I love naruto with a huge passion, but his was the worst thing I have ever seen. I have never rated something like I have rated this. I give this a 1, because I did not sign up for a romance, I watch naruto for its shounen genre not see a movie revolving naruto and hinata.
I felt that some characters seemed out of character through out the film, especially Naruto. I just don't buy what Kishimoto is trying to sell to me. Tbh this movie seems like a cash grab, and I genuinely regret not only spending my money but time of my
...
life I will never get back. It was atrocious. Also the teasers heavily included Sasuke (which is one of the reasons I even went to see this film) but it was false advertising since he only had one line! they lied too. If they makers weren't so busy trying to justify a relationship because the manga failed to include enough Naruhina, then they really should have concentrated on Team 7, because f**k having a side character who has more screen time than sasuke or Sakura.
I won't watch anything else the Naruto franchise makes, I will finish the anime series but after that, any movies or specials are dead to me.

AKIRA REVIEW // (Spoiler Free)
A title which has always been shoved in my face as an anime classic...well after watching it I can fully say yeah, it's classic as hell.
Akira is a story set in a futuristic Tokyo, rebuilt from the ruins of World War III. We follow the main protagonist Kaneda, who ends up deeply involved in a secret government project. Little does he know this project involves telekinetic humans. This is the foundation of the story, which breeds more complex themes later on.
Story:9/10
Akira has a plot designed to intrigue and mystify. Pacing may seem a little slow at some points,
...
but I would say patience is the key to watching this film. The story is a gradual tension builder, but in many ways does is succeed at keeping the audience entertained, there are exciting bike chases, a lot of explosions, stunning visuals and an epic ending to all endings.
Art: 10/10
Wow, the art is stunning, this for me is the highlight of this film. True to its 80 style, its unique character designs and scenery allow it to remain timeless. It may not have the most realistic art like we see in modern anime but that's not Akira's aim. The abstract scenes and use of contrasting colours fit the futuristic setting perfectly, truly making it a 2hr piece of art. Never have I seen so much detail to an animation, from graffiti marks to drinks cans and peeling wallpaper, it's all visible in such intense detail. The transition from each frame is flawless and it's hard to believe this was created over 20 years ago!!
Sound: 10/10
In terms of voice acting, all actors gave an extremely believable performance displaying a wide range of emotion, in particular Tetsuo and Kaneda who had screams filled with pain and distress which forced you to feel for them. More astounding were the soundtracks used throughout, they complimented the most dramatic parts of the story and built a sense of tension which will make your heart beat faster. The tracks had a unique vibe to them as well which could only be described as 'Akira' with an almost jungle feel to it...you might think thats sound out of place in a city setting but it only enhances the chaotic nature of the film.
Character: 7/10
I feel that this may be the only aspect which could have really been expanded on. Kaneda is an extremely likeable guy, with a very cool and reckless attitude, in fact he's the kinda guy who you might wish to be friends with. He acts as a comedic relief at times and is really the only one who makes that full connection with the audience. However, all the rest of the characters somewhat come across as unrelatable, whether they lived or died wasn't that much of a heartache. Though it must be appreciated that this is a two hour film and along with the dense plot their isnt much time to fortify strong character backgrounds.
Enjoyment: 9/10
Akira is an experience in itself, yes there are a few moments which are slow and...well...down right strange (my advice is don't watch it if your feeling kinda sleepy) but for the highly dramatic moments there is no other film like it. This film looks as though the animation team have really pushed their artistic ability to the limit, this is not half-assed, this is everything they had to offer and more. No one else could pull of the unique feel this futuristic film gives off, you watch it and you feel like you've watched something special and beyond the 'casual-lets-entertain-for-money' anime film. This is a film which may not be appreciated by everyone, since it's not exactly a film designed to satisfy the audience, rather take the audience into the uncharted depths of anime. I consider this a classic and staple for anyones anime list.
Overall:
(45/50 = 90%)
= 10/10
A.k.a Something you have to watch before you die.

