her?)

violet, he shouldve gone to laiden to see her, not have violet stay with him. I just cannot stand how the entire series was building showing how she can fit into society after the war and how she can live apart from the major but still love him from a distance, as well as getting to be free to live her life without orders from him, only to somewhat discard that for a "happy ending."
of course i know a lot of people are happy that it ended the way it did and thats good and nothing against them, just me personally i think the way the creators chose to end the series was terrible for violet's character.
also i am by no means an expert on the series since i only watched the anime but just from my POV i did not like the ending and thats why i dropped it down to a 5 instead of the 8-9 range
also i pray to god it was only a father daughter relationship bc i cannot imagine them in any other way
