Is this the worst anime ever? Even worse than all Bible Black or Violence Jack titles put together? You bet! Next to this POOPA, School Days would win a best writing award. I will keep my review short (but not so sweet).

Story: there is no plot. Imagine several pieces of cloth put together to form a little tacky scarf, and you might get an idea of just how poor the story is. The fact that each episode is only four minutes long only aggravates this problem.

Art: We would expect a short episode anime to at least have some good animation, but no. Character design, ... backgrounds and animation are all terrible, and gore scenes are censored on purpose (not by the show's producers, of course), so the only thing you have left is a Microsoft Office assistant looking-like girl chewing her brother's flesh through the magic of Nintendo 64 graphics.

Sound: Horrible and predictable voice acting. PUPA's seiyuu cannot possibly think saying Onii-chan and chewing SFX is not good acting. On a lighter note, the opening theme is acceptable and even tasteful if you enjoy the genre.

Character: Pathetic characters, no development whatsoever.
Enjoyment: none.

[This review contains SPOILERS]. It was a pleasure for me, as a college student enjoying a well-deserved Winter vacation, to wake up very early, taking a JR train from Takadanobaba to Seibu-Shinjuku station and getting in line to buy my ticket at Shinjuku Piccadily movie theater. I was very excited for this new Hunter x Hunter release, and I think the movie met my expectations. Audio and animation were amazing, especially if seen on a giant screen in Tokyo.

The best thing about Hunter x Hunter, both the series and this particular movie, is the characters, and how they interect with each others. I particularly ... enjoy Hisoka and Leorio, although they were somewhat secondary on this movie. Biske was also entertaining. Kurapika, however, was rather shallow and uninteresting. It is a shame, because Kurapika is an excellent character in the series (original and 2011 version).

As for the setting, going back to the Heaven's Arena was great. We all missed that amazing place. Now, the drawback with this movie, although it was an extremely enjoying HxH installment, is the predictability of it. [SPOILER ALERT] Everyone knew the villains introduced in The Last Mission would be gone by the end of the movie, so you do not actually feel like Killua and Gon are in danger. Besides, Gon seems to destroy everything with a simple JAN KEN GUU, regardless of how strong their opponents might be. In addition, the end scene where Killua saves Gon out of his evil On-Nouryoku through the power of friendship... it was too simple. I did not buy it.

Having that said, I still loved the movie. Great art, amazing characters, even some good jokes in between. If you can, go see it! :)

I just finished watching Kousetsu Hyaku Monogatari and I must say that I'm very, very disappointed.

KHM started as a very interesting show. The short stories from the first 7 or 8 episodes were good enough for me to watch with close attention, an 8 score anime. But then it started to get pretty dull. And the ending (episodes 12 and 13) was just terrible. Typical shounen mambo jambo, full of meaningless catchphrases, heroes who show up in the right time and plot holes: several plot holes. Also, I did not feel I was watching a horror series, even with all the decapitations, rape and ... japanese ghost folclore dialogues.

Despite the general disappointment, I do not consider KHM a waste of time. It was OK, a 6 score anime. The art has some pretty neet stuff, especially on the backgrounds, and the voicing was acceptable. I cannot remember the quality of the soundtrack, so I'll just assume it was powerless.

The main characters are also a problem in KHM. Not one of them did I find loveble, not because they're all archetypes, but because the producers did not have the hability to turn those archetypes into delicious characters. Also, I found very predictable and tiring the inclusion of a naggin' female character with large boobs.

So, in conclusion, if you want to watch a horror anime and you don't feel like watching Gantz or Shigurui, I guess you can watch this. But do not expect much more than a FINE (6) show.

The first time I watched MA I was 15 years old, and I found this very boring and confusing. Not "Confusing" in the sense that I could not understand, but meaning that I thought the producers had just pile up random things that they thought it were cool. But now, 3 years older, I finally understand all the awards and hype around this movie. It's really interesting, although I did not score it with a perfection 10, but a 9. The flow of the action is very engaging, and so are the characters, and even if you think chasing for your love a whole life ... is a little bit stupid when you only have a key that can lead you to the other person, this movie could turn it into something fascinating and thought-provoking (not philosophical though). So, if you, like me, had trouble watching this the first time, watch it again, and maybe you will enjoy it now.

OK, first of all, I could not help but to notice the number of people who actually finished this half hour OVA (500 and something). The 8 guys or chicks who scored this with a 10 must have never watch a single comedy show, anime or not, in their short pre-teen lifes.

