"Is being abandoned a reason to abandon others?" ~ Nozomi
There are some animes you can't describe, even if you really wanted to - sonny Boy is a good example.
You all can judge me, say "was you really watching this?" or "are you stupid?", but if anyone ask me to tell what happened there, I wouldn't be able to do it. But in the same time i love this show.
So that's my opinion:
~Art 8,5/10
At first I thougt that isn't extremely beautifull style and it's quite simple, but now I thing no other style would reflect the atmosphere of this anime. Saturated colors like this are
...
not common, but without it Sonny Boy would be a little less effective. (However, you must know that in this case I find it quite to please)
~ Music ?/10
In general, I don't always pay attention to it, only when it really impresses me BUT this time i do. Because it was practically gone. When I started watching this anime I was a little confused and in the second or third episode that I understood why - there was no music (ok, almost). But unexpectedly it didn't bother me. This silence in the most of scenes was strange and unusual in the same time, and I enjoyed that fact.
~ Characters 8/10
Everyone had unique character and was special in their own way. Sometimes they seemed too stereotypical, for example Cap was a typical popular sports boy, but I think it depends on the character and point of view. Definitely my favourite was Nozomi. She was mysterious and had something about her that distinguish her from the rest of the characters. I also liked Yamabiko, mainly for his interesing story. In the other hand is Nagara - sometimes I don't understand his feelings and decisions, but still he was quite good character. (yeaa, to many word "character" :/)
~ Plot 9,5/10
The idea itself is a bit common in anime - superpowers, journey between worlds and these things, but the first time I have seen this vision be realized in this way. And thats the thing I liked about this show the most.
Non-obvious. I can't say nothing else in this topic. Just wow.
~ Overall 8,6 ~~ 9/10
Watching it was like an adventure with a Little Prince, literally. Maybe it's stupid, but from the sixth episode I kept thinking to myself: God, they travel between worlds (like Prince beteween planest), encountering new characters, situations, non-obvious things. These two strories aren't the same, but both inspire my sentiment in a similar way.
My favoutite episodes was 8 (Yamabiko story about his world and War) and 11 (I really don't know why huh).
In the ending I was a little confused - I quite missed more interactions between Nozomi and Nagara, but it still touched me deeply.
I am aware of fact, that this anime isn't for everyone. Most of people who do not like to think or ponder the meaning probably won't like it. I recommend this show to anybody who:
- want to watch it in one day
(because this anime has a tendency to start episodes in such a way that for the first moment you have no idea what is going on and jump in time suddenly)
- is bored and want inspirations
- like non-obviousness, mystery and some hidden meanings (like me c;)
But that's not rule. So if you want to try, go ahead and watch Sonny Boy!
(Anddd sorry for my bad english, please don't judge me, it's not my native language ❛ᴗ❛)
