the fall season of 2024 is almost closing its door, and this is my first time writing a review and dandadan is the first anime i would like to express my honest opinion on this. Sorry if you dont understand some of the words used because english isnt my first language.

I will not write my review too long so im going to make it simple as possible.


Story: 8.5/10

I'm glad the story in this anime or manga makes me keep watching it, besides the animation, the story is one of the reasons i keep watching it until now. really liked the scene when Momo standing up ... for Okarun from being bullied. No nonsense, just straight up brave. But at the same time the plot is way too predictable, i would say its quite cliche. Like, the monsters appears, beat them into death, then the same situation repeats again, just because of the "damn round orangish thing". Besides that, theres few explicit scenes which makes me feel uneasy and skeptical either continue watching it or not. Hey at least it doesnt appear in every episodes, so i'm glad i dont stop watching it. The enjoyment & comedy are still there. Most scene never failed to make me giggles and laughs. If you watch this anime for the story, then you are in the right place. Yeah so solid A from me!


Animation/Art: 9/10

Who doesnt know Science Saru, a studio founded by a creative director, Masaaki Yuasa? Eventhough he has retired few years ago, one of his staff still keeping the studio's distinctive signature, Fuuga Yamashiro. This is his first debut directing a show, and it works really well. A lot of sakuga shots, the use of color on every yokai/monster makes this anime special, they are not lazy animating every small details such as walking, they look fluid and alive. I know this studio is really passionate about every source material they are adapting. But theres some problems this anime is facing which is off model faces, in-betweening problem & the use of green filter is way too bright. Im pointing at the Episode 9. BUT OVERALL, A+ for me. Thanks Science Saru team & all of the freelance animators that makes this anime living my dream forever.


Characters: 8.5/10

this is not going to be long, cuz idk what to write. So Momo is pretty different than SOME of the girl characters out there. Her weird expression, humor and energy makes me fall in love with her. Okarun is an introvert but his character development is really good after that. I dont know why people hate Aira though, she's full of energy, cheerful and her character development is well-written too. Overall, these characters are definitely, pretty, obviously, good. Solid A for me. Thats all


Sound Design: 7.5/10


Not really amazing, and also not bad. But some sound effects used are impactful same as Fire Force. It could be better if they hired Jin Aketagawa as a sound director of this show.


Background Song: 10/10

No words. Just perfection. Kensuke Ushio really nailed the assignment given.
