Typical yet refreshing! I was going to quit on shoujo animes after watching Sukitte Ii na yo but Monthly Girls Nozaki-kun stands out with its simplicity and comedy.

Sakura Chio falls in love with Nozaki and confesses her feelings with totally wrong choice of words (*I am your fan and I want to be close to you :P*). Nozaki, unbeknownst to Chio, is author of famous shoujo manga, thinks she really is a fan ends up handing her autograph and hiring her as assistant. Chio joins Nozaki to help with his manga and finds out every character in his story is inspired by their friends at ...

Slice of life and romantic animes can be tricky, sometimes you can relate to them and sometimes you cant. Your lie in April is a story of pianist and his journey of returning back to music. Even if you don’t have a lot of knowledge about piano or violin, you can still get through this one. You just need a strong heart that can survive some pain and withstand all the tears!

Arima Kousei, our protagonist, is very convincing artist in despair and "friend A" for the girl he loves.
Even though he is whining for the better part of series, his thoughts are beautifully written. ...

Terror in resonance keeps you captivated with its interesting characters but I found story-line rather predictable. Series is small and crisp with no filler episodes or unnecessary flashbacks. And even though there is a larger plot going on about serial-bomb blasting, there is also subtle development in each character of story. For example, Nine and Twelve (our two protagonists) have specific goals in their mind but as Lisa (lonely girl at school) enters their plan, they re-calibrate their priorities and end up developing attachment to her.
Other characters, Five (trained similarly as Nine and Twelve), Japanese Detectives (trying hard to solve bombing case) are equally engaging.

you ...

While searching for almost-rom-com stories I came across Akatsuki no Yona. It is really lovely series which takes place in old era where princess Yona is on a journey with her companions.
There is nothing really much to the actual story but characters are really diverse and lovable, even the negative once.

Princess Yona grows up being pampered by her father (who hated violence and use of weapons) and on her 16th birthday her cousin Su-won (whom she loves) murders her father. She escapes with help of her bodyguard and childhood friend Hak and embarks on journey to find four dragons (now in human ...

Gintama (Anime) add
Gintama kind of grows on you once you watch initial 5-6 episodes. It's hilarious and has serious notes in it at the same time (and suddenly they will just poop all over serious parts so they are not so serious anymore ;D).

The series takes place is era where land of samurai is conquered by aliens and carrying swords around is banned. Our protagonist Gintoki Sakata is ex samurai who loves relaxed lifestyle. Despite of fighting fierce battle against alien invasion and being renowned as silver beast samurai, he is just not interested in fighting anymore. Now, he works as "Jack of all treads" with his ...

Hatarubi no Mori e kind of left me with sad feeling. Maybe I am not mature enough to let go of people who are there in your life for years and believe that they will be happy wherever they are even though you can never seem them again EVER !!

I liked the characters in the movie, specially Hotaru who accepts reality that she can not touch Gin and yet wants to move to small village after graduation in order to be with him. I really thought at some point spirits of forest will figure out way to make him human again. But ...
