I'm not an avid fan of SAO nor do I despise the show however this movie was actually decent!
The Art and Sound were as expected of A1 and although the story and characterization weren't amazing for a movie it was actually enjoyable due to the simplistic plot that is engaging enough and fun to watch with an ample amount of action to distract from the lack of any coherent story.
All in all it isn't the next makoto shinkai master class but it's got good enough sound art and action to distract from the fact.
8/10 probably wouldn't watch again but the music (the OP
...
at least) will be listened to again... and again..and.....

When i first started watching this anime I'll be honest, I found it almost repulsive.
the characters pissed me off and the story was unexpected and I guess threw me off guard and I found my self hating the anime as a defence mechanism.
And yet...everything else is perfect the visuals, the sound the atmosphere even the voice actors seem perfect for their roles.
I found myself conflicted like this for the next couple of episodes tugging between hating the show and somehow (in some sick twisted way) actually loving it.
The premise although somewhat unbelievable tends to focus heavily on sex and sexuality as it main
...
motif. Having the characters as high school students is more of a generic anime plot setting which is unsurprising given that people need to make money and high school manga/anime sell well. However, I digress. the episodes are filled with heavy themes but never really goes ecchi something that is rare in anime nowadays and is to some extent admirable, the character are "scum" as the title describes. They are stupid teenagers trying to figure out who they are and what they desire, which although dramatised is not far from the truth. The anime takes what I expected to be literal trash "kuzu" and turned it into one of the only anime that I have watched that has dealt with sex in such a mature way and yet still manages to shock me.
I doubt many will read this review as it rambles and is more of a marker for me to express my thoughts as the anime and manga continue. I am up to date with the manga and whether it is an actual appreciation of it or just morbid curiosity i will continue to do so.
As for ratings i don't think I can really give an hones rating as even through all I've said I still don;t know if i can bring myself to like it.... so an 8 will do for now.
If you've bothered reading this far in good job I guess someone has to right?
I hope that even though this review is more of a broad critic than a full blown review with detail on art sound etc. you'll still find some use and maybe even agree with some of what I have to say although if you completely disagree I couldn't and wouldn't blame you.

It amazes me how similar A channel is to this anime, even the characters are similar, this at first seemed like a bad rehash of the popular anime but the more I watched I realised although it is not as good as A Channel it still has its own good points.
Story: The story is fairly normal for a slice of life anime, nothing much happens and it focuses on one year like most anime of this genre, it is based at around 12 episodes with the possibility of an OVA later on, it mainly focuses on the life in and out of school of
...
5 school girls with two of the main characters being English (England), this creates a language based plot around the anime, however the idea of a girl from ENGLAND sounding like Google Translate kind of pisses me of and many times through the anime I found myself wanting to rip my ears of, otherwise the anime story wise is fine.
Art: The art in Kiniro Mosaic is almost identical to the type used in A Channel, it may also to some people resemble the art in love lab, this art is cutesy and fairly normal for a slice of life like this one, the art itself has no effect on the anime other than extenuating cute features.
Sound: Not really much I can say about this really, the OP isn't bad but isn't nearly as good as some of the more recent and memorable anime. The ED is pretty good though and takes a leaf out of many slice of life anime and has the ED as the main characters singing and dancing together which works pretty well but other than that there are no real scenes where sound becomes important of all that great. In terms of voice acting that a whole different thing, it’s fine until the girls (who are apparently native to England) start sounding like bloody Google Translate and then my ears bleed but other than that its fine, and actually pretty cute.
Character: the characters are similar to the characters of A channel but there are not many other defining features in the characters, there is not much time spent on back story so not much of the characters life gets revealed.
Enjoyment/Overall: This anime was pretty enjoyable, I usually score anime high so if you are into anime as much as me I would take like 2 points off to get it to a reasonable score, as you can tell my biggest problem with the anime was the continuous use of bad English throughout it but other than that it was just another slice of life which means in lay-man’s terms "It doesn't really matter what happened in the anime, the fact is it happened and it's not the end of the world if it didn't work out."

the new kanon OVA has been quite a wait for kaminomi lovers, this OVA is pretty good as it is able to give a fairly good overview in one episode, however the story itself is a bit wishywashy and lacks depth or backing to what is happening, the songs are great are to focal point of the OVA,
Overall I thought it was enjoyable but it could have been more effective with more episodes much like the manga hoever it was still quite good for a spin-off OVA

