This show isnt for everyone, it requires an open mind and heart. Let me tel you all why. Basically this show is one of that anime series that you cant watch with your family unless they are really open minded because the jokes are dirty and thats what the anime want to show.

The story starts with a boy (Okuma) who finally is aproved to a great school, but the problem is the school is one of the most rigid when it comes about morals. The context of the plot is that in Japan is prohibited to use dirty ... words like p*nis, v*gina, and etc. Students even dont know how sex is made and how people have babies.

So a terrorist called Setsugen no Ao appears with a pantsu on her head and trow pictures of nudity in the street. I'm not gonna tell the story here because if you want to know you need to watch it.

The art is great, its very similar to the novel, the characters are so funny, speciially Setsugen no Ao. Theres a girl with a hair like a p*nis head, a scientist student that have no emotions and keep following the protagonist asking him how babies are made, Anna whos the president of the moral concil on the school the protagonist just arrived, and later on reveals herself a "crazy" person.

The sound is 10, outstanding because the songs are funny just like the anime and the seyus are great. Setsugen no Ao is voiced by the ones who was the voice for Shiodome Akira from Naga no Asukara and Okuma was voiced by the same man who made the protagonist from Witch craft works, both great animes.

This show is a masterpiece for those who wants to just see dirty jokes and funny characters. This isnt for that moments when you want some deep plot about time travel like Steins;gate, or a complex world context like Shinsekai yori. This anime series is SIMPLE but that what makes it so great.
For the reviews above, you should watch at least more than 200 anime series to tell something. Watching Naruto, One Piece, Bleach only doesnt give you the rights to deeply analyze animes like this.

If you are searching for a great with dirty conversations anime series THIS IS THE MASTERPIECE show you are looking for.


A WORLD WITHOUT DIRTY JOKES IS BORING!!!

SETSUGEN NO AO, AISHITEIRU!!!!

I'll try to not spoil anything, so here we go.

Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso or You lie in April is tells us the story of Arima Kousei a young pianist who lost the ability of hear the notes of piano, but only when he, yes himself, plays it. He decided to stop playing piano and meets, in spring season, a girl called Kaori Miyazono, who plays violin and push him to start playing piano as her companion. Things move on, and obviosly theres a love story envolving he, she, and the others characters Tsubaki Sawabe whos Kousei childhood friend and Watari Ryota, another schoolmate.

You lie ... in April is for those who are searching for an romance but not with ecchi, or sexual stuff on it as majority of anime series today. It's for those who seeks a show with an amazing soundtrack, if you like classical music as Ravel, Chopin, Beethoven, Liszt, you will love this series, and is for those who wants to think about life. It's relaxing, it's about the simple things we should see in life, we should search on life. It's a lesson, it's surely a life lesson.
Move on. Life is about move on. If you can't go foward, move on. If you can't resist, move on. Since you meet someone you'll never be alone, move on. Your life is not only yours, move on.
It's an anime series that not an otaku or anime/manga fan should watch. It's for everyone.

The art is beautiful, the story I'll not tell here, obviously I'll not spoil it here.
I'll tell you guys why character and enjoyment I not gave a 10.
Some of the characters are just there to not make sure that the whole story will not be only between the four schoolmates. I'm not complaining, I like all the characters in it, they just could make it less envolving just Kousei. But again I'm not complaining, the story is about Kousei and for Kousei, so it's great as it is and since this adaptation is loyal to the manga I thing they couldn't not make big changes on it.
The enjoyment is not 10 because sometimes when the shows goes deeper you will start to asking yourself why am I watching it? Why am I in this feeltrip? Who bought me the feel trip ticket to make this feel travel? lol
Seriously guys this show is a masterpiece, but I'm pretty sure that sometimes you'll ask yourself one of these questions.
Overall I rate this anime as outstanding because it gives you a bitchslap on your face. I read the manga before watching it, the loyalty to the original work and the art improved on it makes this show an epic adaptation. It's beautiful, relaxing, lovely, nostalgic, makes your chest aches (I should see a doctor) makes you start thinking if you are living as you should live, sharing love and making good stuff to people that are around you.
I'm not pro at revewing, sorry if this wasn't clear enough to make you see or not see this show. But in resume, Shigatsu wa kimi no uso it's for those who are seraching for a romance anime, with an amazing soundtrack, you'll not find any so great in most of the anime series, and also for those who just want to go in a feeltrip.
That's it.

Shinsekai Yori is one of those unique works .
It is divided into 3 parts , childhood, adolescence and adulthood of the characters.

Shinsekai Yori tells us about the war , is like a history lesson. Teaches us about the innocence of when we are children , sexuality and its discovery in adolescence and the responsibility we have in adulthood. That human beings can be provided with a pure love beyond the barriers of time and life. But it may also be able to conduct such acts of perversity ...

I think that one of the focus that makes Shinsekai Yori a masterpiece is the question: what makes ... us human? Why human when have so much power in his own hands only search for chaos? Why can we just love each other with that pure love just when we were only little childs? Why the world can be so cruel and beautiful at the same time? Why?

If you think about love, about life, about the world itself, go and watch it.

The only problem with this anime, is that there aren't any like this.

Great soundtrack, deep story, characters are funny and charismatic, art is good (not as good as in the cutscenes in games if you already played one of the persona of the franchise).
If you already played the game so maybe you will not think of it as an amazing adaptation. But if you didn't played the games and are searching for a great seinen action anime this is what you're searching for!

If you think, like I was thinking before watch it, that this anime is for children to watch, don't do it, watch it and see it by yourself.
Because of the visual I thought that was just a shounen like the others, but actually this have a pretty good history, the characters are funny and the dialogues are deep sometimes.
If you're searching for an anime with good fights, a cool history and with funny momments then this is what you're searching for.
