As a shojo anime lover, when i finished watching the most famous shojo anime recommended by everyone, i started searching for anime that were more slice-of-life. I found clannad and i decided to try and watch it. I watched the first episode of the first season but I didn't really like the story, thinking that it was just another harem anime. Then someone on the internet wrote that this anime changed their life and so I decided to give it another try.
It really changed my life. I'm glad I listened to that person. I haven't seen many anime but even so, no show has ... ever made me feel like this. This show will make you cry, feel emotions and empathize with the main characters. You will learn the importance of love and of family. The thing that are the most important in life. The meaning of human life.

Story: 9/10 i liked clannad: after story better than clannad. the story is heart-breaking but it is so beautiful you won't regret having watched it. clannad is more light-hearted but for me clannad:after story is the real deal. First season was a little bit just like every other harem anime, but you need to watch it to understand clannad:after story.
Characters: 8/10 at some time, I thought they were too many and I wish they would have told us the stories of some of them better. nagisa and okazaki, in my opinion, are the only ones that you can really understand, so I think they wasted the great potential of all the other characters.
OST: 10/10 they're always on point and they help you understand better the feelings of the characters.
Overall rating: 9/10 i couldn't give a 10 because of personal reasons of taste: i thought the love story between nagisa and okazaki could have been better. the ending was also a little bit rushed and i didn't find it really clear.

In conclusion, if you like slice-of-life anime and romance anime, you'll definetly like this one. I recommend it also to ones who like poetry and philosphy. If you are in doubt to watch this or not, don't be and run to watch it. I swear it repays you.