Spelunker Sensei does not deserve such a note, neither a big review, so I'm gonna be short:


Spelunker Sensei is a failed OVA containing 30 minutes of short jokes in the traditional random anime style. The characters are poor, the budget surely did not help in the art and sound department, and the premise, which ... could have been entertaining if well developed, was poorly handled by the producers.

Some of the jokes were a little bit funny, but most were pretty dumb and not good enough to be called "good non-sense humour". It's hard to understand what did Spelunker Sensei try to say to its viewers, especially when the main character seems to be constantly dying with no aparent explanation. Sure, this is a reference to a game from 1983, in which dying was as easy as taking baby from a child. But there was no particular care in this OVA to let the viewer understand this. Would that be so hard? However, this show did not have a hard time turning 30 minutes of my life into a boring moment which I will never forget, right next to Pale Cocoon and Shiki.

So, I decided to score Spelunker Sensei with a 3. Don't like it? Me neither :D

OPINION TEXT ONLY - Contains spoiler

First of all, before I make any remarks on these special episodes, I scored Ore No Imouto Konnani Kawaii Wake Ga Nai with a 4. There were lots of flutuations in quality, a big lack of criativity and a very, very annoying Kirino by the barrel full.


Nonetheless, I gave these specials a chance. I quite didn't like (or dislike) the first episode (the real episode 12) until the last part, when Kirino actually travalled to the USA.

It's in episodes 2 and 3 that I really, really loved these specials. The abcense of Kirino and the main role ... for Kuroneko payed off. There were lots of enjoyable moments, good dialogues and characters, even though some people may not like the excessive approach on the otaku community. I personally loved the Akagi-Fujoshi thing, the constant yaoi references and the acting.

Then, episode 4 kinda disappointed. Standard Ore No Imouto episode, Kirino as the main star (that's bad) and another bad conclusion. I mean, how''s it possible that after a bad ending, the producers create a series of specials to counter that, and still make the same mistake, ending, yet again, in an awful way?


I would like to stood out the excelent and very loveble character Kuroneko, which was very well voiced. Her lines were particullary pleasant, and she kept the show rolling with a good pacing.

My real problem with the True Route, is the following: being this an attempt to erase the original ending, it failed miserably, because it ends with another bad ending. That's why, independent of the great amount of enjoyment and particular affection to Kuroneko, I score the True Route with a 7.

This first episode is basicly a three minute show about stupidity. Yeah, some tits were rubbed, some G-Point implied, japanese sayings were torned by ecchi perversion, but that's not what matters. What really matters here is the mental diarrheia this represents, and the effect a special episode can have on it's younger audiences. These 3 minutes were enough to show a complete lack of taste, humour and professionalism by the producers, who seem to enjoy objectifying women. I consider myself a pretty nasty guy, but I keep nasty were it should be: in the porn industry. If they really want to make this kind of ... thing, why don't they leap the final frontier and go hentai? It would be better than releasing this ecchi-shounen kind of specials...

I don't want to be pretensious or something like that, but one thing I can tell after watching the two first minutes of this show (which correspond to the first episode) is that this show is incredibily cute. So cute that it literally lives for its cuteness. If you ever thoght those Mahou Shoujo or Moe were hanging to cuteness, well you better think twice, 'cause this show has surpassed it by a long shot. I really do not understand why should a greeting card series of drawing get animated. I know it's for kids, I'm getting too old for this kind of things, and ... I must recognize that in a certain way this soothing cartoons are much better than violence for the youngsters, but come on, Aria has no violence, and it's incredibily good and refreshing. This thing is just a compilation of stories already written, better and with deeper messages behind. Oh and BTW, the voicing doesn't match the art.

Well, there isn't much to say about this.

Yuri Seijin Naoko-san is an evidence that the legacy of FLCL lives, whether it's in the high speed gags, whether in the what-the-fuckism that goes along with the episode. The voices are very funny, and I was a little pissed to know that there wouldn't be any more episodes of this (the stand-alones always depress me).

I truly recommend this to you, although the feeling of emptiness in the end may cut your genitals [spoiler!].

I'll write a full review after the show is over.

Until now I only have to say that this show is really good. And why? Well:
- Strong cast of characters.
- Intelligent dialogues, comedy and situations.
- It captures the "ridicule" without being "ridicule" (wow, what have I been smoking?!).
- Contains a hidden layer of deep emotions that sometime stand out in few moments of the show.
- The "Kurara-Tekiira" slogan in the middle of the episode.
- Good opening song.

IF THIS STAYS AS GOOD AS IT HAS BEEN, I'LL GIVE IT A 9. KURAGEHIME *.*
