Uresei Yatsura and Ranma 1/2 where both big-name romance manga written by the same woman that did InuYasha and a fourth manga that also got an anime that I get the name of. Her names Rumiko Takahashi and I know of no one else that's had 4 big hit stories. While I haven't watched Yatsura I have Ranma, and with Yatsura's remake doing as well as it did, Ranma is also getting a remake.

Ranma was written to catch on with the mutual arts craze Dragon Ball make, Takahashi throwing in romance since that's most/all that she writes. She wanted to push boundaries with it and pushed the love triangle thing as far as she could make work which is how she accidentally made the haram genre. There is no real wish fulfillment in it that you get with stuff today. It also gives misogamy the middle finger too. The old, perverted master thing with Roshi and Jarya. Ranma has that and he gets beat of for it next to every time. If the 4 hits, these remakes and this description doesn't make you watch Ranma, then I doubt I can talk you into it.

I had a good time with the first Gundam of the series, and in watching the other additions to the franchise, enjoyed the sequel series Zata Gundam, the newbie friendly Witch from Mercury and if not enjoy then appreciating more so Iron Blooded Orphan even more. Honestly, given the OG Gundam came out in 79 and finished 80 or 81, it might not hook well for newbies. Honestly IBO seems to be the best newbie friendly show to get into the franchise considering how massive the main timeline seems to be.

Writing this, I'm reminded of trying to get people into One Piece.

But if you're interested in actually getting critical with stuff, you might want to watch 2017 Dororo and the 60's one as well.

If your wonder about trops is genuine, then watching Urusei Yatsura would be a good place to go for romance stuff, OG Dragon Ball for shonen stuff.... I was going to say Runma 1/2 for haram stuff but having seen YouTuber Mothers Basement on Haram show, Ranam is parity far removed from what the genre became in the early 2000's and what it seems to be becoming today. I can't say much on the genre since I generally try to avoid it.

I've been dragged into older anime as a result of that kind of thinking to see where some of the trops and shows have started. It's how I got into Gundam, Recod Of Lodas War, and Dororo.

The Chimera ant arc is a bit slow honestly. Has one of the best Villans but has a slower pace to it than the rest of the show.

So about the criticisms. As nice as I try to be when discussing amine takes, I don't hold back on my opinions/criticisms. Plus, while not a blanket.... state for me, I do enjoy watching shows to criticism them, but mostly bad shows. It's why I went and watched Future Diary, Akami Ga Kill, and Elfen Lead. Watching the edgy trio to see if they were what the roamers suggested was a lot of fun. They were just as edgy and just as bad as I had heard. Watching those Happy Since movies was entertaining too. Those movies are a good watch for those who like critiquing stuff.

I would also ask why you put Black Clover and OG Bleach so high, but I couldn't find Hunter Hunter so I can't fault you for not knowing what grate Shonen is. Plus, you put Guilty Crown as an 8 and that said all I need to know about your anime takes frankly.

My ratings are done roughly as much objectively as they are subjectively, which is why I put JJK on the same level as Hunter Hunter. Enjoying the former but thinking the latter is objectively better.

By the way, red Saber or Saber of Red lol. While I'm on Fate stuff, is it worth a critical guy like me getting into Fate GO? Seems to mess with the base concept just enough that I might not vibe with it well. I mean I had problems with the servets that turned up in the Waver Case Files show so....

Zero I can understand, but how can you rate so, so many Fates above Dororo. BTW, Unlimited decently does not deserve such a high rating! For a while there, it couldn't figure out whether it was a slice of life or a free for all war, most of which was directed at the protags if memory serves. I know wit was being adapted from a visual novel but come on.
