Kingdom

Both have clever stratagems, heroic duels, and young men with a desire to make a name in an ancient China ripped apart by warfare and intrigue. The Ravages of Time is Kingdom but on a vaster scale, and more detailed artwork.

Dorohedoro
add

The artist of Dorohedoro was an assistant to Tsutomu Nihei, author of BLAME! That aside, you have a dystopian future with antiheroes, aberrant mutations and so on, but there are differences too. For one, Dorohedoro has magic, and the story has a lot of black humor and even a little charming romance thrown in. Another point is the art style of Dorohedoro: I can only describe it as 'unique', and it might take some getting used to .. it sort of evokes BLAME! but in its own way, you'll see if you check it out. Now, the art is extremely well drawn & very detailed, it looks amazing in print but the online versions usually are not up to par so beware.

Karakuri no Kimi
add

Ninja Scroll is Karakuri no Kimi taken to the next level; lots more action and weird ninja abilities, and definitely more blood and gore. While things in Puppet Princess tend to look like porcupines - sharp extrusions everywhere, you know what I mean - they don't in Ninja Scroll, they do share the garish colors though, which is not a bad thing if you're wondering.

Karakuri no Kimi
add

A wandering samurai helps a princess, killing lots of shinobi along the way. The same unique 90's art style is prevalent, and the action is similar, although Ninja Scroll has more polish. Note this is a series based on a movie by the same name-both are good/relevant.

Uragiri wa Boku no Namae wo Shitteiru
add

Gothic and very similar down to the orphaned boy who can sense other people's emotions gimmick, but Night head Genesis has more of a story than Uragiri wa Boku no Namae wo Shitterieu, and there are no 'demons' so to speak but people with supernatural powers, the atmosphere is arguably quite close.
