This is my first time writing review. I really make my first account in MAL because I see this manga only have 1 review and that person doesn't seem to be in favor of this manga. So, I want to tell people how hilarious "Kuzu to Megane to Bungaku Shojo (Nise)" manga is.
Story 8/10
The story revolves around 3 characters : the scum guy who would makes outrageous comments and being a creep, the literary girl who is actually dumb but cute, and the actual bookworm glasses guy who would recommend books to the other two.
The start of the manga might be a little cliché, but
...
the characters made it all hilarious. Nothing really happens in the story, well because it is 4-koma manga, nothing much to be expected.
The comedy is not your average Boke-and-Tsukkomi type. Every chapter's title is hilarious after you read the context.
The description of this manga is wrong on this page, so I edit it. It has barely any romance (except the ending), so I certainly won't call it a love story. The glasses guy doesn't fall in love with the literary girl, only the scum person.
I wish the story gets more continuation, but alas it ends with 2 volume.
Art 8/10
This is the better one from what Tanigawa Nico draws. The character expression gets the emotion transmitted pretty well. Orikawa is really cute when she gets absorbed in literature, or pretending to be.
Character 10/10
Ahh, I really love these characters. There's only 4 character in this manga : Orikawa Iori (The literary girl), Kogato Yofumi (The scum guy), Moriya (The glasses guy), and the library chairman (She doesn't have name).
Orikawa is a cute girl, but has always been regarded as a dumb girl in middle school. So she wanted to change her appearance to be that of a literary girl. And the method she does it only makes it more apparent that she's dumb.
Kogato, his motives to be library staff only to see Orikawa is in plain sight. The way he expresses his love to Orikawa is amusingly creepy, like making sure Orikawa gets to the train station safely everyday. He seems rarely filter his mouth, he'd say outrageous things that made people think he'll become an offender one day.
Moriya, an Otaku in literature. He's really into it that recommending a book for a friend becomes a deciding matter for him as a human being. I feel bad I never get to know his full name. He makes all the intelligent comments, that makes Orikawa efforts to be literary girl a laughing matter. While Kogato and Orikawa never actually interested in literature, thanks to Moriya, they became able to appreciate reading books, and they all get along really well since then.
Library chairman, she is the senpai in the library. Despite her harsh words, she's actually pretty lonely.
Enjoyment 10/10
It's a short read, but I certainly enjoy this. I really recommend it to anyone that likes comedy, and introverted characters. I'm certainly going to re-read this! Half-way through my 2nd reading now.
Overall 9/10
As expected from Tanigawa Nico manga, it makes me appreciate my everyday life. It's really a good read, would recommend, thank you very much!
