This is the first time I am writing an anime review, so please bear with me, but here it goes.
Honestly, this show has captured my heart from the first episode. The art style that gives a "children's storybook" vibe is one of the things that got me hooked. Second, the character building. Since the events were happening in present time, a lot of flashbacks was shown, but I never found them annoying since they gave depth to the characters.
Starting from Hilling, to the knights of Bosse, Bojji's mother and even the characters that you would deem off as "evil" at first, were all shown as
...
humans who faced various challenges in life and still somehow managed to keep their kindness within them.
Then there's the OSTs, Opening Songs and Ending Songs. They manage to make the show feel even more nostalgic, and they somehow feel like an encouragement message to Bojji (and even the viewers). Never fails to heighten my emotions on the best moments.
Lastly, the storyline. I loved how they slowly unveiled Bojji's journey in a pace wherein things are not rushed, but also not too slow to bore me.
If someone out there is reading this, it's a sign to watch (or even re-watch) the show. I hope we get a second season by 2023.
