86 is about a constant theme in human history:
When a majority group takes power and says a subset of other humans are subhuman.
This is not a feel good anime, nor does it have amazing art, or a giant budget, but it is one that chilling mirror much of human history - one where there is two sides: a victor and group wiped out of existence.
The character development isn't great - heck the characters don't live long enough to have a character development; which is frighteningly similar to how minority groups are treated in most of the major wars in the past and current.

Story: Good, not too generic background. Interesting
Art: Average art, not too good. Although some characters looked better then normal ;-) Sound: Pretty good choice of sound in areas, esp. areas that are pictured to be stressful or the like, quite interesting Character: Pretty good character development, stories, etc. Enjoyment was not so much. Overall it was average. Main Point for me was that it was kind of embarassing that Ryner couldn't kill someone and they died by accident. Ill admit, it is lacking a little in character development here and there, and in addition it may have a lacking plot. However, this anime really does end quite well, and it is one of the only animes I was wondering if I can rate over a 10, such as maybe a 12/10.
I cannot completely describe what aspect of this redeems itself to deserve the score, however when you watch it, I think that the combination of elements will speak for itself. Therefore I would recommend this highly. Some points I can complement (in specific): The theme song and music was very good. Clear crisp tones and crescendos ... |
