Kurau and Witchblade are ostensibly action shows in which the action takes a back seat to the theme of family. Witchblade portrays a believeable mother and daughter relationship, while the two leads in Kurau share a bond that is neither romantic nor familial but something inbetween. And that's to say nothing of the supporting cast of both series, all of whom have their own family issues to resolve.

Asatte Dance and Sundome are racy erotic comedies about a manipulative young woman and the young man captivated by her allure. But while Asatte Dance's stressed college student Suekichi does his utmost to hold back his lust for the playful Aya, Sundome's social misfit Hideo readily submits to the somewhat sadistic Kurumi. In the end, though, both are equally powerless to resist their object of desire, and it's fascinating to watch the development of their unconvential relationships.