Great little burst of Naruto that was entertaining and well worth watching.
The film begins with Sasuke Uchiha taking of his robe and wetting his hair in a waterfall, it does sound slightly tantalising but it caught my attention, so I can hardly complain. After making a lot of fangirls swoon, the film sets up a simple plot of enemies attacking Konoha. Yes, very generic, however if you give the film time to develop, the story actually has content, not very complex content but content nonetheless! The Sky country is not the only threat, we have Orochimaru and that weird spirit thing; which is more than
...
I expected from the usual one-dimensional Naruto plot. Saying this, I was still disappointed during the end of film because it finished so abruptly, I was unsatisfied with how rushed it all felt.
The art was of a very good quality, a repeating pattern with the new Naruto movies. The background imagery was breathtaking at times and really excelled over the shoddy art of the anime series. It really shows that they are capable of producing good stuff, if only they could bothered to do so on a long term basis e.g the Shippuden series.
Normally, I find it quite difficult to care for newly introduced characters, but I must say that Amaru and her sensei intrigued me, though I didn't have that emotional attachment due to their lack in depth. The whole reason, I gave the characters a score of 9 was because I felt the pre-existing characters saved the movie and gave it it's charm. Little things like; Sai's exciting fight scene, Kakashi's presence, Hinata blushing violently and Naruto getting nervous around girls, all added up to a really enjoyable film.
Even Sasuke was there, which I thought was great since he pertains a lot of mystery, especially if you watch this in correlation to the anime series. This is like gold dust if you are a SasuNaru fangirl because the determination (on Naruto's part) and friendship between them is still very evident. Their bond is undeniably strong and their fighting style's compliment eachother perfectly. The movie is a reminder of something I'd once forgotten, that they were once best friends which is why I personally hold this film as special.

Nausicaa: Valley of the Wind, was completely unique and greatly ahead of it's time. The theme of man vs. nature and evironmental damage relates, more than ever, to our mordern day society. Lots of films have highlighted this topic but none in the innovative way Nausicaa has.
The background art was done very nicely and it had great attention to detail, though I must say the way the people were drawn lacked and appeared like blocks of colour. It doesn't compare to the standard of art we see nowadays, but being made in the 80's I feel the lack of quality should be overlooked and
...
instead celebrated as a great achievement of it's time.
The same goes for sound, I can't deny that in parts it felt dated with the use of synths but regardless, I strongly believe that this film had a breathtaking soundtrack. The song created for the opening credits (and also later in the film) was beautiful, I can not stress how beautiful. It really sets the mood for the story but more importantly it captures the feel of Studio Ghibli.
It may seem strange but in all honesty, this film reminds me of Avatar, with the theme of protecting nature and the sea of decay looking like Pandora. Avatar had beautiful CGI and I can't help but think that if Nausicaa had been made in 2013 it would look somewhat similar. If that were case, then there is no doubt in my mind Nausicaa would have been one of the best anime's ever created and perhaps even more popular than 'Spirited Away' and such others.

I feel as though I'm running out of ways to review the Naruto films since their almost all the same. For me, the main problem is the lack of originality, maybe this would get higher than a 6 if I hadn't watched the previous Naruto films but unfortunately I can't go back in time and change that.
They use the same formula every time, (a selfish/troubled [insert: priestess] becoming better person with Naruto's help) but they change the character and plot, in a kind of half-assed manner. Which is what makes me so frustrated, don't get me wrong I love the Naruto series but
...
I'm not blind enough to overlook the scrappy work here.
I guess the only redeeming quality was the art, so while I was zoning in and out of the boring-as-hell story line at least I had pretty pictures on my tv screen. It's not enough. In fact, I'm being generous by giving this a 6, and I know that if they keep producing Naruto films like this the score shall continue to decline regardless of how much the art improves.
There's not any more to say, I would only recommend this if you were willing to waste your time on a extended Naruto filler.

