I just couldn't let Inobato sit with a score of 7.**
That would be an injustice! So here I am writing a short review trying to convince any readers who stumbled on this page to stop contemplating and just watch it.
I actually found the story refreshing. With the way they all got powers out of nowhere and just went on with their lives. Can't think of many shows that would do that and it kept a great pace all throughout.
Art is very pleasant on the eyes and kinda looks familiar. I just couldn't figure it out where I saw this style before until I looked it
...
up. Lo and behold: TTGL and Kill La Kill! *facepalm. I'm ashamed I couldn't point it out sooner.
Sound was great. Loved the OP sequence, and how Andou would switch over to chuuni mode (reminded me of Lelouch and not nearly as painful/embarassing to watch like in Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai) but what really stood out and gave me the chills was Hatoko's rant in episode 7. Damn son that was some fine voice acting.
The character development hit the ground running. That is to say, that you would go into episode 1 with their identities already fleshed out and we, as the viewers, would have to play catch up. Personally I like that style of portraying the characters every now and then. And once you're familiar with each character you'll be sure to love them. Especially Chifuyu. Crap I might be turning into a lolicon because of her. I really really want to write more about the characters but that would make this too long. But safe to say the main character is more badass than you would initially think and much of the fun comes from watching their interactions.
I don't think I need to say more about how much I enjoyed this show. I mean, here I am writing this so I could share the fun I had with it.
I've been on a bit of a marathon spree this year and have probably watched most of the titles in the top 200 or so and it got a bit boring to be honest. What I usually do when this happens is pick something from the middle of the crop to shake things up a bit and Inobato delivered. I practically finished it in one sitting and enjoyed from start to finish. Problem is it left me wanting more and unfortunately the LNs aren't translated yet. And if I had one major complaint to voice out, its that they didn't give enough screen time for Kudou!
Cheers!

Tonari no Seki-kun reminded me that you don't need the glitz and glamor of today's standards of high budget animation to fully enjoy a show.
Knowing the fact that they did this with limited resources, I'm quite impressed with the result: 21 short episodes, great OP and ED sequence, very likable characters and superb performance by Kana Hanezawa as Yokoi.
Each episode was truly amusing and a pleasure to watch.

Did I just find myself a rare exquisite gem? Or was I just living under a rock when this series aired back in 2012? I honestly don't know why or how I didn't hear of this back then.
I've been watching a bit more titles this 2014 compared to the past couple of years and I've only been inclined to write a review again just THIS once. So I'll keep it sweet and short!
If I had just one word to describe the story, it would be "refreshing". I know that there are tons of titles out there that involve deities but this one just stands
...
on its own. Its lighthearted and even breaks the 4th wall but you can't help but really get into it. And I just love the characters! Most of them, if not all of them anyway. How often do you get a protagonist that would qualify as a high school villain/queen in any other show? But she grows on you and watching her develop was such a treat. And then here's our deuteragonist whose character is really just outstanding. I mean her job is to restore balance to the world and all but I love how she went from dutifully lazy > menacing > annoying > moe.
And the dynamic between the two was so superbly done, I don't think I've watched any other show that comes close. You could kinda sense it in the OP and ED sequence.
The art was really good as I didn't notice a drop in quality even when watching on a big screen.
But more importantly, this is probably the biggest contributing factor why this show made me laugh so much as its syncs perfectly with the parodies. They used a bunch of styles on the characters which I really enjoyed. And let me just get this out there: I love BOOBIES! I really do. And this show has given me my fix. But don't get me wrong, I'm usually put off and could smell cheap fanservice a mile away, but the way they delivered it here was excellent. Not once did I think that it was forced. I just sat here, giggled, and muttered boobies when it happened.
Soundtrack is also excellent and upbeat, just the way I like it. Normally when you marathon a series, you sometimes skip the OP and ED sequence but I don't think I did it even once here. Let that be a testimony in itself on how good it is.
All in all, I really really enjoyed watching. Normally I would finish a 12-13 episode series in one sitting but Binbougami forced me to do it in two. Reason being, the thought of finishing it so fast made me sad and I wanted to prolong my time with it.
I hope what I wrote would convince those who aren't sold yet on just the synopsis :)
And if you'll excuse me, Imma go pick up the manga so I can get MOAR!

