jun shoutarou no fantasy world is easily my favourite manga of all time
the motifs of physical and emotional growth and philosophies of sadness and isolation are beautifully conveyed through a manga which takes place directly in ishnomori's train of thought
while some ideas appear irrelevant, the way these thoughts are presented in such a raw way gives an authenticity of emotion that not much other literature can do
the art style and physical format of jun's feelings is a pleasure to look at
this manga was incredibly ahead of its time and easily ishnomori's most personal and introspective work
