This was a decent animation, and a worthwhile watch.
I liked the anime for the setting and being thrown into the mists of a post war like deppression state.
Personally i felt (as always) it was a story that could have bee happily elaborated to 24 episodes.
But this was still fairly well plotted, and it worked in a way that gave you just enough information to keep you happily binging through the episodes, but DEFinately much more story would have been welcomed.

I love this style of anime, the voice actors, the sutble ness of the sounds.
But I would love to find a review of the novel to see where the true story lies and how true it follows. Personally i felt that the story focus is more about the passage of time, short sweet and subtle. The glue that holds it together is the focus around the main charecter and his passion for words and his able patience to see his tasks in his company position through. There are real opportunities, for diving into the love, passion struggle and loss of the characters lives but umm, i ...

Humility i think is kind of like a knife that needs sharpening from time to time, and i think short movies like this do a good job of it.
I would say that the film highlights how , words can have a lasting impact. Even the subjectively subtle words, badly timed. The charecters are quite relatable, but by no means exiteing at all. I don't think they need to be in this case as the focus is more about the situation, yes their feelings, but the actions taken. Theres a few other points, but the main synopsis covers it well. So... no a unique anime, but sublet ...

I do rate this one high, all things concidered.
In the space of 24 episodes... the amount of charecters, and the story that are presented, i think it twas done as best as possible. The charecters showed their bitter sweet naivety, exp, individuality, and personality qwerks 'n' flaws revealing subtle insight to there past (or maybe it was just me). I would have loved 60 or so episodes, where more charecter development and history and story were poured into it. But i'm sure time is money. ... |
