Everyone knows the story of Red-Riding Hood: a little girl, dressed in red clothes, who was sent by her mother to bring some food to her grandmother. It's a story that most children hear it; I do not remember how I felt then: maybe I was scared that the wolf ate the girl and her grandmother, or happy that the hunter solved the case and rescued the innocent people, or, I didn't care at all.
I wanted to talk a little bit about Charles Perrault's story because the movie is related to it. Jin- Roh is the version of Little Red-Riding Hood's story in a Japan
...
forced to grow economically and filled with anti-government protests. There are two stories, one inside of another; there is the fight between two organizations and there is the love between a terrorist girl and a soldier.
It was breathtaking for me to watch how their love didn't have a chance to fulfill because of their commitments. The beauty of the story is given by their symbolic names: the girl is a Red Riding Hood, meaning she is the one to carry bombs; the soldier is part of the "Wolf Brigade", a rebellious movement inside the organization he works for.
I am fascinated how this story reached new dimensions; it transformed into something deeper and very dramatic. I am very fascinated about how this movie was drawn: simple lines to build a face, a building. a car, a bird. The colors are well-balanced but the dark colors are more used because the action is happening mostly during night. The soundtrack had the exact amount of drama to cover the situation.
"Mother, what big ears you have!"
"Mother, what big teeth you have!"
"Mother, what big claws you have!"
I invite you to discover the meanings of these calls. I remind you that this is a version of Little Red-Riding Hood's story and the original one (pick which ever you want) is another proof that fairytales are just means of escaping from reality.

When I am writing this review for Paranoia Agent, I hear in my mind the ending theme of this anime- a soft and relaxing music, that calms you and makes you forget about your problems and worries and allows you to dream, create a beautiful illusion. It's a peaceful music, but it gives you the creeps if you hear it after an episode.
Why is that? Because the anime isn't about soft and nice things; it is about people who struggle, who want to run away from their fears, who desire an easy way from their problems. And what is their solution? Do not expect that
...
they will be brave enough to face themselves and make a step forward!
Paranoia Agent is Japanese anime television series created by director Satoshi Kon who’s very appreciated for other anime series and movies like Perfect Blue (1998), Millennium Actress (2001) or Tokyo Godfathers (2003). The story is about the mysteries behind the street assaults make by a school-boy called Shōnen Bat, or Bat Boy in Japanese.
This show is very clever made because it manages to involve emotionally the spectators; it doesn't have the background of a SF or of an ancient world. The viewers’ eyes are in Tokyo and they get to know the stories behind the victims of the street assaults: they meet the famous toy designer, the woman with a double personality, but they also meet the detectives, the Happy Family Planning, the gossip women. The story-line is well-made, coherent and it gives naturally the impulse of creating personal explanations and a meaning for what it is happening. Even the opening and the ending are very symbolic and they can be interpreted differently, depending on the viewers’ feelings.
When I finished watching this anime, I had the feeling that most of the characters were trapped in their own illusions, that their access to freedom was denied because of their peculiar personality. But, somehow these illusions grew bigger and bigger and managed to trap the whole world, making the reality a cage. Besides the feeling that the whole world seemed to be enclosed, the fact that the anime starts and finishes similar gave me the idea that those stories will repeat, but they will have different characters.
I highly recommend Paranoia Agent for its story-line, for its interesting characters and for the meaningful background and events. It seemed to me that everything happened with a reason and this anime will surely bring out creativity, analytical thinking and lots of enjoyment!

