This is my number 1 anime of all time. The art style is a little older so it can be a little hard to get used to but overall it is a masterpiece. You learn about this boy who was always sacrificing his life for the betterment of his family, but in the end, it cost him enjoyment in life. After discovering Boxing, he gets sucked into the world. He was never violent, but he doesn't see it as violence, but rather as a sport. It's a beautiful journey, as we watch this cowardly character grow into a respectable man. But it isn't strictly one

side. His opponents have lives too, and we get glimpses of that. It's not just an adventure about a boy beating up bullies, but rather two artists creating a work of art in the ring. Of course, there are some that aren't respectable which cause us to want the main character to win. But it's the fights that in which we want the main character to win but the opponent not to lose that are truly a spectacle. The comedy in this show is also top-notch. Takamura is one of my favourite characters of all time, he is everything a mentor character should be. He is funny yet unyielding. The passion every character has in this show is unbelievable and it really shines through the entire series.
