The Girl Downstairs is a romance-based story. It is, in fact, not a very innovative story line, but this is really a masterpiece on its own.
Character: All the characters introduce in in the story serve a real purpose for the development of the main character. We really see one bit of personality that is being used to its full potential. The chemistry between all of them is just great and interesting. It is really easy to rely on the characters struggles and pain as we go through the story; it is something that really made me enjoy the story even more.
Story: All of the manga
...
is great; I was never bored when I read a chapter; I always hungered for more, but the only flow of the story is the ending. It is really deceiving from that point on because I am ok with the sad ending, but the way it was brought up was not clever, and the relationship between Ira and Joon isn't the most captivating couple. It just feels like he dates her as a replacement, never really being able to accept that his last relationship with Duna is over. Also, the wish Duna made on the last date does not really suit her personality because of what we saw from her in the past chapter. I think that instead of wishing Joon a normal life, maybe wish for his absolute happiness and reunite them instead of going with the Ira and Joon couple route.
Art: The design of the manga is fine.
Overall, I first read A Girl Downstairs because I saw the first 4 episodes of the anime adaptation (I hope they change the ending), and I finished reading the manga in 2 days, so I would definitely recommend reading the manga if you enjoy romance-based stories. I would like to rate the manga a 10/10, but the ending is too disappointing.
