I found this piece by chance, not knowing who wrote the story or what's even written in the synopsis. It's marked as completed at 12 chapters long and at a glance, the art seemed nice so I decided to give it a go.
The story is not something that hasn't been told before, but the way it was told is brilliant and makes it abundantly more enticing. bounces smoothly between them makes up much of my enjoyment, which becomes apparent as the interactions started to whittle down nearing the end as things resolve. There was a big moment when I caught on to what the story is trying to go for and I was genuinely excited to see how it will be done. There are many clever details hidden within seemingly minor moments and I can't wait to go through this a second time only to pat myself on the back for getting those.
It addressed many issues that I had faced, and am still struggling with. Some hit too close to home, some others are relatable longshots that seems to target a bigger audience. Even if the melodrama fails to connect with you, you can at least take away some clever proverbs from it, which is actually the part that turned me off a bit, as it felt like it was sprinkled too generously. I don't have much to say about the ending. It was fulfilling though I'm not too sure whether I like it or not. I can't help but crave more, but at the same time, it would ruin the charm of the little twist.
