MC is just another cuck that can't make up his mind, blushes and loses it every time a girl enters his peripheral. The MCs are blushing for so long that I start to wonder if they're constantly drunk. Maybe this show was just an ad about alcoholism? It also checks every cliche/trope on the list, from dumb misunderstandings to characters saying the same thing simultaneously for no reason at all. There is no substance to this show, it's very hollow despite how good it looks from the outside. It's just "the loser at school hooked up with the most popular girl" story all over again. ... The dead horse is so beat up at this point that it's barely recognizable. There is barely any development at all over the entire season, the comedy is bland and I really don't see anything worth staying for. But the art is great, so I give 1 point for that.

The best manga of its type. That is, if you're looking for something gory, violent, and about a MC avenging victims of horrible crimes. I've read other ones like Shounen A, Pumpkin Night, Gyakusatsu Happy End, Wolf Guy, Juujika no Rokunin, and Red Fog. I can say that Brutal is better than all of them imo in terms of quality and story. Sadly the author of Brutal is sick and the manga is still on hiatus, but I picked up this series like a couple of years ago and from what I remember it was really good. I will definitely have to reread it. The ... only series I can make an exception for is Koroshiya 1 because that series is on a whole other level of messed up... it's about as shocking as real-life gore and will screw up your mind.

Anyways, the mc of Brutal is very charismatic, you'll sometimes see someone in the comments simping for him and it's valid. Oh, and the art style of Brutal is awesome too, it's consistent and really enhances the horror/gory side of it. As of writing this there are still only 19.5 chapters. Sadly. But it was worth the ride so thank you to the author for making this. There aren't that many other manga like this.

Putting aside the animation (because it sucks), this is a great show to watch if you don't pay too much attention to the details. In some ways it's predictable (every girl the mc meets falls in love with him), in other ways you don't know what's to come in the next episode because of how bizarre and ridiculous the plot is. In one episode the mc suplexes a bear, in another episode he 1v1s a bunny... and that makes this show awesome. Most of the dialogue is boring so it's best to skip. This is one of those "it's so bad it's good" shows.

Subpar animation, fights are repetitive where characters just mindlessly try to kill each other, screaming, "I'll kill you!!!" over and over again. Starts off different from your typical shounen but then it moulds into one. All the main character talks about is his wife and finding this elixir. The pretentiousness of this show makes me cringe, like the author is trying too hard to make every character sound cool by throwing around special words. Not to mention the autistic pink haired child should shut her trap if she has nothing else to say other than "strong, strong weak, no, no" like a broken record or ... a caveman learning how to speak. Just like the manga, this show is disappointing. The monsters look cool, but that's about it. I wouldn't even watch this to pass time.