Kaminomi Season 2
Story:
The Second Season of Kaminomi is still on the same arc as it started on however is not as popular as the first, many say that the binding glue for Kaminomi was Kanon and as she is not featured as much it was not enjoyed as much, not to say that I didn’t enjoy it, it follows the manga fairly well and doesn’t diverge, the second season is still important as more is revealed as well as the long awaited new demon Haqua, we see a similar amount of girls as the first season and stays pretty similar to the settings of the
...
first, this does cause some repetitiveness however the first arc is most likely one of the longest so it is understandable, all in all this is an ok anime, maybe not as good as the first but good if you want to continue the series and read the manga.
Animation
The Animation in this season does not differ from the first is quite interesting because it shows certain types, firstly the eyes, there are two kinds of eyes in this anime the hawk eyes which are used mainly for boys and some girls who are either have tough or cold personalities. The other eyes are the moe eyes with are large and round and seen with most girls who have soft, cute, shy or moe personalities. The hair is also another key part, like most anime’s of its time it has little detail in the hair using mainly different shades rather than drawing detail into each strand the actual anime is quite good it use small amount of features and a large amount of digital shading which is clever although when the chibi’s are made it doesn’t work as well, otherwise this is very nice animation and the style although similar to other is still quite unique.
‘P.S I wrote what I wrote in the season 1 (on animation) review because there is not difference’
Sound:
The sound and music is still a favourite for me in this anime as the characters still sing the ED’s which I find really cool and clever, Kanon doesn’t have much of a role in this season however she is still referred to at different points and her music is still in some of the episodes, other than this there is not much change in sound.
Main Characters
The second season is relatively like the first we are introduced to a new main character Haqua and she is the studious type who fails as life an obvious anime personality so this is nothing new, we have some new heroine all with a theme, karate, teacher and real world girl although Keima seems to have struggled with them all, we are also (as I said before) shown the backstories of some of the main characters, including Elsie and some of Haqua, Elsie backstory cleverly talks about the failure and how she was looked down upon in her society, whereas Haqua’s backstory talks about how hard she worked only to turn out as a failure so it is cleverly pointed out that Elsie was bad at school but good at ‘soul-catching’ and how Haqua was good at school but bad at ‘soul-catching’, I will now focus more on Haqua’s personality, I’m saying this now because she technically is not a heroine even though she had a loose soul in her which was removed by Elsie’s friendship. Haqua is a very proud demon, she works hard and tries to do her best in everything, some may find her slightly repulsive because of her proud and disbelieving personality however as the season continues she starts to come down to earth so to speak and even congratulates Elise. Not much else is talked about her other than that, now some changes have occurred in Keima, firstly he has come to terms with his job, he may not be happy with it but he has seemingly adapted to the situation (by playing more games in class) at the end of the this season Keima finally falls in love with a character from his game nicknamed Yokkyun, he sees he as the perfect gaming girl and begins to wonder that is such bad looking game can have such a nice heroine weather the real world can have a perfect route in which to take, However going back to the main part of TWGOK we look at the humour which is put in this as always they find a way to interconnect the humour so that it blends in with the theme of the episode and as always Keima gives his riddles of dating sims which of are many.

The World God Only Knows Season 1
Story:
The World God Only knows follows the life of an avid ‘dating simmer; called Keima Katsuragi aka The God of Conquest (because there is no dating sim he cannot beat,) although he is known as The God of Conquest on the net he is a dweeb or nerd in school (otoumegane a derogatory term mixed with otaku and glasses) who sees the world he lives in as imperfect choosing his games over reality. One day he is given a challenge by an unknown person asking him to conquer a girl accepting this request he actually signed a contract with
...
a demon to help a demon capture loose souls, he meets a girl names Elsie who is the demon he has to help however refuses to capture loose souls when told he has to make them fall in love with him and kiss him (because he hates real girls), he is persuaded when he is told that he will lose his head if he doesn’t cooperate with the contract. So Keima begins his quest to capture the loose souls.
Animation
The Animation in this anime is quite interesting because it shows certain types, firstly the eyes, there are two kinds of eyes in this anime the hawk eyes which are used mainly for boys and some girls who are either have tough or cold personalities. The other eyes are the moe eyes with are large and round and seen with most girls who have soft, cute, shy or moe personalities. Sound:
The audio in this anime varies from the different themes for each character and heroine to the music for chibi characters, Firstly each character has his/her own theme to name each theme would take too long however each theme will show the characters personality or feeling. The chibi music varies from when some does a mistake or if a scene is changing other than that is the opening theme ‘god only knows’ and the ending theme ‘koi no shirushi’ both these themes go well with the anime, the op give a view of Keima’s personality as a God of Dating Sims and the ending gives a kind of moe/cute look on the heroine throughout the season also both the opening and ending show all the heroines that are in that particular season so you can get a glimpse of what is to come.
Main Characters:
The first season of TWGOK (The World god Only Knows) was quite interesting, not many anime’s since this time had looked at an otaku’s point of view, this interested many, with Keima he showed many characteristics and had a very strong view of the world around him as he found it full of flaws and imperfections, realizing this was never to change he lives in the world of his games. If we look at it this started at an early age where he would spend all his time with games (mainly Dating Sims). However even though he lives his life in his games he shows many important lessons to be learnt, he has ideals and shows a large amount of wisdom about this by giving many example to Elsie about dating sims in riddle which she can’t understand, before he met Elsie (Erushi or Elli etc.) he was very happy with his games, he sees the demon as a burden on his as he is steadily dragged into the real world by a demon. However as we see to the conclusion of this season we see that he has changed slightly, he seems more willing however this is mostly to get rid of Elsie. Now we look at Elsie call her what you like however she is a very important character, she sees Keima as a god/brother even though he really isn’t, she shows a large amount of loyalty to him witch is strange when you look a previous demon anime’s who are exactly the opposite, as Keima quotes (in translated English) when you look at her she doesn’t look like a demon but when she does anything it’s like Beelzebub incarnate, this may not be an exact translation but you get the picture. When we look to Elsie’s past we don’t see much if not any during the second season however it seems they were avoiding it in both the manga and anime so that until we got a good glimpse of her character before we went headlong into a backstory (which in my view is a clever ploy to extend the manga and anime). This first season with its heroines is really just mainly setting up for the arc that is to come; it is an overview of the main characters and their respective personalities as well as the current arc
