Nanatsu no taizai is not your typical generic shounen anime, first arc may seem like it would be a very straightforward shounen plot but the story just gets more complicated from there on, it will be a bit hard to review this manga without any spoilers but I will try my best.
As mentioned earlier, The first arc had a fairly simple plot, a princess named elizabeth goes on an adventure gathering 7 legendary criminals, named as 'the seven deadly sins' who she thought was the only way to save
...
her kingdom. First arc was all about introduction half of the seven deadly sins and their mission saving the kingdom from the true criminals, the demon clan.
What is different in this manga compared to most other shounen, it does not focus too much on the main characters to develop powers as they are super strong to begin with, although they do develop new powers along the plot of the story. there's a lot going on in the background stories of the characters which the author reveals bit by bit and when more and more backstory unfolds, you then realize the first arc does not reflect the direction of where the story of this manga was going. there is undeniably a LOT of plot twist, to the point where sometimes I felt it was unnecessary and just confused the readers a bit too much. Currently at the latest arc, it is quite hard to distinguish who is the real bad guy is since everyone has a purpose to fight.
The characters are my favourite part of this manga, since most of them has their own secrets which even to the current chapter has not been fully revealed and for me, that is the driving point to continue reading this manga. The seven deadly sins themselves are a unique bunch, each of them from a different race but they are somewhat connected, in the past and also distant past. I say distant past because some of them have known each other since 3000 years into the past but some of the others only a decade back into the present time in the manga, yes it is quite confusing.
There's also quite a bit of romance going on compared to your standard shounen manga. I mean most of the characters are paired up.The highlight is definitely the love story between meliodas and elizabeth, honestly, their tragic love story is the main reason why this story of holy war is happening in the first place. But due to this specific reason, The current arc would probably be the final arc where most of the characters have already been told and unless a super ridiculous plot twist happens, this manga would not go beyond 400 chapters.
Overall, this is an enjoyable manga but I think some parts could've been made more enjoyable.
however, I would recommend watching the anime first before reading the manga because the fight scenes are so much more well illustrated in the anime. hopefully the ending would be good because I could already smell the end at chapter 265.

Maga tsuki, is another rom com harem, with cliched characters, however, it has been executed well. There's nothing special about the story, expect the same plots you'll get from any other harem rom coms. 1 boy, 4/5 girls and a mission to make them all happy so that he could lift a curse which has befall upon him.
The characters are likeable and the jokes are not bad, 1 thing i realized is the author gradually made yasuke more and
...
more of a perverted guy just to make the plot funny, even though it gets tiring. One of the few animes i think this is quite similar to is sora no otoshimono and inukami.
i liked the fact that there is progress, even though slow in the relationship between the main character.
Overall, this is an enjoyable light manga, i would very much suggest to anyone who is a fan of harem rom coms

Generic, pretty much sums up this manga. A story of a boy, who inherited some powers and a cat demon, add in a childhood friend, a few more demons, and there you have it.
The story doesn't have much of a plot anyways since there's just 1 bad guy in the entire series, ending was poor, MC doesn't really get that much stronger anyways, still an unreliable boy with naive dreams. I don't even think it's much of a conclusive ending. Fight scenes
...
were pretty lame too. All the other character is also pretty generic, there's not much background story that'll make you emotional or anything so i didn't really get attached to any of the characters.
wouldn't recommend this manga, except you're just a harem completionist, nothing really stands out, a pretty borish manga I would say.

Reinai Boukun is another harem manga with a concept of gods and demons, i dropped this manga at first after reading the first 5 chapters because i thought it looked as if it was going to be really generic and plain boring, but i retried reading it, told myself just to bear with it for a bit and well i say i wasn't at all disappointed.
The plot is nothing special, it is just another typical rom-com but what really stands out is the characters and
...
their development. There aren't many mangas which has yandere characters in them, and in this case akane is a full blown yandere at the beginning of the series, but after a few chapters, she seemed dull and lacked character making her feel like a 'doll' or some sort, but as the story progress, her yandere side becomes slowly toned down and i character slowly developed for the better. another character which interests me is the bad girl of this manga, shikimi. She starts as a full blown antagonist when she first appeared, and it actually continued for quite some time before she finally gets 'tamed' down. her mischievous and villanous side actually feels authentic and how her character progress is really fun to watch. There's also a lot of other funny and fun characters in this manga, and the conflict between hell and heaven going on, for the readers to enjoy.
I would recommend this to someone who is looking for a romcom harem just to fill your time, and not for the plot. The story is pretty basic and generic but if you can bear the first few chapters, then this might be something worth your while.

