This is my second favorite webtoon after Kubera, and so I was astounded to learn that it was rated so low. It deserves more, it's genuinely one of my favorites. And so I'm writing this spoiler free review.
Story: The premise is simple on the surface, but it's executed with such flair and absurd humor that it never feels that way. It starts of with several bold decisions, and has multiple twists that genuinely caught me off guard. Unlike many others, the absurd style of humor never interferes with the strong emotional core, with many sad and hard-hitting moments. There's a clear and consistent flow to
...
the plot, while not being bland and unpredictable. The central theme is around the education system, how it affects various characters and the societal expectations on them, the difficulties they face, and other related things. But there are several other smaller themes that wrap and intertwine with this central theme, too many to name. On top of all that, unlike many, many others, it has a great and satisfying ending. 10/10
Art: I won't claim this has the best art you'll ever see, but it's still very very good, with strong presentation, a certain flair to how it's drawn, and a lot of crazy fun ideas that make it stand out. 9/10
Characters: Absolutely brilliant, the standout feature. Not a single character is bland or one dimensional. Everyone has layers and develops and interacts with the world in realistic ways. One thing I love is that it's not afraid to make the characters make tough decisions or reveal things about them that will hurt their "image". In fact being against that idea itself is one theme of it. But that's not all. From that you might expect some sort of introspective drama, but it's not really the case. It's jam packed with absurd humor, the characters are over the top and super fun despite their "realness", and in general the execution of the characters is just incredible. Maybe my favorite cast ever tbh. 11/10
Enjoyment: If everything I've said hasn't told you how I feel, then idk what you've been reading so far. 10/10.

This is honestly incredible. I only dropped it because there was a certain development in the 11th volume that I hated. Spoilers below.
The story telling in this manga is it's main strength, with very little plot armor for the characters, excellent depiction of strategy, shocking and hype plot developments and engaging fights. The character writing is good, but there are certain issues. Spoiler for volume 11, but the relationship between him and chamille turns more sexual than I was comfortable with. In volume 11, he basically kisses her on the cheeks and forehead and stuff, but it doesn't seem familial and chamille literally lusts for
...
him. With this somewhat disturbing element, I peeked ahead towards the end to see if they end up together, and in the final chapters he kisses her on the lips and says that he loves her. Since it's never stated to be familial and the very idea of a relationship between the two was disgusting due to the age gap and the fact that she's a minor, it just made me recoil away from the series. Even leaving aside how disgusting the relationship is, they have no chemistry, chamille doesn't really have any basis for her love other than him saving her that one time and otherwise just doing his job. Compare this to yatori, who he has history with and has far more ship tease with. He doesn't even get along with chamille that well for most of the series. Due to the previously high quality I gave it a 7, but if like me this part disgusts you, then I suggest you drop it after the 10th volume.

this review is for season 1, season 2 and gaiden combined.
story:
season 1 gets a 10 here. season 2 was slightly worse with a more messy plot and a rushed and unclear ending so it gets a 6. gaiden was well done and bridged the gap between seasons well, but there wasn't much else so it gets a 8. overall a score of 8.
art:
art is 9 all around. decent character designs, fluid animation and has one of, if not the best fight scenes in anime.
sound:
again a 10 all around. nothing really to say here.
...
character:
season 1 gets a 10. season 2 gets a 9,with a solid new female lead,but with some annoying new characters. gaiden gets a 8, with a weak antagonist. overall a 9.
enjoyment:
season one gets a 10, season 2 gets a 8 due to being a letdown, and gaiden gets a 9.5.
overall:
it's around 9 overall, with season one being a perfect 10,gaiden being around a 9, and season two seven. hence, i strongly recommend watching the entire series, as it is a soild work, easily top 5 for me.
