I'm going to keep this short and sweet.
Darling in the Franxx starts out pretty rough. I barely kept up with it for the first half of the episodes. It wasn't terrible, but so much of it felt almost laughable in its heavy-handed execution.
But somewhere around its midpoint, I found myself suddenly very invested. The second half of the series was binge'd in one sitting after barely slogging through the first. The plot comes together, the characters start to shine, and it gets a good grip on your heart.
I can't guarantee everyone will love it, but if you're feeling adventurous, stick around until the end. You
