The manga blew me away when i first read it last 2023 and the animated version delivered with the story, characterization, and plot. For those who are looking for a slice of life that would make you empathize and cry with the characters, this one's for you. The star of the show is Mistumi-chan, a girl from the small town of Ishikawa who subsequently went to Tsubame West in Tokyo for high school. in more transforming ways that one couldn't quite grasp. Mistumi coupled with hope and her dreams pursued high school to achieve her goal: to be a politician. Seems like an interesting plot isn't?
The simplistic storytelling about high schoolers in their unique, youthful experience coupled with realistic characters would surely make one empathize with the viewer's current predicaments. Though simple and not much plot-driven, the characters slowly pave the way to affect the viewer's emotions and somehow make someone reflect on their predicaments as well. The translated material from the manga to anime was top-notch, the writers and producers took their time to make us feel and empathize with Mitsumi and Shima. It defies common stereotypes among cliques associated with high school identities that drive youngsters apart with preconceived notions.
The friendship between these seemingly opposite kinds of people learn and grow from each other throughout the series' run. Elation is not enough word to describe how pleased I was to see the manga that I loved and hold dearly in my heart has finally be on-screen as an animated series.