I watched the third Naruto film having watched the anime series. The first half hour was basically plotless, and when plot did develop it was unintresting. However, I would say this film was really saved by the art.
The graphics in this film were outstanding for a Naruto production. I sometimes paused the movie just to look at the outside imagery of the sunset or whatnot, it really suprised me. The sound was also unexpectedly good, it wasn't the music used but more the way they used it, the timings were spot on and I liked when they paused the sound once in a while to
...
create a dramatic effect.
Another positive thing to mention was the fight scenes. I really enjoyed them, I liked the wide range of jutsu's and the quick movements, it made everything fast paced and exciting. You don't need good plot to have good action scenes and this film is an example of that.
I guess, a part of me gave this a 7 because it had a lot Kakashi Hatake and I just love that man (I'm only human) so maybe I'm a little biased too. It's not a great movie by any means but it did manage to kill of some spare time.

So I watched the second Naruto film having watched the anime series.
The beginning was very slow and very like a Naruto filler. However as the film continued it did begin to attract my attention. The story has some meaning, suprisingly so, it's about utopia and if war/sacrifices are necessary to achieve it, which is a quite a philosophical theme. It actually made me think on my own thoughts about good and bad which is something I never expected in a Naruto film would make me do! I thought it was good this topic was addressed, especially considering a large majority of the audience are
...
quite young and the film sets a good example.
As for the art, I would say some scenes really excelled over the anime series, however overall it was very fair and nothing to get excited about. I would say the same for sound.
In terms of characterisation, the film doesn't really develope the series characters and the new character Temujin had a kind of Sasuke feel to him, saying this he was quite likeable and I found myself rooting him on but he just lacked originality.
Oddly, I found myself enjoying the film but I guess that's because I've been watching Naruto for a long time and I know how deal with fillerish moments. If you can do the same then I'm sure you'll enjoy it too.

So I recently watched this movie, having completed the first Naruto series, and I would definitely say it was nothing special.
The plot seemed to have a very 'Naruto filler' feel to it and didn't grab my attention. I thought that the princess' issue with the season, Spring was pretty weak and not a good enough reason for her to hide or feel disappointed. The princess just screamed helpless heroine and it was very unoriginal. In fact, I felt no connection towards the newly introduced characters whatsoever.
However I should mention, that the strength the main character, Naruto demonstrated was very endearing. He played a good role
...
in the story, though it is the same determination he has in the anime series, so for people who who are familiar with his character this will be no suprise.
The art was just a tiny bit better than in the Naruto series and the wide range of new jutsu's made the fight scenes more exciting. If your looking for an action packed anime movie regardless of plot then this film will be suitable for you.

I watched the Japanses version of this movie and I have to say I absolutely loved it, if you watched the original series when you were a child (like I had) then this will bring so much nostalgia it hurts. Don't worry its the good kind of hurt, though.
The plot for this story is surprisingly very good, it's directed for kids/young teenagers, but I think it will be engaging for an older audience as well. There are some serious themes which run through the movie, however, also having watched the English version I must say these themes are cut out of the English dialogue.
The real
...
reason I gave this film a score of 8 was the ending, the relationship between Ash and Pikachu was beautiful to watch and even made me cry. I won't say anymore, only that I would definitely recommend this if you were a fan of Pokemon at some point in your life.

After watching the entire of Naruto (fillers and all), I give the show a score of 8. It's not the best anime by any means' but it definitely has an endearing quality to it. If you're thinking about watching, go in knowing that there will be tedious fillers and that the show is not perfect, just enjoy the little details like character quirks and jokes which make Naruto great on a whole.
In the first episode I did not like the main character, Naruto, at all but once I got into the main arc, I had come to appreciate him and eventually through out the 220
...
episodes it was as if I was watching my brother grow up. The show brings a nostalgia, which is something I think is very difficult to achieve, I felt tremendously sad watching the last episode.
Story line up until episode 130 was extremely engaging but after that the fillers spoiled it. The art is standard, it gets the story across but considering the how long ago it was created very understandable. The music of OP and ED were outstanding, I still have the songs in my head till this day and I don't think I will forget them anytime soon. All the characters have at least one good attribute (shout out to kakashi hatake, he made the show completely worth watching). I recommend this greatly, just give it sometime to grow on you.
