Finally watched Japan Sinks after wanting to watch it since the start of this season. Watched it in one go (there are only 10 EPs). And I must say, that I can completely understand the rating here on MAL. The whole pacing throughout the anime is totally weird and to fast.
Character seem to be happy just a short time after someone died and it doesnt seem like its the "Im hurt, I want to cry but I will pretend Im happy" kind of happy. The characters move on to quickly after a lot of deaths. The only "good" pacings in death scenes

Im not totally sure how I should rate this anime. On one hand its not that bad and interesting to watch, on the other hand its a lot like Mirai Nikki and could be considered even a copy. This anime is about people getting special abilities named "sigils" (sounds a lot like the Mirai Nikkis/Future Diaries, right?) after they enter the survival game "Darwins Game". You dont necessarily have to kill other players outside of events (if an events rules are that you have to kill a certain amount of people to achieve something than of course you have to kill ...

Short review for Nekopara: First of all, I didnt play the VN so I cant take that into account.
If you dont take this show very serious it can be fun and could even be a 7 or something close to it (6.5->7) In the end I gave it a 6. Some characters can sometimes be annoying but I guess thats just my opinion. The voice acting is kind of weird in some places too and lacks enthusiasm. Other than that, like I said, if you dont take this show very serious and watch it with a "Hey it has catgirls doing funny stuff that ...

Short review:
This show makes you feel lazy/listless (in a good way) and comfortable like Tanaka-kun while having well-fitting, matching comedy. Also its really relaxing. Its perfect for people who like this kind of "unintentional" comedy that is beeing generated by normal interaction (from the standpoint of the character themselves of course) between characters. I cant describe it any better, you have to watch it yourself the get what I mean, if you didnt understand the explaination. This would wrap it up for this review. I told you its a short one, but I can definitely recommand at least giving this anime a try even if you ... |