Hello there!!!
I watched Chaos;Head while I was waiting for the next episode from Stein's Gate to appear. I've read somewhere (I do not recall the web site) that these animes have in common the scientific approach. So, if I find Stein's Gate a very interesting anime, why wouldn't I try watching Chaos;Head?
And I wasn't wrong: Chaos Head was a delightful experience for me. I like very much the story, but, I am enthusiastic about the concept that built up that beautiful story.
The power to materialize a delusion- it's the power that is possed by Gigalomaniacs. They can bring weapons (usually swords) from a different dimension
...
and materialize in this reality. But, beside fighting with peculiar swords, they can use delusions to fulfill their wishes;except one person, they do not have the power to materialize those delusions, but, they can manipulate minds. The events are related to how a person discovers this ability and how this power is perceived by a normal mind or a large group of normal human beings.
My thoughts after seeing this anime were: delusions have many ways of working; they can destroy a person, but also, can be very useful. Delusions can be dreams of a pure and brave soul that wants to grow stronger, stronger and stronger.
So, give Chaos;Head a try!

What can I say about Wolf's Rain? It's a show that deserves your attention, but, i guess you won't watch it unless I convince you why it is a very good anime.
The opening song "Stray", sung by Steve Conte and written by Yoko Hanno (by the way, the song and the lyrics are awesome) makes the entrance in a world in which it was thought that wolfs had been extincted for 200 years. Those who are wolf lovers, do not worry, they did not exactly disappear- in order to protect themselfs from being killed, wolfs learned to change their animal form into a human
...
form. They would speak, walk, eat like any normal human (pretty cool, huh?).
The main character of this anime is obviously a wolf. His name is Kiba and he wants to find Paradise. There was an old legend saying that wolfs left Paradise in order to protect humans from being destroyed; after fighting with those monsters, wolfs didn't return to Paradise, but, when they succeed to do that, the world will come to an end.
The search for Paradise is not as easy as it seems. Kiba, together with his other wolf friends, Tsume, Hige and Toboe, are facing a lot of problems. They have to battle nobles, who, desire to reach Paradise in order to find their own happiness (geez, why do nobles have to be so greedy? they always have like everything they want). But soon, nobles discover on their own that they can not open the gates of the Paradise.
Will Kiba manage to find Paradise? The end of this show is very ambigous, but I think in a certain way, he succeeds. You should watch this anime too, and I am certain that you will have a different answer than mine.
Beside the story-line of this anime, I like how the characters are drawn. Kiba, a very proud wolf, in his human form is a handsome man with blue eyes, black hair, with a normal outfit. But, Tsume beats Kiba in how he looks and how he is dressed: Tsume is a rebellious guy and his black- leather pants and jacket suits him very well (not to mention the scar on his chest).
I love the opening and the ending song. "Stray", sung by Steve Conte and Gravity sung by Maaya Sakamoto, are songs written by Yoko Kanno. Both of these songs are connected to the theme of this anime- living in order to fulfill your dreams, your hopes, living to find your identity and your goal in life. Plus, both of this songs, make me feel I am somewhere very close to my dream.
In conclusion: watch this anime because it will show you a wonderfull story, some very interesting characters (wolfs that can turn into humans and not the oposite) and a refreshing music!!!
Thank you for reading my review. Hope you will watch Wolf's Rain!

I like Hikari a lot. Hikari is a high-school teenager who is in permanent competition with Kei, a boy whom she had known since their childhood. I repeat myself: I like Hikari a lot because of her fired-up spirit; she is a very energetic person, who wants to develop, to improve herself and her way of testing her evolution is to compete with Kei.
It is so amusing to me to see what kind of challenges Hikari invents so that she could measure up with Kei: Who does get the greater
...
grades? Who can run faster? Who can jump higher? The answer is the same for all questions: Kei. So, Hikari is the permanent “Miss Rank Two “.
But still, Hikari doesn’t lose hope; every time she seems to be more motivated to achieve what she wants. Hikari herself admits that if Kei succeeds by only trying once, she will succeed by hard work.
What I find admirable in Hikari’s character is her noble personality: she is very kind, very polite; even though she is in the elite class of her school, she doesn’t look down on anyone from other classes. She treats everyone equally, she tries to be of use as much as she can and she helps every person that calls for her. She is pure, and maybe this innocence of her can be confused sometimes with stupidity. But still, she gives the world a magnificent view: full of life and happiness.
Because the world can be seen different through her eyes, Kei falls for her. He, an introverted guy, with many international prizes won at a very young age, he, a boy who supports his family’s business, he, a teenager who is top 1 in his school, feels that something in his heart trembles. He realizes that he wants Hikari to be safe; that’s why he helps her no matter what.
At the beginning, Kei hided pretty well his feelings for Hikari: always annoying her because she was always the loser of their challenges; but Kei, opened up to Hikari. Although he received a delayed response from Hikari, Kei was happy because the girl felt the same way for him.
I like this story; it’s so pure, funny and deep. The good part is that this show has more than my review reveals. So, watch Special A Class. It is an anime that deserves your attention.

