First of all, I must admit, that at first I was kinda not interested to read it due to the shota scene and the arts (it's not really that bad tho' after a while) . I'm even tempted to stop reading it. However, I can't seems to do so and somehow my mind said, bear with it... you'll not regretting it!
It was right!
I'm not regretting to ever read this wonderful manga. It has such a great plot where I rarely (more like never once) encounter, furthermore, on Yaoi manga. It tells you from their childhood, their teens/adolescent march to their adulthood (well this
...
plot is quite common). But! There's one thing that changes the common plot to the uncommon, is when the story moves ahead to their old-age time. It was very beautiful story , I dare say. It makes you think deep about life and stuff.
Two normal childhood friends, one harbor feeling for the other while the other one still in state of confusion. From that on, you see how the love and the relationship progressing on.
Well, i couldn't write much cause this manga plot is kinda deep and there's no way I can write without spoiling the content x3
But one thing that I can say for sure... I cried while reading this manga. *nods* yup.

Well, to be honest, my sis bought the DVD...
lol, I have this urge to buy it but kinda afraid if the story isn't worth buying.
So, I postponed my desire to have it.
The next time I go out with my sis, she willingly buy it since she loves piano... and obviously, a piano and an anime... she would never let that dvd stay in the store when she walk out from it LOL.
The story is really nice.
The plot is somewhat unique.
Obviously, when you want to become a professional pianist, having your friend, whom you think has a great talent for piano... you should feel envious and
...
the rivalry will sparks and there.. you'll start being enemies.
However, you will not find that type of plot in this anime.
It's amazing how Shu, in such a young age has this passion for piano. When he heard Kai playing the Piano in the forest, he was amazed... truly and no hints of jealousy emitted from him.
Which is kinda nice.. since, well.. most anime plot will have the 'friends turns to rival'
Not that I don't like it... well i do feels the same towards my my friends when I was still studying. You wanna be better, you have this friend kinda rivalry.
okay putting that aside..
so.. as the story progress... it's getting more unsettled.... I mean your feelings. Cause.. Kai is getting better and Shu was practicing so intensely. I mean... will this effects their relationship?
Moreover, the sensei that once known as a prodigy rejected Shu's mother offers to help her daughter improve but chose Kai instead...
Obviously, even BFF can be jealous! admit it!~ lol
That's why I salute Shu ! He is such a good friend and he has his dignity even at the young age.
Such a wonderful friendship.
i love a beautiful friendship and an honest one!~
I don't wanna give much spoiler.
If you get the chance to watch it, you WATCH IT!

The Lonely Egoist/Egotist
I don't quite sure which is it?
I do think it's egoist since the japanese 淋しいがりやのエゴイストand the romaji is sabishigariya egoisto. I don't know why The book spell Egotist tho'
Anyway...
to be honest, I downloaded (yes, I download, unfortunately for me) this novel is obviously because the illustartor is Minase sensei. I do love sensei's arts and obviously the cover arts.... the cover is so alluring xD
lol
...
anyway
so my positive POV for this novel...
The storyline is really good. I love how the author can came up with such idea where you read and you can easily picture the situation inside your mind. As i read, I can imagine all the situation given. I think this novel translated better than Caged Slave.
Well.. to be honest, at first I thought the story line will be wild and endless 'seme rape uke' you know.. where the uke is being captivated by the seme and can't run away from him. Well, the cover tell me so.. sorry for my corrupt imagination.. Anyway, it didn't turn out to be what I thought it will be. However, it came out better xD I enjoyed reading it. Especially how the relationship developed between Minami and Asakura, it's quite forward but I find it still good. The topic plot Masaki-sensei chose 'love hotel owner and interior designer' is kinda new to me too...well for a yaoi manga/novel. That's probably why I enjoyed this novel too.
for my negative review...
Same as the Caged Slave. The climax plot is just too short. No real... excitement...herm...what they call.. conflicts? Well, as a reader I do like conflicts kinda plot.. a bit of angst and emotional that makes me go ..Ooo.. I'm gonna kill that seme.. or Aww.. what a stupid uke... or That woman is a bitch, what she is doing in a yaoi novel!! ...goes something like that. Unfortunately, I didn't experience such emotion which I do badly want so. Anyway, aside from the short misunderstanding... how Minami finally realize and admitted to himself that he likes Asakura is just unreal somehow and there's no telling which part that he likes about him (It's a big deal for me cause I want to know why does Minami like Asakura). On the other hand, Asakura feelings for Minami is kinda simple. Technically, it means like if he found someone else that he can depend on he will switch to that person.. kinda feelings. But still, it just my way of thinking...since I don't trust people much... *nodded*
Well, after all that I'd written... nothing much to review on the negative side since I do think this is a great book to read. Probably better than Caged Slave. However, I like the conflicts in Caged slave more cause it brings me to tears... er..I mean..Almost...brings me to tears~

As I read this novel, I find the plot is quite common in every Yaoi manga and very predictable. I mean how the story developing and where the relationship will go. However, somehow I find myself eager to know what will happens next. It's quite silly, yes, the story turns to be what I exactly expected it to be but I find myself satisfied with it(?) So yes, in any other words, even this novel has that common plot but it's worth to read.
That's basically my positive POV but on the negative side, I actually didn't really fond on how JUNE translated this novel.
...
Well, not much of odd grammar (I'm no better myself), but the word they chose to used is quite direct.(or is it just me?)
and the one thing that really irritates me is, they used Breast instead of Chest! What the HECK?? I mean, it is common to used the word chest over breast right? If you use breast, the sentences seems odd... Moreover, in yaoi novel. *shook head*
How the climax went is not very satisfying either. Well, at the beginning of climax I really felt touched and almost... I do mean almost burst into tears (I swear) . Makes me feel sentimental a bit. But then, the climax was just too short, Damn it! Well, in my case I like the climax to be dragged more to 4-5 pages or even a chapter.. but in just a few explanation the misunderstanding just gone. The uke, who supposedly to be a pessimistic person isn't do much of questioning to the seme. I know that few explanation from the seme can blown away all of the uneasiness and questioning that the uke feels. However, i still think it needs more heart throbbing, anticipating and cursing the uke for being a fool... (ok, scratch the last one, I'm just kidding, obviously! ) kinda plot so we..er..mostly me can be happy. lol
anyway.. after all have been said and written, I still think this novel is great to read (I wish I could purchase it) if you wanna have a taste of the story.
