I heard this anime is suppose to be the anime of 2014, but it didn't happened. It can't be anime of 2014 anyways. But I don't get what's with the hate of this anime, I actually like it. I know it's confusing to understand, but I think it's a pretty cool anime. I have problems for this anime too though.

Story: 6/10
When it comes to anime based on light novels and mangas, usually it's suppose to stick to the story. Sure, some anime can add something new to it or change some parts, but this is very different. Mekaku City Actors, or the original title, ... Kagerou Project, decided to use the story and shatter it to different pieces as a puzzle, leaving it mysterious and hard to understand. As the audience, you have to solve it. I solve it usually by reading the manga and watching the music videos of Kagerou Project, not the anime. Basically the anime rushed and broke the story. I don't feel like explaining the reasons why it's broken because it will hurt others' feelings, and it's pretty obvious if you watch the whole thing.

I'm not hating on it at all, I just didn't like how Shaft ruined a huge use of the anime, and made a major flaw. I enjoyed the story, with the Mekakushi Dan and how they all meet up. But they keep adding random parts that delays the plot, and wastes time. Clearly, the funny parts were unnecessarily long. It will be better if they stick to the light novel exactly.

Art: 7/10
It's Shaft, and things get weird in their anime. I like the character designs, but that's just it. What I didn't really like about the art is that there's too many insane body portions, like the famous Shaft head tilt, strange back bends, etc. Also they didn't drew out much places or areas, so sometimes the characters ended up running around in the same area and position, when they're actually not. They have weird action scenes too, especially in the last episode. On the other hand, the animation is just pretty cool.

Sound: 9/10
The characters sound perfect the way they should be, the opening and ending were great, and I really like their songs. The only thing I would complaint is that it would be better if they use all of the songs from the series.

Character: 7/10
The anime really misused the characters. Shintaro is suppose to be the main character, but he's only like in half of the series. It was a huge disappointment, and possibly one of the worst mistakes they ever done. What's worse is that Momo, who is a supportive character, eventually takes over almost the whole screen time of the anime. It kind of sounds like she's the main character... -_- Also, they put a lot of effort in showing Ayano, which I really like, but they ended up making her death look insanely wrong and clueless. I'm still confused about why she died, even though I already know the reason. Mary is suppose to have a huge role too, but they show it at the end which drive me angry.

Anyways, I overall like the characters, they're all creative. My favorites are Kido and Kano since they make a good pair. All of the characters are great, yet except for Hibiya, Hiyori, and Momo. Hibiya is such a brat, without doubt, and he doesn't admit that he's in love with Hiyori. Hiyori is a little female dog that likes to bark out how cute she is, and shows off her love for Konoha. Too be honest, she isn't meant to be a brat, but I guess Shaft likes to twist some characters up. Momo is alright, but she can get really annoying and doesn't deserve that much screen time, compared to her brother. Kenjirou, or Ayano's dad, was an awful character too. Hurting his own daughter and her friends is just wrong. Well it was actually the snake...I will leave no more spoilers...

Shaft sometimes forget to add more scenes of Seto, and Kano wasn't much devious as he should be. Ene (Takane) and Haruka (Konoha) were awesome too, but they weren't enough to make this anime better.

Enjoyment: 7/10
I enjoyed the anime, but it kind of left me hanging and wondering what's so great about this anime. It can't really be the best anime after all.

Overall: 7/10
I'm really disappointed in Shaft and the creators. They did so good in the Monogatari series, yet so poor in this anime. I hope to have better expectations from them. Overall, the anime is alright, but it could of seriously done a better job. I'm actually ok if this anime doesn't have a season 2, it shouldn't.

Soredemo Sekai Wa Utsukushii, or The World is Still Beautiful, was absolutely amazing and one of the only anime I enjoyed this spring. It did an outstanding job without expectation. Before this anime came out, I knew it was from a shoujo manga, and I thought it was just going to be decent, in a good way. The first episode made it pretty decent, but as the series continues, each episode grew better. I was so fascinated by the romance, and the songs. The comedy was great too.

Story: 8/10

The story is really different than most shoujo anime, there's not only romance and drama, ... but also actions and plot twists that will keep you wanting more episodes. I'm amused that it's a historical romance anime, I barely seen any of those this year or for a long time, besides Maoyuu Maou Yuusha, that came out 2013.

I love the romance between Nike and Livius, even though that have a huge age and height difference, personalities, and rank in royalty. Whether perfect or not, they can still be beautiful. :) Also there weren't a lot of cliche, intense scenes, which I like about this series.

What I don't like about the story is that it's pretty short for the anime. But 12-13 episodes is good enough for a shoujo anime. Also, there wasn't a huge plot, besides the engagement. Overall, there's nothing really wrong for me about the story.

Art: 10/10
The art was incredible as expected. There were some minor issues, but that can be simply ignored and not mattered. Most of the good efforts appears in the love scenes and the Tender Rain song, which I enjoyed the most.

Sound: 10/10
Obviously, I would give it a 10, especially to the opening, ending, and the Tender Rain. Tender Rain was my favorite, it was one of the most beautiful anime songs I ever heard. I cried every time I listen to it.

Character: 8/10
I give it an 8 because there weren't really a lot of characters. Most of the characters are supportive, and they didn't put much effort to the series, except for Nike's grandma, Bard, Neil, and Kitora. Nike and Livius are my favorites in this series, as well in spring anime. I agree that Livius can be a brat sometimes, but he's really cool and mature for a kid, and pretty badass. I don't have any complaints about Nike, she's really courageous and brave for a female shoujo protagonist. She has flaws, but I couldn't care much.

Enjoyment: 10/10
I barely have any excuses or complaints about this anime, it's fine the way it is. I enjoyed almost every moment of it.

Overall: 9/10
Keep up with the good work, Kamegaki Hajime, and Studio Pierrot and VAP! Please make a second season by any chance! I would be happier than ever.
