Dead Leaves is a crazy ride with bright flashing colors and eccentric characters. Digital Juice feels like a weird trip with outlandish visuals and offbeat stories. These two pieces of media are both bizarre and a bit uncanny. I find them intriguing and unique. I think the idea and the overall mood are more important than the storyline when it comes to these anime. The visuals play an essential role in this. Little worlds are created through stylized and one of a kind animation. Especially the episode Table and Fisherman in Digital Juice has a very similar energy to Dead Leaves. In this episode, a man and a woman escape from the police. In the end, they have to fight the god of the universe. Dead Leaves is about a couple that tries to escape prison and flee from the police.

Megalo Box

Both shows focus on the thrilling and rough world of gambling. Competition and mental strength are big themes in these series. The main characters have comparable backstories. Kaiji and Joe both start from the bottom and work their way up in their respective industries. They are incredibly perseverant and take on all challenges, no matter how grave the consequences may be. Additionally, Megalo Box involves match-fixing schemes that are similar to the cheating in Kaiji's gambling scene. This illustrates how injustice is a motif in these sensational, but violent anime.

Appare-Ranman!

Both shows are about racing and have an eccentric cast of characters. The exhilarating suspense and tension that come with a fierce sports competition are conveyed spectacularly well. The character designs capture the personality and uniqueness of the characters perfectly. The animation in these shows is sublime and most of all bursting with color. Redline is more mature and intense. Love plays a big role in it too. Whereas, Appare-Ranman is more bubbly but also has more emotional moments. If you are seeking an adrenaline rush with a great story and immersive world-building, then these shows will certainly satisfy your needs.

Sakamoto desu ga?

Kitano is basically Sakamoto's scary looking and awkward younger brother. Both of these comedy anime made me cackle. The good-hearted protagonists give an interesting perspective to the story and their odd personalities lead to silly situations and hilarious misunderstandings. Angel Densetsu definitely looks less polished and does not have as many jokes up its sleeve as Sakamoto, but both shows are worth a watch.

Flip Flappers is similar in tone to The Eccentric Family. Both anime are an amalgamation of various genres. These two series will not tire you, they will provide you with never-ending excitement as Yasaburou and Papika are both characters who are adventurous and dislike boredom. The fights of friends, family, and lovers are central themes within these spectacularly well-animated stories. I also think their soundtracks are quite similar with respect to their quirkiness and emotionality.