I've been aware for quite awhile now that ARIA has been one of the top anime titles of this site.
But I always found myself putting off watching it. Admittedly, I was a bit unenthusiastic after reading the synopses...
And then I finally got around to watch it and simply fell in love with it.
I gave it full marks for everything, but if I had to point out what I liked the most..
Then it would be the characters, of course. Excluding moe-points, they really are wonderful and lovable folks and by the end of the show, you really feel connected to them.
The sounds and music were perfect.
...
The opening, the ending, the insert songs.. Amazing. I could listen to the tracks all day.
The story was specially captivating. It has been pointed out that each episode is almost self containing, but it still builds upon the previous episodes to really involve the viewers emotionally. At least that's how it felt like for me. But more importantly, each episode features something that is sure to grab your interest.(Heck, these people could do the most mundane things and I bet I'd still be hooked). Whether the episode was focusing on the day-to-day things on Aqua, or on the extraordinary aspects like Cait Sith, or the wonderful people, it never ceased to amaze me.
The art was good enough for me to want to be there! All I could wish for now is for them to re-release this in HD and watch it on a 42" flat panel.
So needless to say, I enjoyed it very much and its right up there among my favorites.
For those people, who are still putting off this series because of fear that it would be boring, drop the prejudice and pick this up. You definitely wont regret it.

I'll keep it short..
I felt detached with everything going on in this series.
And found myself commenting "God, this is retarded" more than once.
I don't really mind that they take proven and tested formulas for successful animes.
We can all name a few titles that did that and turned out to be pretty good, if not amazing.
But somehow, Dragon Crisis fails in the execution.
I refuse to believe that the ideas have gotten stale for over usage.
I like what I like, and I'm pretty sure that if dragon crisis was done differently, even with the same premises, I would have fairly enjoyed it.
Honestly, the only redeeming points for
...
this series would be Ai and Eriko.
Maybe I shouldn't have set my expectations so high going into this series?

Can't believe my first review here is for hentai.. Kindly give me a second to get over that.
...
Alright then! I'm very pleased with how the 2nd installment of Anejiru came out.
There really wasn't more meat added to the story this time around and a big chunk of episode 1 even featured scenes from the 1st installment for their respective flashbacks. In any case, we are shown what happens after the curse was supposedly lifted. I gave it a solid 7 for story since it doesn't try too hard to pretend it has much of one.
The art for this series was faptastic! Even the censoring didn't
...
stop me from giving it a 10. A part of the perfect score is also due to the HUGE improvement from the 1st series. Hats off to the facial design, the tits (ample and perky), and even the torso.
The seiyuus did a good job here, maybe except the protagonist's. Sounded too girly for my taste. And I liked the theme song from the 1st installment, upbeat and lighthearted, so I'm glad they used that piece here as well. Good thing though that they didn't play it during the climax of the sex scenes like before.
As for the characters? What can I say.. I love em. Erotic + Moe = Win. I realize that finding the right mix for moe and sexy is difficult, primarily because in the world of non-hentai anime you can only be either and not both. So thumbs way up for pulling that off. And did I mention, the design was friggin awesome?
I had to think about it for a while how I'd score it for enjoyment. At first I didn't quite like the fact that they were breaking the 4th wall. There's this little voice at the back of my head insulting me. I'm not sure if I'm the only one who felt that. But there really is something quite irritating when you realize that a fictional character is acknowledging that you're fapping to them. Quickly got over that though.. That's how good the animation was!
Overall I rated it a 9. Its one of those titles that stand out for me for more reasons than I have stated above.