(mild spoiler alert)
The shortest way to sum up this anime, even though i've watched it over and over again for 4 times it still remains an EPIC MASTERPIECE
I was never introduced to any of the tenchi series, even though i knew about them, they felt very old so i really didn't bother. This was the first one I watched, and i have to say, it has really brought me through one heck of a joyride. First of, this anime really is quite different from the others, where it is a 45minutes episode airing once a month. So
...
even thoguh it is a 13 episoded anime, the actually length is like that of a 26 episodes anime. However, i personally feel that the experience feels much longer than that, because the leght per episode is doubled, they managed to make each episode feel somewhat like a short movie and a lot of things could be fit in, in that duration.
This is a story of kenshi, who is also assoicated to tenchi from the tenchi series and he was summoned to this fantasy world where seikishi's exist. Turns out he's a super powerful male seikishi who was purposely sent to save this world during time of crisis. There are 2 major arcs to this story, where the first part, he works as a servant in a school who's attended by royalties and seikishi pilots, he's to keep his real identity a secret due to several reasons. There isn't much focus in fighting, but instead the first arcs was used to introduce us to all the characters and this fantasy world, kenshi didn't even once get to get into a seikishi once he entered school, i really feel the directors of this anime were teasing us, as I remembered the first time i watced this anime, i was containing myself, waiting eagerly for kenshi to fight in his seikishi but it is totally worth it, since his debut and the end of the first arc is super epic. the second arc is more about adventuring the world of seikishi, and planning with the other countries to defeat the bad guy.
I wouldn't say the story is too complicated or anything, but there are a few plot twists but for those who's never watched other tenchi series, this anime only uses mild references from the other series, so it won't affect you watching experience that much. One more thing I realized, is that this is definitely a PG15 anime, There aren't any explicit gory/hentai secenes or any nipple slips but some scenes are actually kinda mentally erotic, i mean it may be hard to understand what i'm saying but to put it in a simpler way, you know some of the characters actually had sex.
The art and sound is AMAZING, i'm not exagerating, the background art is always like a piece of art, they didn't use much 3d which is good. the building structures is unique and it really feels like a completely foreign world. The music feels classical but it corresponds with the scenes well.
even though there are a lot of characters, almost all of them develop well, You will be able to find a liking to each one and my favourite is Aura the dark elf because I think she had the most screen time for romance development but everyone has their own preferences. Note that this is a hardcore harem anime, where everyone falls for the MC, and there are not many male characters who aren't douches.
Enjoyment, i really can't complement enough. This is definitely top 3 in my list, and I wish they would make a second, not just tease us with a hint of S2 at the end of the 2nd arc. For those who enjoy fantasy harems then don't miss this, a fun filled epic journey of kenchi, a mix of school life, romance, comedy, drama, harem, mecha, fantasy, adventure anime, ISEKAI SEIKISHI NO MONOGATARI :)
Ps, please let there be a season 2(insert crying smiley), i would pay 100 bucks per episode just get the same experience again LOL

this is a story about a boy who is constantly bullied, he learned martial arts from 5 masters after meeting miu, who is also his love interest. This is manga basically tells his story from being a zero to a hero in a 1 year period. this manga starts of well, but after a while, it becomes very dull and in my personal opinion, very childish, it had a lot of potential but my expectations crumbled halfway reading the manga, though i was hoping it to get better because
...
a lot of reviews were giving it a really good score but after 584 chapters, nothing changed. the author keep on recycling the same concept for the mc to win the important matches, in which he is very durable and can stand a punch, he just keeps on getting up again no matter how many times the enemies kick his ass, and in the end, he comes up with something to defeat them. this process repeats itself so many time, even till the ending of this series. the fan service is also way overboard, i understand the concpet of this manga whereby comedy is almost constantly there even in tense battles but it gets to ridiculous points, and ironically, it contradicts the plot and characters of this manga, where almost ALL the bad protagonists eventually turns into good guys in some random plot twist, even the baddest of the bad guys is actually good in a way, which is somewhat ridiculous, some even turned into good guys in the heat of the battle. another thing which i cringe is that the fact NONE actually dies in this manga, combine these 2 and we get a manga actually meant for children, but then the ecchi factor is too strong for them so i guess this is either for really childish adults or kids who haven't discovered hentai, lol.
The characters, almost all of the characters didn't get developed enough. same goes for all their relationships. kenichi like miu in the beginning, miu hints that she also has mutual feelings for him, it goes on like that until the end, i really hoped for something more. all the other characters also mostly have the same fate. one thing i really need to commend, is nijima, he makes this manga so much more likeable with the comedy that he brings but his screen time gets drastically reduced after 2/3rds of the manga.
Overall, i think this is a pretty enjoyable manga if you just want to chill reading but just don't expect such a deep plot. the plot is so simple and predictable even a child could figure it out. The only thing it was lacking for me, was probably a hint of DRAMA to make it appeal more to the adult audience.

