I love how both of these series approach their respective OP main characters not just as a self-insert that has a sole purpose of fulfilling the "i'll beat up the big bad thru the power of friendship and then get a huge harem" trope. Thru the story we learn that Leo, not unlike Rudeus, is not just another super OP guy who faces no challenges in life, but is a normal human with trauma and emotions on the inside. I find the trauma that both of them experienced similar in some way, making both of them closed off and afraid of building relationships and trust.