Imagine: you are having fun with a robot; but not an ordinary robot; it is a robot that is human-shaped and can compete with your best friend because it does everything you need. That robot, called persocom (from personal computer), has a program that allows it to function, and of course, that program can be modified, according to the owner's wish. How would you feel? I bet that you would be glad to have someone/something that is at last useful. No more lost time, no more useless chores, everything is going just perfect!!!
(get to the point!!! You liked it or not?)
If I had the
...
mind of a 12 year-old girl, I would have loved Chobits. I would have liked the world populated by persocoms. I would have loved the main female character, Chi, who is so adorable because of her fragility, her curiosity, her own way of learning about the world, her pure sentiments, not to mention the main male character Hideky, who is gentle, nice, adorable stupid and uneducated. I would have been delighted about the central ideea of this manga, expresed in very simple words "the person just for you" (an extraordinary definition of soule partener). And maybe, I would have agreed to marriage between humans and robots.
But, unfourtunatly for this manga, I am almost 20 years old. And Chobits didn't send me a strong message. I wasn't socked, I wasn't in tears at the end, I wasn't impressed at all. It seemed to be illogical (why create 2 twin persocoms to make them 2 sisters in a family where the mother could not have babies? was it that hard to adopt some kids? It feels unnaturally to behave like that, not to mention, illogical), very stupid in some parts.
(so... shall I read it or not?)
My case: I didn't like Chobits because I am a very rational person and this manga didn't give me enough arguments to believe in it. Still, I do not regret reading it, because I found out some very fun and interesting ideeas, that delighted me for a few moments.
I suggest you to read it: you never know what kind of feelings Chobits might wake up in your soule!!!

For me, Yagami Light is an adolescent who get tired of studying, watching tv or using his computer. He get bored of following the rules of a society that he dislikes a lot; when he found a note with the ability of killing people without letting a clue of his identity, he wanted to create a perfect world, a world in which he would be a god.
Although the idea of a world in which there are no "bad guys" is something wanted by most honorable citizens, Light will find out that he cannot make the changes he desires.
Death Note is an anime that
...
forces you to watch closely a fight between two concepts that are very hard to define: good and evil. Which path will you choose?

If your mother died in front of your eyes, what would you do?
If your sister lost her power to walk, what would you do?
If your father, an emperor, said that he didn't care about weak people, category in which your sister was included, what would you do?
If a stranger offered you an unknown power, what would you do?
These are the questions to which Lelouch tries to answer by creating his own path.
But, will he succeed to improve his situation?
If you ask me, he created a lot of distruction, he also caused pain to his dearest friends, not to mention the fact that he accidentally
...
ordered the killing of so many innocent people, who were not related to his hate.
For me, Lelouch is like Light from Death Note: he tries to change the world. Will he manage to do that?

I think that Neon Genesis Evangelion is the first anime to put me in such a trouble. Its story was so confusing for me, its characters seemed so hard to be understood, but the end of this anime surpassed in dificulty all the elements mentioned before. I cannot say that I liked this anime,no: I liked the fact that it provequed me to do a lot of thinking, in order to find a meaning for what happened.
In NGE (known also as Eva), the kids suffering from their parents'action gather. All of them have mental problems and find different ways to surpass them. The end of

NGE is an union of all human souls that makes possible the falling of all the spiritual walls built by humanity.
