I watched 63 episodes in three days. That could be my entire review because otherwise this will be a novel. I have written so few reviews but I could not help myself. I haven't cried from an anime in a very long time, and I was not expecting to cry during this one.
WARNING *Slight spoilers ahead*
Story 10/10
The story starts in a society where 80% of the population have quirks (super powers). Our protagonist, Deku, however, has none; but he vows to be a hero. We do not get the run of the mill story where weak boy becomes strong because plot - looking at you
...
naruto even though I adore you. It Is well crafted and well delivered while keeping high emotion and high anticipation - with some kickass moves.
Art 10/10
The movements, the character art. SO MUCH CHARACTER ART. You can't always tell if a character will be a main character, a side character, or just a passing conversation. It isn't like some anime where the main gets the cool hair, detailed design - EVERYONE looks different. It takes a lot of time to make each character with different augmentations, body types, and powers to make each scene look fluid and captivating.
Sound 10/10
I don't know much about sound, but if I can think of absolutely nothing to complain about, then I have to give it a 10. AND THAT INTRO MUSIC AMIRITE?
Character 10/10
This has some of the best character development in any anime I've seen. And not just for the main character - ALL characters. Each person is given a time to show how they've grown, and just how far every single person is growing. Deku especially, since he is a genuine cry baby, and learns to actually use his quirk and train himself to not just rush in with no plan. Relationships constantly are growing, and no one seems 2D or bland.
Enjoyment 10/10
I. watched. 63. episodes. in. 3. days. NEXT
Overall 10/10
I think it speaks for itself. Sure, the first few episodes can be slow since so many people are being introduced, but it's not just a barrage of introductions. Each person being crafted and shown has a purpose that will carry through the anime and I honestly cannot praise this enough.
Special thanks to my friend Katie for recommending this and dragging me into the abyss. xoxo

If you want to dive into this anime, be prepared to flip a table. I am a person who quite enjoys romance and such, but this anime made me so frustrated I had to take breaks from watching it time to time.
Not all of it was bad frustration, using a pretty well thought out character backstory and relationship complications made it enjoyable. However, towards the end of the anime I was getting ready to rip my hair out at the constant soap-opera feel to the entire show. Not only this, but the ending was extremely dissatisfying to me (which led me to pick it
...
up with the manga).
I guess another disappointment of the show was the fact that the ultimate ending of the show was highly predictable. I will have to say that many scenes and problems took me completely off guard, but the ending was going to be the same either way.
Overall the art was good, but the animation in places was a bit off to me. Especially when a character was to turn sideways, it jut kind of creeped me out. That might be an art preference on my own, but it still plays a factor in the animation effect to me.
I would recommend watching it as a good frustration romance manga, but as far as fantastic? Not quite.

To start off, I had seen quite a few episodes of one piece as a child on toonami, prior to even discovering what anime was in fact. From the very beginning I had adored this show, even watching the horrendous dubs on american television.
To speak of the dubs, do not judge one piece by these. PLEASE. For God's sake don't hate one piece or anything about it because of what 4kids decided to do to it. Simply put they took something of masterpiece and full of depth into a shallow, horrid voice acting, and choppy version of the original. Funimation has done quite a
...
decent job of recreating the dubbed version, but nothing can compete with the original, as the original is what it was meant to be like.
Also, do not dismiss this lovely anime because of the earlier animation style of the first few episodes (as well as the more cartoony based style.) To dismiss something because of the artwork is no good reason to not watch it. THe characters are so unique and so original, and each character has meaning. Oda (the author) goes into complete detail with each of his characters. Even creating the characters in all of the filler episodes.
What I can say about the story is that I have never laughed harder, sobbed more intensely, or fangirled more viciously than in this anime. The pure plot of this anime is so in depth and so intricate that I have re watched it several times (yes, all 554 episodes) So many people I come in contact with ask me "How in the WORLD do you watch something so long? I just can't start now it's too overwhelming." Well, let me tell you. I got so into this I was watching about 20-30 episodes daily. Just from the fact that I couldn't get enough of this anime. I really couldn't.
It's starts off as a regular kind of pirate scenario where everyone wants to become the best. What really caught me is the fact that it takes every type of pirate "legend" or mystery and puts it into a reality. Sea monsters, crazy powers, evil marines, everything. What also caught me is starting out with one boy and one dream, and making that dream seem more and more real by the battles and crew-mates he finds along his adventure.
I guess I like the flavor of starting off small and crawling your way to strength and ambition, but this anime just packs that flavor into one huge ice cream sundae. With a friggen cherry on the very top. I really have only praise for this masterpiece. Unforgettable characters, amazing scenery, endless adventure.
Simply put. I never want it to end.
