Both of these shows are strikingly similar in their plots. Hitoribocchi is about a girl with social anxiety who has a goal of making friends with her whole class, while Komi-san is about a girl with a communication disorder who has a goal of making 100 friends. Each of these main characters is shy and has a hard time socializing, yet hopes to make friends with the people around them. The only difference between these two shows is that Hitori Bocchi is unpopular and Komi-san is popular in their respective classes. Hitoribocchi is also a bit more childish than Komi-san. If you like the idea of Komi-san, you'll probably enjoy Hitoribocchi, as they have the exact same plot.

Ballroom e Youkoso

Both series revolve around a character just starting a new sport. Tatara stumbles upon a ballroom dance studio one day after following a classmate, while Eichiro decides to join tennis to remain active and keep in shape. In each of these shows, the main character starts off as a newbie to the sport, learning the basics and fundamentals while struggling to keep afloat amongst their peers. They enter competitions and get better at their respective sports, in the typical "zero to hero" trope you often seen in sports shows. Both of these shows detail two struggling protagonists who enter a new world of sports amidst their school years as they climb the ranks and aim to go pro. While the animation or art style of both shows may tend to shoo viewers away from these series (for example, the long necks in Ballroom), these shows are definitely worth the watch and chances are if you enjoyed one, you'll like the other.