Seto no Hanayome is a story about Nagasumi who was forced to marry Seto San after discovering that she was a mermaid. According to the mermaid law, if any human saw a mermaid in their 'mermaid form', the mermaid has to be killed or they have to get married. even by reading you know that it's comedy, it's hardcore comedy to the core ==.
Story:8/10
For its genre, i'd say Seto no hanayome
...
is one of the best. The story isn't complex and most of the episodes are just for comedic purpose so few were involved in the actual plot. all this doesn't matter because the comedy will leave you laughing and wanting for more.
even though it's hardcore comedy, we still get to see the growth of the relationships between the characters. Most of the female characters shows interest in Nagasumi but not to the extent where i would call this a romance anime. The only real romance only goes around between San and Nagasumi.
I liked how in Seto no Hanayome how episode 12/13 is a major part of the story. It makes you feel like this anime is seperated to two parts because after this they introduce a new character(Shiranui) plays an important role towards the story and ending.
episode 12/13 will end with San saving Nagasumi and in the end(episode 25/26), Nagasumi returns the favour by saving San from a perverted fish. these parts of the anime is just awesome, especially the ending. When you read the manga, you'll see that the anime ending doesn't really happen but the ending really feels like a movie, awesome music + action and there's still comedy even in the serious moments of battle.
Art: 8/10
The art is very sharp and cute, gives you the impression of a comedy anime
Sound: 9/10
the op was funny to begin with. Jokes were made funnier with the sound effects.
Characters:
Nagasumi isn't that special. He's the type of protagonist is forced to accept everything and life. Nagasumi doesn't make most of the comedy, he's more of a medium to channel the comedy. however, you'll get to see him rock in the end.
San's the cute heroine of the story, from appearance to her voice, everything about San is perfect. She resembles the type of good wife any guy would want.
most of the supporting characters are just damn funny specifically - Edomae, Hideyoshi and the fish trio. you have to watch for yourselves to experience the comedy.
Overall: 10/10.
Being a purely comedy anime, I think Seto no Hanayome is the best from all the animes i have watched. every episode was funny and the ending was satisfying. I just can't ask for more.
Anime Vs. manga:
The disappointing part is the manga. When I found out Seto no hanayome's manga is still ongoing, I almost jumped in excitement. First page, and I already lost interest, the art is just too simple. that's not the only bad part, all the new characters in the manga which are not shown in the anime are female and........ lesbians. They seem to show interest only towards San and will do anything to get close to her like a yandere character would. Because of all this, i stick with the anime and stopped reading the manga.
Have fun watching! :)

Mayo Chiki, a story about a guy who discovers the secret the butler of his school idol, Suzutsuki. the secret was, the butler, konoe is actually a girl. not a pretty-boy like everyone imagined. the reason i watched this anime was because the manga(up to chapter 15) was really good and funny. i planned on reading the manga for a second time but i found out its anime just finished airing so i watched it instead, only to be disappointed by its quality.
Story:
...
the story starts off quite well, to prevent Kinjirou from spreading the secret of konoe, Suzutsuki made a solution where she will help Kinjirou get rid of his gynephobia(fear of women) in return for him to shut his mouth about the secret. the characters later on become closer to each other because each of them have their own secret.
like i said, i watched this anime because the manga was good. it turns out the final chapter i read(15) was episode 7 of the anime and also the final episode where i can say it's good. after that, i'll give this anime just a pitiful 4/10 for its story. theres not much to say. all the episodes are like stand alone episodes that has nothing to do with the anime. even if you skipped the whole thing and got to episode 11&12, i doubt i'll affect your understanding towards the the story because all the other episodes has no plot or whatsoever.
for your info, the final episode is the 13th episode is the final episode, and again, this really is just ridiculous. this is the episode on the 'taned-megane' girl. what i'm saying is, episode 11&12 is the real ending. from my point of view, why can't they just make episode 13 into episode 11 and make the ending episode 12&13 instead? or they could even just make it into an ova instead?
saying all that, the comedy isn't that bad. the ending was alright. i just hate to see 12/13 episode animes having ridiculous episodes that could have been replaced with something related to the story line.
Art/Sound: nothing special. op was enough to get my attention for two episodes, so i guess it's mediocre.
Character:
if it weren't for the characters, i wouldv'e given mayo chiki a 5/10. the protagonist wasn't that great. it's your usual rom-com protagonist who's a natural playboy. the character i liked the most is Konoe. when you first watch her, your impression of Konoe will definitely be a tsundere as she was really mad when Kinjirou discovered her secret. it turns out she was just a lonely fellow with no friends. Kinjirou becomes her first friend and crush so she tries to protect their friendship at all costs but at the same time wanting her relationship with him to go beyond friends.
Konoe greatly resembles Koaru(Ladies Versus Butlers) and Chalotte(Infinite Stratos). these kind of character tend to have a double personality due to the fact being forced to cross dress. they show a poised, cool figure to the people other than the one who knows their secret.
Another interesting character is Kanade, a yandere character is a perfect contrast for a gynephobic person. She uses Kinjirou to return her relationship with Konoe to what it originally was.
Overall:
i'd only give it a 6/10. it's disappointing to see such a good story that could've been way better gone to waste. it's like good coffee with no sugar in it. -.-

Yakitate Japan is story about azuma kazuma who is a pure genius in making bread + having the 'solar hands' which is a natural helper in making bread making it more delicious. he keeps on making bread through the years after becoming interested in bread and wishes to create the ultimate bread and call it 'Japan'. i'll just get to the point here.
Story:
...
the story is actually quite simple. on the first episode you get to see kazuma as a kid and he goes to find a job with Panasia Bakery. As soon as the story begins, it's already like a competition. the first bread i guess was to catch the interest of the audience and to show what Yakitate Japan was about. it was just naan but with a weird shape.
as the story continues, he becomes comrade with Kyousuke, tsukino and several others. there's several competition throughout the anime. the best was probably during the international championship. here you get to see how serious bread making really is in this anime ==. the finals was also really just ridiculous but interesting to watch. who would ever knew the deliciousness of a bread could bring people back in time to change history.
this is truly the climax of the whole anime.
after that point, the anime becomes quite boring. there's no excitement af competition or whatsoever. Kai found a girlfriend and finally, kazuma created the ultimate 'Japan'.
Sound/Art: nothing special, really.
Characters:
great. every character is unique in its own way. my favourite character has to be Kuroyanagi Ryo because of how he keeps on over reacting when eating delicious bread. its the best part of any episode. you just want to see how the person will react after eating the bread. for example. eating a dragon shaped bread turns him into Bruce Lee.
the protagonist, Kazuma has a childish personality so he really doesn't feel like the main character except when he finds a way to make a delicious bread. sometimes, it feels like watching from a third person's perspective. but it doesn't matter because this is a comedy, not an action packed anime.
theres also this side-character named kinoshita who's really funny at times. he's the character who gets ignored and works on his own in the bakery everytime all the other characters go into a competition. overall, all the characters where great and distinct from one another.
Overall:
enjoyed it very much. recommended to anyone looking for something not too heavy but with a plot. i wasn't really satisfied with the ending but other parts of the story where just great.

i don't usually watch animes which dates back more than 5 years but i tried giving this 1 a try. i did not regret.
STORY:
it starts of real slow, it didnt even look like it was gonna be good, a boy with bad luck going to space, attacked by pirates... all the usual stuff. it was just fair, i didnt expect much of it anyway. but the story starts to go quite random but i would say, in a good way. some of it isnt
...
rational but who cares -,- its a comedy anyway.
after a while, the story grows and you get a typical harem anime. the romance isnt much but i still liked it because the way the anime is presented.
its simple but executed in a good way. this is one of those animes which makes you feel like you've watch a lot when actually, theres just 26 episodes.
probably because all the different settings and the adventure. to begin with, i don't really see a main plot. you would probably think the main antagonist is daruma but it isnt. the crew goes here and there making the story look longer than it really is.
one other thing i liked is the substories. the sub stories are just comedy scenes and some of them are quite funny. its shows the things happening at seina's ex-crew members and tennan after he was captured by pirates.
what really surprised me is the climax of the story which is around episode 22~24. i don't want to spoil it or anything but the mecha seina used to defeat the bad guys is very very similar to the mechas in isekai seikishi no monogatari. the climax was good, it'd give it an 8/10 just because of that.
ART:
the art is just everage for a 2002 anime, didnt expect anything much. nothing interesting here
SOUND:
the sound was also everage. the op wasn't that good but it did give me the impression of a comedy anime. my favourite soundtrack is the juraian emperror sound. it just makes the battle scenes feel epic :)
CHARACTER:
the caharcters were ok. some are just maniacs and some are just perverts. the funniest character is NB and tennan. they make the comedy scenes shine. as for the girls, theres 3+1. i did '+1' because the final girl appeard quite late compared to the other 3 which were already there during the beginning of the episode. and she looks too young evethough shes already 2000+ year old.
ENJOYMENT/OVERALL:
for a 2002 anime, this was good. for harem lovers- a must watch, for romance lovers- not so much
*please don't critic too much >.<
